LAWRENCE E. WIGENT
BELMONT - Lawrence E. Wigent, 73, of 5071A Route 244, Belmont died, Saturday (November 30, 2002) at Jones Memorial Hospital in Wellsville.
Lawrence was born on November 26, 1928 in Olean to Verla (Pequeen) and C.E. Wigent. He was married to Patricia Williams on January 27, 1950 in Friendship.
Gene, as he was know by most, graduated from Belmont Central School in 1946 and served in the U.S. Army during WWII in occupied Japan. He was employed by Bausch and Lomb Inc. in Wellsville and later was a milkman for several dairies in Cuba. He was a member of the Teamsters Union and the Belmont United Methodist Church.
Gene is survived by his wife, Patricia; three children, Rick, Sandy, and Mark, six grandchildren, five great grandchildren, two sisters, Shirlee Wilcox and Rosalie Wilkins, and several nieces and nephews.
There will be no prior visitation and funeral services will be at the convenience of the family.
Memorials can be made to the Amity Rescue Squad.
CARL J. BARLOW
WELLSVILLE - Carl J. Barlow, 76, formerly of Riverside Drive, Wellsville died Tuesday (December 31, 2002) in Jones Memorial Hospital after a long illness.
He was born June 24, 1926, in Andover, a son of Vernon and Jennie (Cole) Barlow.
He was a life-long resident of Wellsville. He attended Wellsville schools.
He worked for Dresser Rand, in Wellsville for 35 years retiring in 1995. He was a life member of the McEwen Hose Company, in Wellsville.
He will be sadly missed by his family.
He is survived by four sisters, Irene Dudly, of Sicamore, PA, Daisy Nye, of Wellsville, JoAnn Green, of Wellsville, and Ann Lewis, of Addison, one brother, Vernon Barlow Jr., of Wellsville, several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, a brother, George Barlow and a sister, Thelma Pitts.
Friends may call at the Mulholland-Crowell Funeral Home in Wellsville on Thursday, January 2, 2002 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at which time a funeral service will be conducted by the Reverend Ralph Eastlack. Burial will be at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Wellsville.

CLIFFORD B. GUY
DALTON - Clifford B. Guy, 82, of Dalton, died Tuesday (December 31, 2002) at home.
He was born June 8, 1920 in the Town of Grove to John and Florence (Wright) Guy.
He is survived by his wife Lillian, of Dalton, two sons Raymond and Duane Guy both of Spencerport, a daughter, Linda (Kevin) Whiteman, of Dalton, nine grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, a sister Doris Greene, of Angelica, numerous nieces and nephews,
Friends may call at the Mann Funeral Home in Nunda, Saturday 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with the Reverend Jess Flint officiating Burial will be in Union Cemetery, in Dalton.
Memorials may be made in his memory to the Livingston County Hospice, located in Mt. Morris.
MARIAN L. FISHER
WELLSVILLE - Marian L. Fisher, 89, formerly of 1759 Meservey Hill Road, Wellsville died Sunday (December 29, 2002) in the Wellsville Manor Care Center, Wellsville after a long illness.
She was born January 14, 1913, in Napoli, a daughter of Horace and Florence Whitcomb Swan.
On July 25, 1936, in Little Valley she was married to Joseph D. Fisher who predeceased her on October 19, 2001.
She was a long time resident of Wellsville.
She graduated from Little Valley School.
She worked for the Board of Elections for the Town of Alma. She also worked for Bausch and Lomb, in Wellsville, Westinghouse Electric in Bath and Acme Electric in Cuba, retiring in 1977.
She was a loving wife and mother.
She enjoyed square dancing and playing cards, especially the 500 Club. She enjoyed traveling and liked to walk in the woods. She will be sadly missed by her family.
She is survived by two daughters, Beverly (Vance) Cline of Addison, and Brenda (Roger) Marvin of Alfred Station, one son Bruce C. Fisher, of Wellsville, a sister, Elizabeth Austin of Little Valley, 15 grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, a son, Leslie D. Fisher and a sister, Dorothea Axelby.
Friends may call at the Mulholland-Crowell Funeral Home on Friday January 3, 2003 from 10 a.m. to noon at which time a funeral service will be conducted by the Reverend Gloria Gay of the First Baptist Church, of Addison.
Burial will be at the convenience of the family in the Stannards Cemetery in the Town of Willing.

VIRGINIA M. RYAN
WELLSVILLE - Virginia M. Ryan, 86, of 191 Scott Ave., died Monday (December 30, 2002) at home.
She was born August 11, 1916, in Wellsville, a daughter of Ronald M. Stannard and Irene (O'Leary) Stannard.
On January 8, 1937, in Bradford, PA., she married Renold Florentine Jr., who predeceased her. On July 19, 1969, in East Aurora, she married Michael E. Ryan who died May 14, 1982. She was a former resident of Bradford, and Buffalo. She graduated from St. Bernard High School, in Bradford, and worked for several years in Bradford.
She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Wellsville.
Survivors include a son, Jack (Rose Marie) Florentine of Wellsville, a daughter, Judith Florentine, of Wellsville, four grandchildren and six great grandchildren and a great, great grand daughter, several cousins, an uncle Dow Stannard and a special friend Mary Burdick.
There will be no prior visitation. Friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Friday January 3, 2003 in the Immaculate Conception Church in Wellsville. The Reverend Leo Gallina will officiate and burial will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
LYLE R. HARDER
WELLSVILLE - Lyle R. Harder, 85, of 72 Maple Avenue, died Wednesday (January 8, 2003) at Jones Memorial Hospital in Wellsville.
He was born on January 20, 1917, in Wellsville, a son of Bert L. and Hazel (Myers) Harder.
On November 18, 1984, in Wellsville, her married Jeannette Geoppner Leney who survives.
Lyle's family moved from Wellsville to Olean in 1923 where he graduated from Olean High School in 1935. He served in the U.S. Army Transportation Corps in the European Theater of Operation from 1943 to 1946 and earned four Battle Stars. He was employed by Olean Glass, which became Thatcher Glass in 1939. He held various positions in Elmira, St. Louis, MO., St. Paul, MN. and Rochester. He retired in 1984 as Regional Sales Manager and moved back to Wellsville.
He was a member of the Wellsville Elks Lodge # 1495, Morrison Hayes American Legion Post #702 in Wellsville, the Frank B. Church V.F.W. Post # 2530 in Wellsville, the Wellsville Country Club and the Wellsville Moose Lodge #601.
Surviving in addition to his wife, are one son, Geoffrey (Christine) Harder of Rochester, and one daughter, Karin (Ross) Lewis of East Brunswick, N.J. and three grandchildren.
There will be no prior visitation.
Friends are invited to a memorial service on Saturday January 11, at 2 p.m. at the J.W. Embser Sons Funeral Home Inc., in Wellsville with members of the Elks Lodge and the American Legion conducting the service.
Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Wellsville.
Memorial suggestions include the Wellsville Volunteer Ambulance Corps.
