FORT PIERCE, Fla. - Patricia McDonald Albert, 67, of Fort Pierce, formerly of Bolivar, NY, died Monday (May 21, 2001) in Fort Pierce.
She was born in Franklinville, NY, and moved to Fort Pierce from Bolivar. She was married to Dick Albert, who survives.
She had lived in Fort Pierce for 42 years and had worked as a registered nurse for Dr. Trinidad Garcia. She had also worked for 20 years for Dr. John D. Browning.
Mrs. Albert was a member of St. Anastasia Catholic Church.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Albert is survived by two daughters, Kathy Albert and Michelle Bladergroen, both of Fort Pierce; two sons, Rick (Beth) Albert of Okeechobee and Eddie (Kim) Albert of Fort Pierce; eight granddaughters; three grandsons; three greatgrandchildren; four brothers, Joey McDonald and Ted McDonald, both of Bolivar, Dick McDonald of Fort Pierce and Eddie McDonald of Buffalo, NY; and a sister, Sherry Benjamin of Deltona.
She was predeceased by her parents and a brother, James McDonald.
Friends called Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Haisley-Hobbs Funeral Home Inc. in Fort Pierce. Funeral services were held Friday (May 25, 2001) at 10 a.m. in St. Anastasia Catholic Church.

WELLSVILLE - Alberta S. Handrahan, 80, of 12 Johnson St. died Sunday (May 27, 2001) in Jones Memorial Hospital.
Born June 18, 1920, in Wellsville, she was a daughter of Rodney R. and Malinda C. Welch Sherwood. On April 16 1947,. in Wellsville, she married Richard Handrahan, who survives.
In the late 1940s and 1950s Mrs. Handrahan and Marg Boring ran the Wellsville Country Club kitchen. She was a member of the Lady E1ks, Women of the Moose, American Legion Auxiliary and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, all in Wellsville.
In addition to her husband Mrs. Handrahan is survived by a son, Michael (Jeannie) Handrahan of Mesa, Ariz.; two daughters, D. Malinda (William) Dean of Palm Bay, Fla., and Mary Jane (David) Allen of Austin, Texas; eight grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
There was no prior visitation.
A memorial service was held at a later date.

BELFAST - Diane W. Hasper, 63, of 20 Hughes St. died Saturday (May 26, 2001) in St. Peter's Hospital in Albany after a short illness.
Born Oct. 1, 1937, in Balston Spa, she was a daughter of the late George A. and Gladys King Wilson of Scotia. She graduated from Scotia High School, Albany Medical Center School of Nursing, and did graduate work at Russell Sage College in Troy. She was a nurse on the pediatric staff of
Albany Medical Center and later worked as a nurse at Jones Memorial Hospital in Wellsville, at Houghton College, and as the school nurse at Belfast Central School from 1975 to 1985.
On July 18, 1959, at the Scotia United Methodist Church, she married John W. Hasper, former member of the New York State Assembly and current Deputy Secretary of State, who survives.
She was a member and past president of the Allegany County Women's Republican Club, a member and past president of the Women's Federation, a longtime Allegany County Republican Committeewoman, a member of the Theta Sigma National Nursing Sorority, the Allegany County Eye Foundation, the Cuba Memorial Hospital Board, the Girl Scouts, the Genesee Valley Chorus, Belfast United Methodist Church and was active in the American Cancer Society throughout her life.
In addition to her husband, John, Mrs. Hasper is survived by four daughters and three sons-in-law, Kimberly A. of Olean, Gretchen L. and Michael J. Govan of McLean, Va. Jacquelyn M. and Stephen C. Kuno of Potsdam, and Jennifer L. and Steven F. Hall of Fort Jackson; nine grandchildren; a sister and brother-in-law, Dayle K. and Thomas Leonard of Glenmore, Pa.; and two nieces.
She loved spending time with her husband, her children, and her grandchildren. She also enjoyed gardening, knitting, traveling and had a deep commitment to numerous philanthropic organizations, and to people in need. She was well known by family and friends for her vibrant personality, eternal optimism and kind heart.
Memorials may be made to Belfast Central School, for a scholarship in her honor, or to the American Cancer Society in support of pancreatic cancer research.
Friends called Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Treusdell Funeral Home in Belfast. Funeral services were held Saturday (June 2, 2001) at the United Methodist Church in Belfast at 10 a.m.
BELFAST - Ernest R. Lyman, 64, of 7673 Route 305 Belfast, died unexpectedly Friday (May 25, 2001) at Olean General Hospital.
Born March 19, 1937, in Great Valley, he was the son of Ernest “Parley” and Hazel Gross Lyman.
On July 23, 1965, in Belfast, he married the former Betty Hillabush, who survives.
A graduate of Rushford Central School, Mr. Lyman was employed by L.C. Whitford Materials Co. Inc., Wellsville, retiring in 1992. He was a member of Local 66 Carpenters Union, and was an avid hunter.
Surviving in adedition to his wife and mother are three sons, Mickey Lyman of Eldred, Pa., Ricky (Debbie) Lyman of Belmont, and Shannon Lyman of Raleigh, N.C.; five grandchildren; a brother, John (Nancy) Lyman of Black Creek; a niece and a nephew.
Friends were received Monday from 7 to 9 pm and Tuesday, May 29, 2001, from 2 to 4 pm at Truesdell Funeral Home, Belfast. A funeral and committal services were held immediately after visitation at the funeral home. The Rev. Mel McGinnis, pastor of the Belfast Free Methodist Church officiated. Burial was in Hardy's Corners Cemetery, Rushford.
Memorials may be made to the Belfast Rescue Squad.
RUSHFORD - Oneida Reynolds of Main and Buffalo Street died Wednesday (May 23, 2001) at the home of her brother-in-law in Rushford.
Born Oct. 16, 1917, in Rushford, she was a daughter of John and Maggie Gilbert Reynolds.
She was a graduate of Rushford Central School, now Cuba-Rushford Central School. She attended the Rushford United Methodist Church and was a former employee of the Perry Knitting Mill in Perry and of Star Dell Produce in Franklinville.
She is survived by her brother-in-law, Ellis Pelton of Rushford.
Friends were received at the Kopler-Williams Funeral Home, 21 N. Genesee St., Fillmore, on Saturday (May 26, 2001) from 10 to 11 a.m. Funeral services followed visitation at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Bradley Chesebro, pastor of the Rushford United Methodist Church, officiated.
Burial was in White Cemetery in Rushford.
WEST CLARKSVILLE - Esther L. Stewart of 8780 Stewart Road, West Clarksville, died Friday (May 25, 2001) at the Cuba Memorial Hospital Residential Health Care facility following a long illness.
Born in Buffalo on June 7 1912, she was a daughter of Harvey H. and Gail Congdon McIntyre.
On June 20, 1936, she married W. Rolland “Pat” Stewart, who died Nov. 12, 1987. She had lived in the West Clarksville area since childhood.
Mrs. Stewart was a member of the West Clarksville Baptist Church and had served as church organist. She also belonged to the West Clarksville Home Bureau.
She graduated from Fredonia Normal School and taught in area schools for several years, and had been employed for several years in the insurance office of Lawrence Dye Inc. prior to her retirement.
Surviving are a daughter, Chrystal (Royce) Van Patten of West Clarksville; a son, Gael (Patricia) Stewart of Portville; three grandchildren, Nathan (Bernice) Van Patten of Olean, Evon (Colleen) Van Patten of Olean, and Nicole (Robert) Stewart Hand of Erie, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by two brothers, Mark McIntyre and James McIntyre.
Friends were received at the McIntosh Funeral Home (Nicholson Chapel), 24 Genesee Parkway, Cuba, Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services were held Wednesday (May 30, 2001) at the funeral home. The Rev. Leslie E. Chambers, pastor of West Clarksville Baptist Church, dofficiate. Burial was in West Clarksville Cemetery, town of Clarksville.
