BRUNSWICK - Mrs. Sarah Jane Holland Wagner, 81, of McChesney Avenue Extension, died Tuesday at Samaritan Hospital in Troy after a short illness.
Born in Troy, Mrs. Wagner was a lifelong area resident and was a graduate of Troy High School.
She retired from Quality Food Management in Troy after 15 years.
Mrs. Wagner was a member of Brunswick Seniors.
She was the widow of Clarence Joseph Wagner.
Survivors include a daughter, Shirley Ann Horton of Melrose; two sons, Joseph Edward Wagner of Melrose and William Francis Wagner of Center Brunswick; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Bryce Funeral Home, corner of Pawling at Maple Avenue, Troy.
Calling hours will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery, Troy.

William Macmillan
COLONIE - William A. Macmillan, 65, of Ahl Avenue, died Tuesday at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady after a long illness.
Born in North Adams, Mass., Mr. Macmillan had lived in Colonie for more than 25 years.
He was an Air Force veteran, serving from 1952 to 1955.
Mr. Macmillan was a member of Laborers Local 190 in Albany.
Survivors include a son, Daniel W. Macmillan of Albany; his mother, Gerildean Neubauer of Albany; a brother, Oscar Neubauer of Albany; two sisters, Jeri Wilcox and Louisa Neubauer of Albany; four stepchildren; 10 grandchildren; and his companion, Dorothy Murphy of Schenectady.
Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road.
A calling hour will precede the service at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Saratoga National Cemetery.

Alice May Kobor
SARATOGA SPRINGS - Mrs. Alice May Hinds Kobor, 76, of the Wesley Health Care Center, formerly of the Embury Apartments, died Wednesday at the center after a long illness.
She was a member of St. Therese Chapel of Gansevoort.
Her husband, Frank J. Kobor, died in 1989.
Survivors include a son, Frank Kobor of Winter Springs, Fla.; and a sister, Bertha Kastberg of Grandville.
A service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Home, 130 Circular St.
Burial will be in Bay Street Cemetery, Glens Falls.
A calling hour precede the service at the funeral home.

Charles Jacobson
GLOVERSVILLE - A private service will be held for Charles H. Jacobson, 68, of North Arlington Avenue, who died Tuesday at Nathan Littauer Hospital after being stricken.
Born in Gloversville, Mr. Jacobson was a lifelong area resident.
He was a leather worker for the former G. Levor Leather Co.
Later, Mr. Jacobson worked for Cayadutta Tanning Co. until retiring in 1975 due to a disability.
A Navy veteran of the Korean War, Mr. Jacobson was an original crew member and a plank owner of the USS Newport News when the ship was first commissioned.
He was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2077, and a member of the American Legion.
Mr. Jacobson was a member of the League of Navy Ships, Washington, D.C.
His wife, Helen White Jacobson, whom he married March 20, 1953, died in 1993.
Survivors include two sons, Charles E. Jacobson of Mayfield, and Darryl Jacobson of Gloversville; three daughters, Nancy Conover of Northville, Deborah Noone of Mayfield, and Brenda Schubert of Meco; a brother, Fred Jacobson Jr. of Rosenberg, Texas; a sister, Doris Palmateer of Mayfield; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
There are no calling hours.

Clair C. Harper, Jr.
CLIFTON PARK - Clair C. Harper, Jr., 75, of Clifton Park died Tuesday after being stricken.
Born in Rochester, Mr. Harper lived in Clifton Park for the past 30 years.
During World War II, he served with the Army.
For 28 years, Mr. Harper worked for the General Electric Co., retiring in 1983 as the large lamp regional sales representative.
He was a member and past president of the Illuminating Engineers Society.
Survivors include three daughters, Karen Law and Jill Schoonmaker, both of Guilderland, and Christine Beyer of Clifton Park; and eight grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday at Shenendehowa United Methodist Church, Route 146.
Burial will be private in Memory's Garden, Colonie.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.

Eleanor Rhinehart
GLOVERSVILLE - Mrs. Eleanor Rhinehart, 79, of Montgomery Street died Wednesday at Nathan Littauer Hospital after a brief illness.
A lifelong Gloversville resident, Mrs. Rhinehart was a graduate of Gloversville High School and Albany Business Institute.
Many years ago, she was a bookkeeper for the family-owned business, Rhinehart Distributing Co.. She also was a bookkeeper for Rose Buick and for Topps Lambskin and Fashion Co., both in Johnstown, and Mariann's Restaurant in Broadalbin. For many years, she was proprietor of the Magic Lantern Tavern until retiring and most recently, sold religious articles at the Martyrs Shrine in Auriesville until 1994.
She was a member of St. Mary of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Church.
Mrs. Rhinehart was also a member of the Gloversville Women of the Moose.
Survivors include a son, Robert W. Rhinehart of Gloversville; a sister, Clara Lord of Florida; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Walrath & Bushouer Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St.
Burial will be in Fern Dale Cemetery, Johnstown.
Calling hours will be 7 to 9 tonight at the funeral home.

Elvira I. `Irene' Frescatore
ROTTERDAM - Mrs. Elvira I. "Irene" Frescatore, 91, formerly of Cedarlawn Avenue, died Tuesday at the Glendale Nursing Home, Glenville.
Born in Schenectady, Mrs. Frescatore was a lifelong area resident.
She was a member of the Rotterdam Senior Citizens.
Her husband, Michael Frescatore, died in 1982.
Survivors include a sister, Mary Conroy of Miami; and a brother, Jack Rosse of Rotterdam.
The services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave., and at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated.
A calling hour will precede the service at the funeral home.
Burial will be in St. Cyril's Cemetery.

Helen Buzanowski
SCHENECTADY - Mrs. Helen Pokrzywnicki Buzanowski, 73, of Saratoga Road, Glenville, formerly of Fifth Avenue, died Wednesday at home after being stricken.
A lifelong area resident, Mrs. Buzanowski was a graduate of Mont Pleasant High School.
For 20 years, she was a processor for Schenectady Trust Co. before retiring.
Mrs. Buzanowski was a member of the Polish Union of America and the Polish Roman Catholic Union.
She also was a member of the Church of St. Adalbert and its Altar Rosary Society.
Her husband, Stanley J. Buzanowski, died in 1992.
Survivors include a son, Alan S. Buzanowski of Glenville; two brothers, Raymond Pokrzywnicki of Glenville and Edmund Pokrzywnicki of Canoga Park, Calif.; and three granddaughters.
Services will be at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at the Feeley-Nuzback Funeral Home, 1 Mohawk Ave, Scotia, and at 9 a.m. at the Church of St. Adalbert, where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated.
Burial will be in St. Adalbert Cemetery, Rotterdam.
Calling hours will be 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Henry Carl, Jr. of Green Island; was public works commissioner
GREEN ISLAND - Henry C. Carl, Jr., 55, of James Street died Wednesday after being stricken at home.
A lifelong Green Island resident, Mr. Carl was a firefighter for the Green Island Fire Department for 14 years. For the past 16 years, he served as commissioner of public works.
He was a member of the National American Public Works Association; a member, past vice-president and trustee of the Capital District Branch of the American Public Works Association; a member of the New York State Conference of Mayors; a charter member of the Green Island Village Pals; a member and past local president of the New York State Permanent Firemen's Association; a member of the Cohoes Moose Lodge, the Watervliet Elks Lodge, the Apollo Masonic Lodge, the Vagabond Club; and a member, past president, secretary and treasurer of the Green Island Italian Fraternal Society.
Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Falasco Carl; three daughters, Phyllis Shook of Green Island, Laura Bourque of Altamont and Beverly LaRose of Latham; three sons, Henry C. Carl, III of Lansingburgh, John D. Carl of Green Island and Joseph A. Carl of Waterford; two sisters, Mary Soucy of Watervliet and Barbara Brannigan of West Pawlet, Vt.; a brother, David J. Carl of Green Island; and eight grandchildren.
A service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph's Church.
Burial will be in Elmwood Hill Cemetery, Troy.
Calling hours will be 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the McNulty Funeral Home, 147 Hudson Ave.

Henry E. Veldman
SCOTIA - Henry E. Veldman, 74, of Bovie Hill Road, Hoosick Falls, formerly of Scotia, died Monday at Stratton Veterans Affairs Medical Center Hospital, Albany, after a brief illness.
Born in Holland, Mr. Veldman came to the Schenectady area at age 12.
During World War II, he served with the Army Intelligence Corps in the Philippines.
For 37 years, Mr. Veldman was a toolmaker for the General Electric Co. and Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory, retiring in 1987.
He was a member of the Church of the Immaculate Conception Church, Glenville.
Mr. Veldman was also a member of the GE Quarter Century Club.
His wife, Ann Mizenko Veldman, died in 1996.
Survivors include two sons, John P. Veldman of Aiken, S.C., and Thomas H. Veldman of Hoosick Falls; three brothers, Peter Veldman of Albany, Ted Veldman of Red Hook and Gary Veldman of Colonie; and two grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at Immaculate Conception Church, Route 50, Glenville.
Burial will be in St. Cyril Cemetery, Rotterdam.
There will be no calling hours.
