Meda E. Miller, a former resident of Wellsville, died Wednesday, December 3, 2003 in Oklahoma City.OK. She was born on January 25,1918 in Wellsville to Harry and Estella Durfee Nicholson. On March 17,1939 in Jasper she married Raymond L. Miller who predeceased her on April 15, 2001. Meda was a graduate of Wellsville High School in 1936 and had worked for the former Big N Department Store in Wellsville. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Wellsville.
Survivors include: 2 sons Gerald R. [Jane] Miller of Scottsdale, AZ. And David H. [Sandra] Miller of Edmond,OK.; 4 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister Fern Morrison.
Friends are invited to a funeral service on Tuesday December 9 at 10am in the J.W. Embser & Sons F.H. in Wellsville with Rev. Lee Williams presiding. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery and donations may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.

MEGAN K. SCIOTTI, 16, of 1 Noble Street, died Thursday January 8, 2004 in the Town of Hinsdale as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. She was born March 18, 1987 in Wellsville, the daughter of Donald P. and Rosemarie (Heller) Sciotti. Megan was a very active member of the junior class at Genesee Valley High School and was a member of the Concert band, Marching band, jazz band and swim club. She was a member of the Gospel Fellowship Church in Belmont and was involved in youth activities at several churches in the Belmont and Angelica area.
She is survived be her mother, Rosemarie Sciotti of Belmont, her father and stepmother, Don and Kathy Sciotti of Scio, a brother, Vincent Sciotti of Scio, a stepsister, June Deuell of Scio, a stepbrother, Noel Deuell of Buttnor, NC paternal grandmother, Mary Hope Sciotti of Hornell, several aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
She was predeceased by her paternal grandfather, Donald A. Sciotti, maternal grandparents, Benson and Ferrol Heller and a brother, William Michael Sciotti.
Friends are invited to call on MONDAY from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. at the J. W. Embser Sons Funeral Home Inc. in BELMONT. The funeral will be TUESDAY January 13, 2004 at 4:00 pm. at the Gospel Fellowship Church on Hood Road in Belmont with Pastor Patrick Lyons presiding. Michael D. Winans, 46, of 2 Carnes Court, passed away on October 25, 2003 in his home. He was born on April 29, 1957 in Wellsville to Lloyd and Delores (Walsh) Winans. Mike graduated from Wellsville High School in 1976 and from Breeden’s School of Welding in Genesee, PA. He worked for Foster Wheeler and retired from Air Preheater. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Wellsville and was a life member the Willing Fire Department.
Surviving beside his parents of Wellsville: paternal grandmother Lucille Kellogg of Roulette, PA.; a son Jason Winans of Mt. Morris, 2 daughters Mary Lue [Jason] Cline of Mt. Morris and Angela Winans of Mt. Morris; 5 brothers Steve [Francine] Winans of Woodbridge, VA., Lloyd [sherry] Winans of Andover, Patrick Winans of Boca Raton, FL., Alan Winans of Syracuse and Neil [Diane] Winans of Wellsville; 2 sisters Peggy [Anthony] Kuras of Derby and Vaughnda Bone of Wellsville; 11 nieces and nephews as well as several aunts,uncles and cousins.
Friends may call on Tuesday October 28 from 2-4 and 7-9pm in the J.W. Embser Sons Funeral Home in Wellsville where a funeral service will held on Wednesday at 11am with Rev. Gene Ulrich presiding. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Willing Volunteer Fire Department, the Wellsville Volunteer Ambulance Corps or to the American Diabetes Association.

MICHAEL J. CLINE, 51, of 1055 State Route 19 South, passed away on Thursday, April 22, 2004 at home. He was born on March 11, 1953 in Wellsville, the son of Earl and Genevieve (Costello) Cline.
Mike was in the U.S. Marine Corps, and for many years was employed by Wellsville Roofing. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his longtime companion: Lori Knickerbocker, his daughters: Jenny Lynn Cline of Hornell, NY, Melissa Cline of Orlando, FL, 4 grandchildren: Tessa Murvin, Kristen Bodeau, Christopher Ross, Kaylee France, 1 brother: Patrick Cline of Wellsville, 2 sisters: Evelyn “Maria” Denning of Andover, Vicky Neasbitt of Burleson, TX, and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Also in Lori’s family, 2 daughters: Erica Soule of Genesee, PA, Amber Knickerbocker of Wellsville, 1 son: Wade Knickerbocker of Genesee, PA, and 3 grandchildren: Darryn Soule, Brianna Grover, and Hailey Knickerbocker. He was predeceased by 2 brothers Daniel Wilson and Alan Cline.
Friends are invited to call on Monday, April 26 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the J.W. Embser Sons Funeral Home, Inc. in Wellsville. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm following visitation with Rev. Dennis Wolf presiding. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.

MICHAEL THOMAS LYNCH, 47, of 76 Pleasant Street, passed away Tuesday, September 07, 2004 at Jones Memorial Hospital. He was born June 27, 1957 in Wellsville, the son of Thomas and Wanda (Thorp) Lynch. On September 1, 1990 in Andover, he married Darlene Patterson, who survives.
Michael was a former resident of Hinsdale and Olean. He graduated from Wellsville High School in 1975, Alfred State College in 1977 with an Associates of Applied Sciences Degree, and from Cattaraugus County BOCES in Machine Processes in 1991. He was employed by several companies in the Olean area including AVX, AMC, Zippo, and Keystone Tool and Die.
He was a former member of the Sons of the American Legion. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, watching sports, and was an avid Yankees fan.
In addition to his wife, Michael is survived by a son: Danny at home, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents and a brother: Kevin.
Friends are invited to call on Thursday from 7:00 to 9:00 pm only at the J.W. Embser Sons Funeral Home, Inc. in Wellsville. Following a prayer service in the funeral home at 10:30 am a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 10 at 11:00 am in the Immaculate Conception Church with Rev. Dennis Mancuso as celebrant. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Wellsville. Memorial suggestions include the American Diabetes Association.

Monica M. Moore, of Wellsville, passed away on Saturday March 13, 2004 at the Wellsville Manor Health Care Center. She was born in England, she and her parents, Guy and Ethel Waterhouse Moore, migrated to the United States in 1910.
Monica developed a love of the sea while working at Dun & Bradstreet in Boston. She enjoyed vacationing in Maine during those years. She returned to Wellsville in the 1950’s to help care for her ailing mother and lived for many years on State Street. After her parent’s deaths she moved to Railroad Avenue and could be seen riding her bicycle around town to well into her 80s. She was employed by Jones Memorial Hospital for several years.
Monica is survived by 2 nephews, Robert D. [Hope] Moore of Cockeysville, MD., and their 2 children and 2 grandchildren: and William C. Moore of Elkton, MD and son and 4 grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister in law, Mary Moore of Forney, TX., as well as 3 cousins Alfred Kenneth Moore, Ivon Ronald Moore and Philip Douglas Moore all of whom reside in England. She was predeceased by her parents and her brother Neville C. Moore.
There will be no prior visitation and a memorial service will be held at a future date. Arrangements are under the direction of the J.W. Embser & Sons F.H. in Wellsville and memorials may be made the Jones Memorial Hospital.
