DENISE M. MURPHY, 39, of 137 Scott Ave. passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, June 12, 2004 at home. She was born October 1, 1964 in Bronx, NY the loving daughter of James and Patricia (Ryan) Murphy.
She grew up in Little Ferry, NJ and was a 1982 graduate of Ridgefield Park High School. She moved to Andover, NY in 1985 where her maternal grandparents Angelo “Smiley” and Sylvia (Ostrander) D’Ariano reside. She moved to Wellsville in 1990 where she lived until her untimely death.
Denise was a 1994 graduate of the State University of New York at Alfred with an Associate Degree in Human Services.
She had been employed at the Book Store, Byrne Dairy, Andover A+, and Manor Hills in Wellsville. She volunteered at the Christian Temple Soup Kitchen and Jones Memorial Hospital. She was an avid reader and movie watcher, she loved flowers, walking, listening to rock-n-roll, and attending concerts.
She loved laughter and people, especially her family, friends, and anyone in need. She had a passion for the study of Domestic Violence, she had a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone. Her beautiful smile lit up the room; her voice and laughter echoed “Now the party can begin!” She left a lasting impression on all those she came in contact with. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all.
In addition to her parents and maternal grandparents, Denise is survived by a sister: Tara Murphy of Clifton, NJ; a brother: Neil Murphy of Hackensack, NJ; her paternal grandparents: Alfred and Rose Marie (Aloi) Murphy of Brooklyn, NY; several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She was predeceased by a maternal grandfather: Arnold Ryan, a maternal aunt: Mary Catherine Ryan, a maternal Uncle: David Ryan, her best friend and cousin: Yvonne (Ryan) Pierce, and a paternal aunt: Rose Marie (Murphy) Riccio.
There will be no prior visitation, and a memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday, June 18, 2004 at 11:00 am in Immaculate Conception Church, Wellsville with Rev. Dennis Wolf as celebrant. Memorial suggestions include the Domestic Violence Task Force, the Family Development Division of Domestic Violence at Accord, and the Christian Temple Soup Kitchen.

Donald A. Brown, formerly of 165 Madison Avenue, Wellsville passed away on Monday March 8, 2004 at Jones Memorial Hospital. He was born December 6,1920 in Rexville to Albert C. and Catherine Brown. On December 6,1941 in Stannards he married the former Bertha Mae Doty who survives him.
In his youth he began his working career as a farm hand and later as a family man he became a tenant farmer. Later he worked for Bradley Producing for 23 years in Wellsville and in Glencoe,Ontario Canada where he supervised the Bradley’s oil lease for 9 years. In 1967 he returned to Wellsville and left Bradley’s to learn the trade of Welding and worked for Turbodine until his retirement in 1982. Don was an avid bowler, enjoyed hunting, fishing and traveling to Canada. He took great pride in his home and his lawn and gardens were admired by all. Don always said dairy farming was his favorite.
He is loving remembered by his loving wife of 62 years; 2 daughters Sherry Ann Haggith of Glencoe Ontario, Canada, Jo Ann Brown of London, Ontario, Canada; a son Kenneth (Shirley) Brown of Hilton; 11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; 2 brothers Clifford Brown of Petrolia and Albert ”Junior” [Fran] Brown of Warren, PA.; a sister Lillian Carlin of Wellsville; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a sister, Bertha C. Stephens.
Friends are invited to call tonight Tuesday March 9 from 7-9pm and on Wednesday from 10am-11am in the J.W. Embser & Sons Funeral Home in Wellsville. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday after calling at 11am in the funeral home with Rev. Clifford Brown Jr. presiding. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery and memorials may be made to the Alzheimer Association of Western New York 1284 French Road Depew, NY. 14043.

DONALD C. AIKEN, 77, of 2895 Truax Road passed away on Friday, November 19, 2004 at Jones Memorial Hospital. He was born April 1, 1927 in Corsica, PA the son of Clark G. and Rachel (Songor) Aiken. On June 10, 1950, in Wellsville he married Jane Ludden, who survives.
Don graduated with the Wellsville High School class of 1945 and was inducted into the Wellsville Sports Hall of Fame with the 1943 undefeated football team. During World War II he entered the U.S. Navy before graduation and received his diploma while in the service. He was employed by C.E. Air Preheater for 39 ½ years, retiring in 1985. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church, a member and past president of the Emerald Hook and Ladder Company #3 in Wellsville, a past Chief of the Wellsville Volunteer Fire Department, and a Life Member of the American Legion Morrison Hayes Post # 702.
He was a Wellsville Midget League Football coach for several years until 1974. He was affectionately known as PaPa by his grandchildren, and was very involved in their sports and activities.
In addition to his wife, Don is survived by 2 sons: Timothy C. (Sandra) Aiken of Wellsville, David P. (Gail) Aiken of Henrietta; 2 daughters: Teresa (Terry) Chisholm of Coudersport, PA, Colleen (Steven) VanScott of Fairport, NY; 13 grandchildren: Brendan, Bryce, Alison, Kristen, Emily, Pat, and Amy Aiken; Shauna, Andrew, and Aaron Chisholm; AJ, Sarahjane, and Donnie VanScott; 2 aunts, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a special friend: Billy Braun.
Don was predeceased by 3 sisters: Regina Aiken, Shirley Gavit, and June Aiken, and a brother: Harold “Harley” Aiken.
There will be a rosary service held Sunday at 2:30 pm in the J.W. Embser Sons Funeral Home, Inc. in Wellsville with visitation to follow from 3:00 to 7:00 pm. Following a 10:30 am prayer service in the funeral home, a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, November 22 in the Immaculate Conception Church in Wellsville at 11:00 am with Father Dennis Wolf as Celebrant. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Wellsville. Memorial suggestions include the Immaculate Conception School, and the Jones Memorial Hospital Building Fund.

Donald L. Morrison, of 17 McDowell Avenue died September 21, 2003 shortly after arrival at Jones Memorial Hospital in Wellsville. He was born November 4, 1930 in Wellsville, the son of Lowell and May (Freelove) Morrison. On July 26, 1950 in Scio he married Ethel Kish who survives.
Don was a 1950 graduate of Wellsville High School. He was employed as a printer for the Wellsville Daily Reporter for several years, he later a shop supervisor at McCulloch MITE-E-LITE Corp. in Wellsville and at the time of his death he was a guard at Alstom Power Inc. Air Preheated Company in Wellsville, advancing to the rank of Lieutenant. He was a member of the Wellsville First United Methodist Church and the McEwen Hose Company # 4 in Wellsville and had also served in the Fire Police.
Surviving in addition to is wife, is one daughter, Darlene (Richard) Nydegger of Wellsville, 2 granddaughters, Vickie Nydegger of Wellsville and Becky (Chris) Foth of Andover, 2 great grandsons, 2 brothers, Andy (Pauline) Morrison of Wellsville, Ronald (Barbara) Morrison of Scio, 2 sisters, Maxine (Alvin) Whitesell of Wellsville, Ardele Crause of North Tonawanda and several nieces & nephews.
Friends are invited to call on Wednesday from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the J. W. Embser Sons Funeral Home Inc. in Wellsville. The funeral will be Thursday September 25th. at 1:00 PM in the funeral home with Rev. Lee Williams presiding. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery and memorial suggestions include any charity of the donors choice.

Donald E.”Don” Zenoski, a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother of 2 Milton Street passed away unexpectedly on September 20, 2004. On April 22,1934 he was born in Tyler, PA. to Walter and Helen Monaghan Zenoski. On May 20, 1961 in Belmont he married his life long partner Maureen Monroe who survives him. He graduated from Friendship High School in 1953 and served with the US Army Corps of Engineers from 1955 to 1957 in Alaska. He worked for 32 years for NYSDOT in Hornell retiring in 1991.
Don was a Communicant, Trustee and Eucharistic Minister for St. Mary’s Church in Belmont. He was a past commander of the Herbert DeLong American Legion Post in Belmont, past member of the Belmont Rotary and past member of the Belmont Fire Department. He was an avid outdoorsman and was very active in youth sports including t-ball, Little League and Babe Ruth as a manager. Don had a passion for woodworking and gardening. He cherished spending time with his wife and family at home and during winters in Myrtle Beach, SC.
Surviving besides his wife of 43 years include: 1 daughter Kelli [David] Bartlett of Mt. Sterling, OH.: 4 sons Jeffery [Christa] Zenoski of Belmont; Timothy [Kari] Zenoski of Bloomfield; Donald Mark [Tammy] Zenoski of Matthews, NC. and Joseph [Stacey] Zenoski of Huntersville, NC.; 7 grandchildren Riley, Madison, Allea, Brennon, Emily, David and Katie.; 2 sisters Toni Witter and Rita Midey; a beloved brother-in-law David Witter; Aunts, uncles, cousins several nieces and nephews as well as cherished friends and neighbors. He was predeceased by his parents, a sister Jean and a brother-in-law, Dean Midey.
Friends are invited to call on Wednesday, September 22 from 2-4 and 7-9pm in the J.W. Embser Sons Funeral Home in Belmont. A prayer service will be held on Thursday at 10:30am in the Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am in St. Mary’s Church with Father Dennis Mancuso as Celebrant. Burial with full military honors will take place in Forest Hills Cemetery. In lieu of Flowers memorials may be made to the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Belmont or to the Alzheimer’s Association of WNY 2805 Wehrle Drive Suite 6 Williamsville, NY. 14221-7380

DORINE H. WATSON, 72, of State Route 244 went home to be with her Lord on July 28, 2004 at Jones Memorial Hospital. She was born on February 17, 1932, the daughter of Jacob and Delia Kratz. On January 28, 1984 in Liverpool, NY she married Lawrence Watson, who survives.
She was employed by a law firm in Syracuse, and moved to the Belmont area in 1984, where she was employed by Sears in Hornell until it closed. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Belmont, and enjoyed playing the piano.
In addition to her husband, Dorine is survived by 2 sons: Michael Rainbow of Syracuse, John Rainbow of Carmel, NY, a daughter: Susan Bryan of Phoenix, NY, 3 grandchildren, 6 stepchildren, 14 step grandchildren, 3 step great grandchildren, a brother: David Kratz of Syracuse, a sister: Norma Miller of Lowville, and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her second husband, William Marden.
Friends are invited to call on Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm at the J.W. Embser Sons Funeral Home, Inc. in Belmont. The funeral will be Saturday, July 31 at 11:00 am in the First Baptist Church of Belmont with Rev. Nathan Hyman presiding. Burial will be in Dewitt, NY. Memorial suggestions include the First Baptist Church of Belmont.
