Florence Muller
ALBANY - Mrs. Florence Muller, 69, of the Villa Mary Immaculate Nursing Home, died there suddenly Friday.
Mrs. Muller was born in Chatham and lived in Albany most of her life.
She was the companion of William Conlon until his death.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary Bell of Keeseville and Margaret Skinkle of East Berne; a brother, Forrest Dedrick of Albany; two sisters, Alberta Weaver of Albany and Helen Huick of Valatie; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Chicorelli Funeral Home, 331 Delaware Ave. Burial will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
Calling hours will be 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Florence Watson
MENANDS - Mrs. Florence H. Watson of Kingston Avenue died Friday at home after being stricken.
Born in Troy, Mrs. Watson was a graduate of St. Paul the Apostle School in Mechanicville and the Juilliard School of Music, where she earned a bachelor's degree in music.
She was employed as a bookkeeper for the New York Telephone Co. for many years in the 1960s and 1970s.
Later, Mrs. Watson worked as a teacher's aide for the Troy City School District for more than 25 years, retiring in 1999.
She lived in Watervliet for three years before moving to Menands in 1997.
She was the widow of the late John E. Watson.
Survivors include a son, David J. Watson of Colonie.
A service is set for 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham. Burial will be private in St. Mary's Cemetery, Troy.
Calling hours will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

James Mahoney
RENSSELAER - James W. Mahoney of Mountain View died at home Saturday.
Born in Green Island, Mr. Mahoney graduated from Watervliet High School.
He was employed by the state and later joined the State Bank of Albany, now Fleet Bank, retiring in 1978 as vice president of branch administration.
During this time, Mr. Mahoney attended Russell Sage College and taught courses at the American Institute of Banking.
He was active with the Yankee Doodle Entertainers and St. Joseph's parish and school.
Mr. Mahoney served in the Pacific during World War II.
His wife, Dorothy Webster Mahoney, whom he married in May 1937, died in December 2000.
Survivors include two sons, Michael L. Mahoney and James L. Mahoney; a brother, Edward J. Mahoney; a sister, Pauline Mahoney Walther; and a granddaughter.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph's Church, 1620 Third St.
Calling hours will be 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the W.J. Lyons Jr. Funeral Home, 1700 Washington Ave.

John Pinel
BALLSTON SPA - John S. Pinel, 53, of Juniper Drive, died Saturday at home after being stricken.
Born in Syracuse, Mr. Pinel was a graduate of Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake High School. He had lived at his present address for the last 18 years.
He owned and operated Perfection Group in Ballston Spa.
Survivors include two daughters, Courtney L. Pinel of Saratoga Springs and Samantha L. Pinel of Cohoes; his parents, Edgar and Leatrice Olney Pinel of Scotia; two brothers, Stephen L. Pinel of East Windsor, N.J., and James S. Pinel of West Warwick, R.I.; and a sister, Ellen M. Barnes of Bellevue, Wash.
Services will be private. There are no calling hours.
Burial will be in Ballston Village Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Arrangements are by the Wheeler Funeral Home.

Lena Mereness
SARATOGA SPRINGS - Miss Lena C. Mereness, 89, of the Wesley Health Care Center, formerly of Sharon Springs, died Friday after a short illness.
Miss Mereness was born in Sharon Springs. She attended Green Mountain College and Boston University and did graduate work at the Garrett Biblical Institute and Albany State College for Teachers.
Miss Mereness was active in Christian education at the First United Methodist Church in Schenectady, and in Cambridge, Ohio, and Shelby, Ohio.
She worked on the editorial staff of the Methodist Publishing House in Nashville, Tenn., from 1961 until her retirement in 1976.
Miss Mereness moved to the Embury Apartments in 1991 and to the Wesley Health Care Center in 1999.
She was a member of the Saratoga Springs United Methodist Church and its Ruth Circle, Loyalty Circle and Vespers.
She also taught self-help classes for the Arthritis Foundation for several years.
Survivors include a sister, Sadie Short of Colonie.
Miss Mereness made an anatomical gift to Albany Medical College.
A memorial service is set for 2 p.m. Monday at the Saratoga Springs United Methodist Church. A reception will follow at the Wesley Health Care Center, Lawrence Street.
A family reunion memorial service will be held June 2 at the Sharon Reformed Church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 603 State St., Schenectady; or to the Sharon Reformed Church, Route 10, Sharon Springs; or to the Arthritis Foundation, 1717 Central Ave., Suite 105, Albany.

Mabel Wertman
COLONIE - Mrs. Mabel Wertman, 93, of the Albany County Nursing Home, died at the home Friday after a long illness.
Mrs. Wertman was born and educated in Middleburgh. She had lived in Colonie since 1931.
She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Loudonville and a former member of the Lutheran League of Women.
Mrs. Wertman was a life member of the Shaker Road-Loudonville Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.
She was married to Howard C. Wertman until his death.
Survivors include three sons, Howard R. Wertman and Roger D. Wertman, both of Latham, and Robert W. Wertman of Guilderland; two sisters, Jennie Messerle and Myrtle Miller, both of Albany; a brother, Ted Barkman of East Berne; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Services are set for 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Bowen Funeral Home, 97 Old Loudon Road, Latham.
Calling hours are 5 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Memory's Garden.

Margaret Barney
BALLSTON SPA - Miss Margaret J. Barney, 84, formerly of Northline Road, died Friday at Maplewood Manor.
Miss Barney was born in Ballston Spa.
She worked at Swan Dry Cleaners for many years.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ballston Spa.
Survivors include a sister, Dorothy Barney of Ballston Spa.
A service will be held at 8 p.m. Monday at the Armer Funeral Home, 39 E. High St.
Burial, at a later date, will be in Middle Grove Cemetery.

Mary Fazzone
SCHENECTADY - Mrs. Mary D. Fazzone, 76, of May Avenue, died Friday at St. Clare's Hospital after being stricken at home.
Mrs. Fazzone was born and educated in Carmen and attended Draper High School.
She worked at the Rotterdam Army Depot for three years during World War II.
Survivors include her husband, Ralph "Rick" Fazzone, whom she married Jan. 1, 1944; two sisters, Harriett Peek of Rotterdam and Myrtle Pucci of Schenectady; and a brother, George "Skip" Schrom of Rotterdam.
Services will be held at 7 tonight at the N. Rossi & Sons Funeral Home, Union and North Jay streets. Calling hours are from 5 this afternoon until the service at the funeral home.
Burial, at a later date, will be in Viewland Cemetery in Rotterdam.

Claire Edwards of Corinth, bookkeeper, secretary, 83
CORINTH - Mrs. Claire K. Edwards, 83, of Hamilton Avenue, died Monday at Glens Falls Hospital.
Born in the Bronx, Mrs. Edwards had lived in Yonkers for a few years before moving to Glens Falls in 1945. She moved to Corinth in 1949.
She was a 1935 graduate of Blessed Sacrament Academy in Yonkers and a 1939 graduate of Good Counsel College in White Plains, where she earned a bachelor's degree. She was president of the student council and received the Religion Award from the college president at graduation.
She worked at the Miller Secretary School in Manhattan for a few years until 1945, and later worked as the mill manager's secretary at the International Paper Co. from 1959 to 1977, when she retired.
Mrs. Edwards was also the bookkeeper for Brookhaven Golf Club from 1979 to 1991.
She was a communicant of the Church of the Immaculate Conception of Corinth for many years and was a member of its Altar Rosary Society, where she served as an officer. She was instrumental in establishing a Catholic Daughters Society at the church and served as grand regent for many years.
Survivors include her husband, Herbert J. Edwards, whom she married Sept. 5, 1942; two sons, Michael J. Edwards of Georgetown, S.C., and Gerald P. Edwards of Cazenovia; two daughters, Teresa P. Schoeck of Portland, Ore., and Colette P. Podeszwa of Somerset, N.J.; three sisters, Marie Schultz of Schenorock, Colette Logigian of Levittown, Pa., and Patricia FitzPatrick of Lakehurst, N.J.; a brother, Donald Kelley of Leesburg, Fla.; four grandchildren; and a step-grandson.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Church of the Immaculate Conception of Corinth, 403 Palmer Ave.
Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 this afternoon and 7 to 9 tonight at the Densmore Funeral Home, 7 Sherman Ave. The Rosary will be recited at 8 tonight at the funeral home by members of the church Altar Rosary Society.
Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.

Dona Gray, managed Glove Theater, Vail Mills Drive-In
GLOVERSVILLE - Mrs. Dona Gray, who managed The Glove Theater,died Tuesday at Nathan Littauer Hospital Nursing Home. Mrs. Gray, formerly of Kingsboro Towers, was 82.
Born in Gloversville, Mrs. Gray was a graduate of Gloversville High School and was a lifelong area resident.
She was manager of The Glove Theater from 1957 until its closing. She was later manager of Vail Mills Drive-In from 1967 until its closing in 1989, upon which she retired.
Mrs. Gray was a Baptist.
She was a member of the Gloversville Women of the Moose and also served as its chief regent for two years. She was a member of the Fulton County Republican Club and the former Gloversville Elks Lodge.
Leonard B. Gray, whom she married June 12, 1937, died in 1991.
Survivors include a son, James L. Gray of Gloversville; a daughter, Dona Lee Fremmer of Gloversville; four grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
A service will be held at noon Thursday at the Hollenbeck Funeral Home, 4 Second Ave.
Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m today at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery.
