LEESBURG, Fla. - Sanford Lee "Sandy" Potter, 58, a Wellsville native, died Jan. 2, 2001, at his home in Leesburg, Fla.

FRIENDSHIP - Clair Wentworth, a former Allegany County Legislator, formerly of 10 Queen Ann St., died Wednesday (Jan. 31, 2001) at Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital after a brief illness.
DOUGLAS D. MILLER SR.
ANDOVER -- Douglas D. Miller Sr., 60, of 9 Baker St., died Sunday (Nov. 24, 2002) at the home of his daughter in Dawsonville, Ga., following a long illness.
Born Oct. 25, 1942 in Mount Union, Pa., he was the son of Elmer F. and Gladys Miller. He was married Dec. 5, 1964 in Andover to Nancy M. DeRemer, who survives.
Doug served in the US Navy aboard the USS Dehaven during the Vietnam conflict. He was a parts manager for Dresser Rand Corp., Wellsville, retiring May 1, 2002, with 36 years service. He was an avid golfer, hunter and fisherman.
Doug had resided most of his life in Andover, where he was a member of Lynch Burgett Post #397, American Legion, Andover Fire Department and the Andover Rescue Squad.
He is survived by two daughters, Melanie (Greg) Smith, Dawsonville, Ga. and Annette (Kevin) Perry, Andover; three sons, Michael (Cathy) DeRemer, Richmond, Va.; Doug Miller Jr. and Eric Miller, both of Andover; 12 grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and two loving dogs.
The family will receive friends from 2-3:30 p.m. Friday at the Robertson Funeral Home, Inc., Hornell, where funeral services will be held 7:30 p.m. Friday evening, with Rev. Brian Diffenbacher officiating. Lynch Burgett Post #397 will conduct an American Legion memorial service at the conclusion of calling hours at 3:30 p.m. Friday. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Andover.

Douglas D. Miller Sr.
Funeral services for Douglas D. Miller Sr., who died Nov. 24, will be held 7:30 p.m. Friday evening at the Robertson Funeral Home, Inc., Hornell, with Rev. Brian Diffenbacher officiating. ALFRED E. JENNINGS
SCIO - Alfred E. Jennings, 89, of 4448 River Street, died Sunday (December 1, 2002) in the Highland Healthcare Center, in Wellsville, following a lengthy illness.
He was born November 15, 1913, in Richburg, a son of William and Jessie E. Hassard Jennings.
He married the former Elthea Young who preceded him in death in 1970.
On November 14, 1970, in Gifford, Pa., he married the former Ethel Hannold, who survives.
Jennings was employed in the New York and Pennsylvania oil fields and was a retired employee of the former Worthington Co. in Wellsville.
He was a member of the Scio United Methodist Church and a member of the Macedonia Lodge 258 F&AM Bolivar.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, Edward Jennings of Belmont, Monty (Rose) Jennings of Belmont, one grandson, two step sons, James (Rose) Hannold of Gifford and Carl Glenn Hannold of Joilet, IL., two step daughters, Joanne (Dean) Francis of Knoxville, TN., and Susan (Edward) Young of Ft. Branch, IN, eight step grandchildren, seven step great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers Harry Jennings, and Fred Jennings.
Friends may call at the Schaffner Funeral Home Inc., of Bolivar, on December 4, 2002, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Funeral and committal services will be held from the Funeral Home on Thursday at 1 p.m. with the Reverend Diane Cox, pastor of the Allentown United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in the Richburg Cemetery.
Members of Macedonia Lodge 258 F&AM will conduct memorial services in the funeral home at 6:45 p.m. Wednesday.
