Lorenza F. Pupo, of Manor Hills, died February 12, 2005 in Jones Memorial Hospital. She was born in the Country of Cuba on August 14, 1928. She came to Wellsville from Rochester. She has a niece in Miami,Florida and Rose Scotti of Manor Hills was her representative. Parents names are unknown and her social security number is 263-56-1207. Her home was Manor Hills for several years. AlleganyCounty was involved and she was cremated on February 16, 2005. A memorial service will be held at a later date at Manor Hills Pastor Carol Schwigart.

Rosanna Lemke, of the Wellsville Manor Care Center, died on February 13, 2005 in the Wellsville Manor. She was born on June 29,1919 in Buffalo to John and Anna Lemke. She attended the CrippleSchool in Buffalo and performed clerical assistance for ARC in West Seneca. Prior to living in the Wellsville Manor she was a resident of the Noble Street ARC Home in Belmont. She was survived by a nephew John Hussey of Buffalo. A service with Father Mancuso was held in the Funeral Home on Monday February 14, 2005 at 3:45pm. Burial will be on the Family plot in HolyCross Cemetery
Roy William Austin

Roy William Austin, 67, of South Broad Street, Wellsville, NY, passed away on February 24th, 2005 at his home with his family at his side.He was born in Cuba, NY on October 4, 1937, the son of William Roy and Madeline Violet (Patterson) Austin. Following his graduation in 1955 from AngelicaCentralSchool he volunteered for service in the U.S. Airforce and after serving 2 years (1955 – 1957) received an honorable discharge. He was employed with C.E. AirPreheater for 20 years and retired from there in 1984. At the time of his death he was the owner of Austin Logistics and Austin Associates. He was also in partnership with his son William (Bill) in U.S. Shred and New Tech Transport.On January 31, 1975, he married Judith D. Wightman in Wellsville, NY, who survives him. He is also survived by his only son, William R. (Rebecca) Austin, Wellsville, NY; (3) daughters: Cheryl L. (William) Williams of Wellsville, Deborah (Charles) Spizzirri of Chicago, IL, and Tara A. Austin of Syracuse, NY. (2) sisters: Shirley (Daniel) Shea, and Dalaine (James) Peet; (10) grandchildren: James and Joshua Poorman; Roy, Derek, Matthew, and Patrick Austin, Heather Amidon; Kenneth and Stacey Spizzirri; Mark Smith, and Michael Austin. Several nieces, nephews, 4 great nephews, and 1 great niece.In his spare time he enjoyed driving his 18 wheelers; researching the Austin family genealogy with his daughter Cheryl, was an avid football fan, and especially enjoyed camping with his family.He was predeceased by his parents, William and Madeline; a daughter Colleen and his only brother Dale. Friends may call on Sunday from 7-9 pm in the J.W. Embser & Sons Funeral Home in Wellsville and on Monday from 12 noon to 1 pm at which time a funeral service will be held with Pastor Robin George presiding. Burial with military honors will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Friends wishing to make contributions are asked to donate to the charity of their choice.
MILTON A. [Musty] GRAVES

MILTON A. [Musty] GRAVES, 88, of 4192 B Bolivar Road, passed away on Wednesday February 23 at Jones Memorial Hospital. He was born on August 31, 1916 in Wellsville, the son of Cecil B. and Alma (Roeske) Graves. On December 31, 1937 in Wellsville he married Irene H. Marsh who predeceased him April 3, 1973, then again on December 17, 1977 to Thelma Kear Duke, who survives. Milton was a lifelong resident of Wellsville, and a 1929 graduate of WellsvilleHigh School. He was employed as traffic manager by Worthington Corp. of Wellsville for 37 years. For a time he was employed by Victor Aluminum Works in Friendship. He was also a former resident of the proctor district of Wellsville and most recently Cryder Creek of Whitesville. Milton had sent winters in Holiday Florida. He had attended the Trinity Lutheran Church. He sang with the Apollo Club, appeared in the Lions Club Minstrel Show, and was a member of the Blue Devils Drum and Bugle Corps. He was also an avid fisherman, hunter, and gardener.In addition to his wife Thelma, Milton is survived by a son: Max B. (Sandra) Graves of Andover, a granddaughter: Kristie (Dennis) Stebbins of Corning, a great grandson: Kody Stebbins of Corning, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents on the same day in 1975 and 3 brothers Richard, Lee and Lt. Victor GravesFriends are invited to call on Saturday from 1-3 pm at the J.W. DALE K. JANDREW, 53, OF 1139 California Hollow Road, died on Friday February 25, 2005 at home. He was born February 1, 1952 in Wellsville, the son of William and Argie (Calhoun) Jandrew. On May 21, 1977 in Petrolia, he married Karen Guinnip, who survives. In 1970, Dale graduated from Scio High School and later AlfredState CollegeVocational School in Wellsville. He was a self employed electrician, and also taught for 1 year at the AlfredState CollegeVocational School. He was also a member of the Allentown Volunteer Fire Department. Dale loved the Lord, and attended the First Baptist Church of Shinglehouse and the Knights Creek Evangelical Methodist Church of Scio. He traveled on several missionary trips to Nicaragua,Mexico, Alaska, and West Virginia. He was also a counselor at CampPennuel. In addition to his wife Karen, Dale is survived by 2 daughters: Argie and Jessie Jandrew, both students at Houghton College, a son: Lucas at home, a brother: Earl (Aurelia) Jandrew of Allentown, 4 sisters: Jean (Dob) Howry of Clinton, IL; Joanne Grover of Ashville, NY; Donna (Gary) Fanton of Holley, NY; Helen (Bill) Hutchinson of Scio, NY; several nieces and nephews, and a special friend: Clark Perry. Dale was predeceased by his parents and a brother in law: Richard Grover. Friends are invited to call on Tuesday, March 1st from 12:00 noon to 3:00 pm at the J.W. Rose Eaton, formerly of Madison, passed away on Sunday February 27 at the Highland Health Care Center. She was born on June 13, 1913 in Newfield Junction, PA. to John and Genevieve [Cleveland ] Pati. On September 15, 1937 she married Morris Eaton who predeceased her in 1973. Rose lived in Genesee, PA. before she moved to Wellsville. She was a life member of the Genesee Fire Department Auxiliary and enjoyed playing bingoRose is survived by a niece, a nephew and several friends. She was predeceased by her daughter and son in law Patricia and Michael Moskol and her sister and brother in law Mary and Edward Gotshall.Services will be held at the convenience of the family and are under the direction of the J.W. Louis O. Freeman, 91, of 160 Seneca Street, passed away on Wednesday March 2, 2005 at the WellsvilleHighland Health Care Center. He was born on June 3, 1913 in the Town of Alma, the son of Herbert and Ruby (Amsbury) Freeman. On October 31st 1936 he married Velma Davis who predeceased him on November 27, 1986. Louis was employed by the Sinclair Refinery in Wellsville for many years prior to becoming a dairy farmer. He later owned and operated Freeman’s Garbage Disposal in Churchville. He was a member of the Allegany County Bee Keepers Association, a charter member of the Wellsville FFA, Secretary of the Millport Co-op, member of the Scio Hose Company # 2, a life member of the Petrolia Grange and a member of the Kossuth Mennonite Church.He is survived by 1 son, Ronald (June) Freeman of Andover; 2 daughters, Bonita Freeman of Churchville and Cleo “Ruby” (Harold) Anderson of Bergen; 6 grandchildren, Ricky (Angela) Freeman, Terrence (Anna Mae) Freeman, Yvonne (Gary) Davis, Zelda (Larry) Watson Jr., Yvette Freeman and Patricia Hamilton; 13 great grandchildren, 5 great great-grandchildren; 1 step sister, Linda (Bernard) O’Connor of Rochester, a son in law, William Hamilton of Ulysses, PA and several nieces & nephews.He was predeceased by a daughter, Shirley Hamilton in 1976; a son, Douglas Freeman in 1987; a granddaughter, Roberta Hamilton; 4 brothers, Harold, Howard, Ralph and Donald Freeman; 4 step brothers, Vincent, Victor, Vaughn and Vivian Duell. BESSIE E. TAYLOR, age 98, of County Road 18, Alma, passed away on Thursday March 10, 2005 at Jones Memorial Hospital. She was born December 24, 1906 in Shinglehouse, PA the daughter of Frank and Lydia (Sherwood) Harrington. In August of 1927 in Alma, she married Isaac Taylor Sr. who predeceased her on October 1, 1982.Bessie was a life long resident of Alma, and a former member of the Evangelical United Brethren Church in Alma and the Alma Fire Department Auxiliary. She enjoyed reading, gardening, and washing dishes, but most of all she loved her family and had great concern for others. Bessie is survived by 2 sons: Isaac (Doris Mitchell) Taylor Jr. of Richburg, Phillip (Norma) Taylor of Allentown; a daughter: Elizabeth (James) Grossman of Andover, 17 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, several great great grandchildren and a sister Mildred Yeager of Shinglehouse, PA., as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a daughter: Dorothy McCoy, a brother: Charles Harrington, and 3 sisters: Ava, Lillian, and Lina. Virginia C. Fleischman, formerly of 40 West State Street, passed away on Saturday March 12, 2005 in the Wellsville Manor Care Center. She was born March 23, 1912 in Wellsville the daughter of Robert and Bertha (Arnold) Callaghan. On October 9, 1940 in Wellsville, she married Edward G. Fleischman, who predeceased her February 22, 1989. Virginia was a former resident of Belmont, a 1934 graduate of WellsvilleHigh School, and in 1938 graduated Magnum Cum Laud with a Bachelors degree from SetonHillUniversity in Greensburg, PA. She was employed by New York Telephone, David A. Howe Library in Wellsville, Herrick Memorial Alfred University Library, and the Belmont Free Library. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Wellsville, and the Altar and Rosary Society. She was also a former member of AAUW. Virginia is survived by 2 daughters: Ann (Richard) DeRue of Penfield, Lynn (James) Graffrath of Andover, 2 sons: Edward D. (Michele) Fleischman of Windsor, CO, James (Barbara) Fleischman of Belmont, 12 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a cousin: Robert Nitsche of Hendersonville, TN. In addition to her husband Edward, she was predeceased by 2 sisters: Roberta Callaghan and Jean Williams. Friends are invited to call on Monday from 7:00 to 9:00 pm and Tuesday, March 15 from 9:30 to 10:30 am at the J.W. Embser Sons Funeral Home in Wellsville. A prayer service will follow at 10:30 and a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am in the Immaculate Conception Church in Wellsville.
