Delano Manning
Delano Manning, 64, died Wednesday evening, May 21, 2003, in the Trigg Memorial Hospital following an extended illness. He was born June 27, 1938, in Detroit. He is survived by his wife, Amelia, Tucumcari; sons: Delano Manning and wife, Becki, Burbank, Calif.; Anthony Manning and wife, Judy, Louisiana; Timothy Manning, Tucumcari; daughter: Christine Evens and husband, Robert, Chesapeake, Va.; seven grandchildren; brothers: Sandy Manning, Edgewood; Robert Manning, Albuquerque; and a sister: Janet Krelle, Florida. Following his wishes, the body has been cremated.

Rose B. Sandoval
Rose B. Sandoval, 91, died Thursday morning, May 22, 2003, in the Trigg Memorial Hospital following an extended illness. Born Sept. 19, 1911, she was a member of the St. Anne's Catholic Church, the Blue Army and the Mt. Carmel Society. She had been a midwife for many years, delivering babies in Tucumcari and the surrounding areas. She is survived by her sons: Basilio Sandoval, Manuel Sandoval and David Sandoval, all of Tucumcari; two daughters: Dulcinia Gutierrez and Erlinda Montano, both of Tucumcari; two sisters: Corina Mercado, Loveland, Colo.; Eufracia Gutierrez, Tucumcari; 30 grandchildren, 64 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren and adopted children Rosie Sandoval, Josephine Sandoval, Freddy Sandoval, Bernadette Sandoval, Albert Sandoval, Mike Sandoval, Stephanie Grey and Steve Sandoval. Rosary will be 7 p.m. Monday in the St. Anne's Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in the church with the Rev. Leo Padgett officiating. Burial will follow in the family plot of the Tucumcari Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Freddy Sandoval, Christopher Sandoval, Manuel Torres, Steven Gutierrez, Georgie Gutierrez, Dean Montano and Antonio Sandoval.

Maxine Blitz Elliott
Maxine Blitz Elliott, 80, died Sunday, May 18, 2003, after a lengthy illness. She was the daughter of Louis and Birdie Blitz. She earned her BA and a Master's Degree and was had a couple of hours left to receive a doctorate in library science. She was an English instructor at UNM, managed the family jewelry store, served as a Congressional aide and managed the branch library systems for Eastern New Mexico Regional and the El Paso Public Library. She was a 50+ member of Chapter D of the PEO Tucumcari and had been president of the AAUW. She retired back to Tucumcari after managing several branch libraries in Phoenix. Services will be 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Dunn's Memorial Chapel followed by internment at Tucumcari Memorial Park.
