FORT PLAIN - Ricky A. Dillenbeck, 48, of Rouse Road, died Sunday at St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam after a long illness.
Born in Little Falls, Mr. Dillenbeck was educated in area country schools and was a lifelong area resident. He worked at Lexington Industries in Gloversville for 30 years.
Mr. Dillenbeck was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Stone Arabia.
Survivors include his parents, William and Sadie Dillenbeck of Fort Plain; a sister, Joanne Heiser of Canajoharie; and two brothers, Alan W. Dillenbeck of Plymouth, Mass., and Kevin Dillenbeck of Canajoharie.
The service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. John-St. Mark Lutheran Church, Church Street, Canajoharie. Calling hours will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, 20 Otsego St., Canajoharie.
Burial will be in Fort Plain Cemetery.

Robert A. Coonradt
VENICE, Fla. - Robert A. Coonradt, 69, of Roma Road, died at home Sunday after being stricken.
Born in Troy, Mr. Coonradt was a graduate of Troy High School.
He was a Navy Air Force veteran, serving as an aviation mechanic from 1952 to 1955.
Mr. Coonradt was an auto mechanic for many years. He also owned and operated Bob Coonradt Latham-American in Latham. He retired to Sarasota, Fla., and was a member of a Sarasota flying club.
Survivors include his wife, Teresita Coonradt; three sons, Timothy A. Coonradt of Sarasota, Fla., Robert A. Coonradt of Concord, Calif., and Kevin P. Coonradt of Amsterdam; a daughter, Edith Watson of Scotia; a brother, David Coonradt of Grafton; a sister, Helen Frasier of Las Vegas, Nev.; six grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, 115th Street and Fourth Avenue, Lansingburgh.
Calling hours will be 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Burial with military honors will be in Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville.

Rosalie Bixby
COLONIE - Mrs. Rosalie J. Bixby, 66, of Colonie, died Sunday at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady.
Born in Proctorsville, Vt., Mrs. Bixby lived most of her life in the town of Colonie.
She worked for the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance for 23 years, retiring in 1996.
Mrs. Bixby was a member of St. James Methodist Church, Proctorsville, Vt.
She was married to Clarence E. Bixby for 47 years until his death.
Survivors include two sons, Richard Bixby of Proctorsville and Randy Bixby of Mt. Holly, Vt.; a daughter, Rhonda Bixby of Colonie; two sisters, Bessie Webb of Ludlow, Vt., and Maxine Bixby of Whitehall; a brother, Robert Lawrence of Proctorsville; and four grandchildren.
Calling hours and a memorial service for family members will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Adams & Kenney Funeral Home, 12 Meadow St., Ludlow, Vt.
A graveside service will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery, Proctorsville.

Theresa Reddy
STILLWATER - Ms. Theresa L. Reddy, 78, of Flike Road, died Monday at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady after a short illness.
Born in Riverside, Ms. Reddy lived most of her adult life in Stillwater. She was a clerk in the tool crib area at the General Electric Co. in Schenectady, retiring in 1985. Previously, she worked at the Watervliet Arsenal and the Stillwater Knitting Mill.
Ms. Reddy was a member of the Mechanicville-Stillwater Senior Citizens and the Arvin Hart Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She was also a member of the American Legion Post 490 Auxiliary.
She was a former member of St. Paul's Church and was a member of St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church.
Survivors include three sons, Robert Shorter of Mechanicville, William Shorter of Stillwater and Gary Shorter of Chicago; a daughter, Debra O'Donnell of Saratoga Springs; and five grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Peter's Church. Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 S. Main St., Mechanicville.
Burial will be in St. Paul's Cemetery, Mechanicville.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association or the American Heart Association.

Helen Hoyt
JOHNSTOWN - Mrs. Helen M. Hoyt, 71, of Miller Street, died Sunday at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady after a short illness.
Mrs. Hoyt was born in Gloversville.
She worked at Breton Industries and Esquire Novelty Corp., both of Amsterdam, for many years. She had recently worked with the Senior Citizen Service Center of Gloversville and Fulton County.
Mrs. Hoyt was a member of the Fremont Street United Methodist Church and Johnstown Women of the Moose.
Survivors include her husband, Robert D. Hoyt Sr., whom she married Aug. 30, 1947; four sons, Robert D. and Leo J. Hoyt, both of Amsterdam, Ronald E. Hoyt of Albany and Richard A. Hoyt of Johnstown; four daughters, Judith A. Pettit of Colonie, Karen S. Shutts of Georgia, Jean M. Rote of Perth and Tami L. Hill of Gloversville; two sisters, Hilda Arnold of Seattle, Wash., and Ruthie Deere of Mayfield; a brother, Marvin Herrick of Johnstown; 25 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Fremont Street United Methodist Church, 17 Fremont St., Gloversville.
Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the A.G. Cole Funeral Home, 215 E. Main St.
Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Fonda.

James Cashin
ROTTERDAM JUNCTION - James E. Cashin of Alexander Drive died Saturday at Ellis Hospital after a short illness.
Born in Troy, Mr. Cashin was educated at LaSalle Institute.
He was a railroad engineer for 35 years for the Delaware and Hudson Railroad, Conrail and Amtrak. He served on the High Speed Rail Committee for Amtrak from 1996 to 1998 and as local chairman of BLE-Division 77 from 1995 to 1998.
Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Darlene J. Robinson; two daughters, Tracy E. Milanese of Grafton and Cheryl VonFricken of Speigletown; and eight grandchildren.
Services will be held Wednesday at the McVeigh Funeral Home, 208 N. Allen St., Albany, at a time to be announced.
Calling hours will be from 4 this afternoon to 8 this evening at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery.

James E. Bachus, 65, former Schenectady police captain
PRINCETOWN - James E. Bachus, who was a captain in the Schenectady Police Department, died at home Tuesday after a long illness. Mr. Bachus, of Princetown, was 65.
Born in the Bronx, Mr. Bachus was a 1953 graduate of Long Island City High School.
He was a Navy veteran, serving from 1954 to 1957 on the submarine fleet in the Atlantic Reserve Fleet.
Mr. Bachus moved to Schenectady in 1957 and served in the Schenectady Police Department until 1991, retiring as police captain. He was director of the Zone 5 Law Enforcement Academy, Session 5. At one time, he worked at Chase National Bank in New York City. He also worked for more than 10 years at the security office at St. Clare's Hospital in Schenectady.
After retiring, he lived in both Princetown and Venice, Fla.
He was a longtime member of the Glenville Fish & Game Club.
Mr. Bachus was a communicant of Immaculate Conception Church in Schenectady.
Survivors include his wife, Arlene De Sarbo Bachus, whom he married April 11, 1959; two sons, James "Dan" Bachus of Glenville and Darren Bachus of Guilderland; two daughters, Diana Craig of Rotterdam and Deneen Knob of Charlotte, N.C.; and 10 grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Conception Church, Bradt Street, Schenectady.
There will be no calling hours.

Cynthia Engel, Rensselaer County legislator, author
EAST GREENBUSH - Mrs. Cynthia Walker Engel, who was a member of the Rensselaer County Legislature, died Tuesday at home after a short illness. Mrs. Engel, of East Greenbush, was 48.
Born in Johnstown, Pa., Mrs. Engel lived most of her life in the Capital Region. She was a graduate of Kingston High School, Columbia Pacific University and the New York School of Interior Design.
In 1997, Mrs. Engel was elected as a member of the Rensselaer County Legislature. Earlier this month, she was re-elected by a wide margin to a second term. As a legislator, Mrs. Engel served as chairwoman for the Legislature's Environmental Committee and a member of the Legislature's Veterans and Youth Committee and Aging Committee. She was instrumental in the establishment of the 156-acre Papscanee Nature Preserve along the shore of the Hudson River in the towns of East Greenbush and Schodack. She was also instrumental in the improvement of services for seniors, youths and veterans and was recognized for her service and dedication to the community.
Mrs. Engel was a member and former president of the Rensselaer County Women's Republican Club.
She was the creator, owner and manager of Engelart Designs.
Mrs. Engel was a member and former president of the Business and Professional Women of Southern Rensselaer County and a member of the Zonta Club. She was a member of the board of directors of the Commission on Economic Opportunity. An author of children's books, Mrs. Engel published "The Dream Gift."
Survivors include her husband, Kevin J. Engel; two daughters, Angela K. Smith of London, England, and Courtney E. Engel of East Greenbush; a son, Justin A. Engel of East Greenbush; her parents, Edward and Lois Walker; two sisters, Janis E. Ward of Coppell, Texas, and Lois J. Searight of Westwood, Mass.; and three brothers, Edward R. Walker III of Sweeny, Texas, Kerry R. Walker of Virginia Beach and Keith T. Walker of Dallas, Texas.
The service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the House of Praise Ministries, 1688 Route 9, Castleton. Calling hours will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Wm. J. Rockefeller Funeral Home, 165 Columbia Turnpike, Rensselaer.
Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.

`Dick' Gugenberger, was decorated WWII veteran
GLOVERSVILLE - Albert "Dick" R. Gugenberger, who was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific, died Wednesday at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady. Mr. Gugenberger, of the Fulton County Residential Health Care Facility, was 78.
Mr. Gugenberger was born in Gloversville and lived in the area for most of his life. He was educated in Northville.
He was the recipient of two Bronze Stars.
Mr. Gugenberger was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2077.
Mr. Gugenberger worked for Gugenberger Inc. of Gloversville, a roofing and sheet metal business. He was subsequently self-employed in the sheet metal and heating business.
He retired from the Stephen Miller Contracting Co. of Mayfield due to illness.
He was a former member of the Foresters and the Ida McGinnis Senior Citizens. He was an Explorer Scout leader for many years.
Mr. Gugenberger was a member of North Main Street United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth "Betty" Graves Gugenberger, whom he married Dec. 23, 1944; three sons, Richard L. and Robert J. Gugenberger, both of Mayfield, and Daniel R. Gugenberger of Johnstown; three daughters, Judy Lyn Elmendorf of Meco, and Jill M. Bell and Jan S. Ackernecht, both of Gloversville; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
A service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday at the Hollenbeck Funeral Home, 4 Second Ave.
Calling hours are 1 to 3 p.m. and from 5 p.m. until the service Friday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Fern Dale Cemetery in Johnstown.

Eddie Lee Robinson, was a longtime city employee
SARATOGA SPRINGS - Eddie Lee Robinson, who worked for the city of Saratoga Springs Public Works Department for 32 years, died Tuesday at home. Mr. Robinson, of Division Street, was 56.
Born in Jackson, Miss., Mr. Robinson was a city resident for more than 35 years.
For several years, he worked at the Gideon Putnam Hotel.
He retired from the Public Works Department earlier this year as foreman. He won several trophies and awards for his participation in area golf tournaments.
Mr. Robinson was a member of the American Legion and Frederick Allen Elks Lodge 609.
He was the widower of Dianne Robinson, who died in 1995.
Survivors include three sons, Curtis Ray Robinson of Jackson, Miss., Eddie Lee Waite of Georgia and Eddie Lee Robinson III of Saratoga Springs; a daughter, Tammy Lee Robinson of Schenectady; a brother, Shelby King Jr. of Saratoga Springs; a sister, Shirley Terrell of Jackson, Miss.; several grandchildren; and his companion, Cecelia Patten of Saratoga Springs.
A service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the William J. Burke & Sons Funeral Home, 628 N. Broadway, where a calling hour will begin at 1.
Burial will be in the family plot at Maplewood Cemetery, Louden Road, followed by a gathering of friends at the Frederick Allen Lodge 609, 69 Beekman St.
