Robert M. Heysham
WELLSVILLE - Robert M. Heysham, 92, of 3192 Madison Hill Road passed away Saturday (June 21, 2008) at Jones Memorial Hospital in Wellsville. He was born on July 7, 1915, in Wellsville, the son of Herbert and Laura (Walden) Heysham. In October 1936, in Whitesville, he married the former Margaret Rogers, who predeceased him on July 7, 1987. Bob attended Wellsville High School and was employed by the Village of Wellsville for 46 years.
He is survived by six children, Shirley Heysham and Jane Price, both of Wellsville, Robert Heysham Jr. of Limestone, James (Mary) Heysham and Donald (Debbie) Heysham, both of Olean, and Donna (Neil) Culhane of West Palm Beach, Fla., 12 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a daughter, Dorothy Crawford, and a grandson, Robin Heysham.
Friends are invited to call on from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the J. W. Embser Sons Funeral Home Inc. in Wellsville. The funeral will take place 11 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. John Howard Webster
DUNDEE - John Howard Webster, 59, of Dundee, formerly of Wellsville, passed away Thursday (July 24, 2008) at Hospeace House, in Naples.
John was born June 11, 1949, in Montour Falls, the son of Richard J. and the late Arlene O. Crans Webster. He graduated from Dundee Central School in 1967, and went onto receive his associates degree from Corning Community College. He served one year in the Peace Corps in Africa from 1969-1970, when he contracted malaria and was sent home. John then served three years active duty in the U.S. Army, followed by three years in the Reserves. In 1994, John received his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Alfred University. He was employed by K-Mart, in Wellsville, until becoming disabled due to cancer in 2007. He is loved and will be missed by his father, Richard J.Webster of Dundee; three brothers, Dean Webster of Penn Yan, Daniel (Beth) Webster of Phelps, and Thomas (Lora) Webster of Latham; three sisters, Sharon (Eddy Powell) Miller, Dianne (Judd) Dean, and Maureen (Tim) Clancey, all of Dundee; several aunts, uncles and cousins; numerous nieces and nephews; and a dear friend, Steve (Holly) Trude of Naples.
He was predeceased by his mother, Arlene O. Webster, on Nov. 2, 2005; and a niece, Colleen Huey in 1998.
Family and friends may call from 2-4 p.m. today at the Baird Funeral Home, 36 Water St., Dundee, where a funeral service will take place at 4 p.m. with Rev. Anitra Price officiating. Burial with military honors will be 10 a.m. Monday in Hillside Cemetery, Dundee.

Ryan Willis Evans
BELMONT - Ryan Willis Evans, 26, a former resident of Willets Avenue, passed away Saturday (July 19, 2008) in Florida.
He was born on Sept. 22, 1981, in Wellsville to Stephen and Charla (Johnson) Evans.
Ryan, who had moved to Florida 10 months ago, was raised in Belmont, where he attended Belmont Central Schools. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who enjoyed playing poker with family and friends, and enjoyed the annual family clam bake.
Survivors include a brother, Sean (Kristi) Evans of Batavia; a niece and nephew, Lydia and Kahler Evans; his aunts and uncles, Vincent (Bev) Evans of Belmont, Rodney (Diane) Evans of Belmont, L. Scott (Rachelle) Evans of West Clarksville, Jacky Johnson of Randolph, Dawn (Dale) Burgess of Wellsville, David Johnson of Scio, and Cheryl (Jonathan) Elliot of Scio; and several cousins.
Ryan was predeceased by his parents; his paternal grandparents, Francis and Jean Evans; and his maternal grandparents, Willis and Ruth Johnson.
Friends are invited to call from 10 a.m.-noon Saturday at the J.W. Embser Sons Funeral Home in Belmont, and are invited to attend a memorial event at 1 p.m. at Club Boomers in Scio. Joseph C. Fanton
WELLSVILLE - Joseph C. Fanton, of 3141 Wightman Road, went to be with his Lord Monday.
He was born May 21, 2008, in Wellsville, the son of Kevin M. and Mary E. Mattison Fanton.
Even though “Baby Joey’s” time on Earth was brief, he brought much love and joy to his family and many friends.
Surviving besides his parents are a sister, Gracie, and brother, Jesse, both at home; maternal grandparents, Gary and Nancy Mattison of Wellsville; paternal grandfather, Coy Fanton of Andover; great-grandmothers, Mary Nugent of Wellsville and Juanita Fanton of Andover; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was predeceased by his paternal grandmother, Bonnie Fanton, in 2008.
Friends may call from 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday at the Mulholland-Crowell Funeral Home in Wellsville, when services will be held. The Rev. Ralph Eastlack will officiate. Burial will be in the Stannards Cemetery in the town of Willing.
Memorials may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
Orland ‘Frung’ Frungillo
HORNELL - Orland “Frung” Frungillo, 58, of 60 ˝ Bennett St., passed away unexpectedly Wednesday morning (July 16, 2008) at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Bath.
Born Feb. 7, 1950, in Bath, he was a son of Orland Frungillo, who predeceased him Nov. 26, 1993, and Neola Swain Frungillo, who survives. Besides his father, he was predeceased by his sister, Dora A. “Dino” Frungillo Amidon, Nov. 5, 2005.
A lifelong resident of Hornell, Frung was a graduate of Hornell High School, Class of 1969. He proudly served with the Security Police Squad of the U.S. Air Force in Vietnam from 1970 to his honorable discharge in 1974. He was the recipient of the National Defense Medal and the Air Force Good Conduct Medal.
He was an excellent and gifted cook who was employed for 10 years as the head chef at the former Johnny’s Ristorante on the Broadway Mall in Hornell. For the past 22 years he was employed by the Hornell City School District as a custodian at Hornell High School, retiring this past March.
Frung was a longtime member of the Arthur H. Cunningham American Legion Post No. 440 and the Cpl. J.J. Mooney VFW Post No. 2250 in Hornell as well as the Hornell Association. A lifelong Buffalo Bills fan, he enjoyed playing softball and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He had a unique, clever and dry sense of humor as well as a great memory. Most of all he will be remembered for being a devoted Dad to his son, Tony, and his daughter Maria, and was her No. 1 fan in all of her sporting events.
His family includes his mother, Neola of Hornell; his daughter, Maria (Ryan) Frungillo-French of Rochester; his son, Tony Frungillo of Hornell; his three brothers, John (Margie) Frungillo and Jerry Frungillo, both of Hornell, and Michael Frungillo of Lake Panasoffkee, Fla.; his sister, Patty Frungillo of Hornell; and his aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
To honor his wishes, there will be no calling hours. A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of his family at the Bishop & Johnson Funeral Home, Inc., 285 Main St., Hornell, with Deacon Robert McCormick officiating. Friends are welcomed to meet his family at 10:45 a.m. Friday at the Bath National Cemetery, where committal services and interment will be held with military honors.

LELAND LESLIE COLLINS
CANISTEO - Leland Leslie Collins passed away Wednesday (Dec. 19, 2007) at home.
Born June 25, 1914, in Gloversville, he was the eldest of 11 children born to Clarence Leslie Collins and Carolyn Roosevelt Collins. He was married for 49 years to Emma Stahl Collins, who, along with his granddaughter, Bridget Collins, preceded him in death. He later married Susan HerrNeckar Collins and moved to Belmont. They were married for 17 years.
He is survived by his wife, Susan HerrNeckar Collins of Canisteo; four children and four step-children, Jean Collins Gotts of Clayton, Ga., Linda Collins Farrell of Tamarac, Fla., Terry Brian Collins of Edgewater, Fla., Martin George Collins of Milwaukee, Wis., Robert Rectenwald of Lewis Run, Pa., Cathy Shupp of Fremont, Karen Henry of Canisteo and Bonnie Trevino of Hornell. He also leaves behind nine grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by one sister, Norma Collins LaRowe of Johnstown; and one brother, Theodore John Collins of Colorado.
In his early childhood years, Leland was raised by his grandparents, George and Clara Cook Collins of Fishhouse, due to family health issues. He attended elementary school in Fishhouse and junior high school in Broadalbin and Gloversville. He was employed as a machinist for General Electric in Schenectady for over 25 years, until retirement.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Robertson Funeral Home, 354 Canisteo St., Hornell. Burial will be in the Rockwood Cemetery in the spring.

Mary A. Sheffield
BELMONT - Mary A. Sheffield, 73, of 4149 Cooley Hill Road, died Monday (Aug. 11, 2008) shortly after arrival at Jones Memorial Hospital in Wellsville. She was born Dec. 5, 1934, in Parma, the daughter of Charles and Mabel (Wicks) Garrah. On Nov. 1, 1952, in Spencerport, she married George Sheffield, who survives.
Mary was raised in Spencerport, formerly resided in Hilton and moved to Belmont in 1989. She was employed at Rochester Products for 20 years. She was a volunteer for the Allegany County Office for the Aging, delivering Meals on Wheels, and at the Scio Central School Cafeteria. She was a member of the Jones Memorial Hospital Lilac Twig, the Holy Family Parish and St. Mary’s Altar and Rosary Society.
Surviving in addition to her husband are four sons, Paul (Sandy) Sheffield of Greece, George (Debra) Sheffield of Rochester, Charles Sheffield of Belmont and Timothy (Colleen) Sheffield of Spencerport; eight grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to call from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday and from 1-1:30 p.m. Saturday at the J. W. Embser Sons Funeral Home, Inc. 17 Schuyler St. in Belmont. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Holy Family Church in Belmont with Rev. Jerome Dissek as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
