JAMES R. FANTAUZZO
ROCHESTER - James R. Fantauzzo, formerly of Belmont, died Wednesday (January 22, 2003).
He was an Army Veteran of World War II, proprietor of Helendale Sheet Metal and the developer and owner, with his wife Margaret, of Park Meadow Camp Grounds in Belmont. He was an avid bowler and a member of the 5th Ward Mens Club and the American Legion Post # 0808 of Belmont.
Mr. Fantauzzo is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 64 years, Margaret J. (Vetromile) Fantauzzo, three children, Dr. A. James Phd. (Linda) Fantauzzo, Richard A. Fantauzzo, Commander USN (Ret), Linda (David) Fantauzzo-Smith, 10 grandchildren, Timothy (Misty), Todd (Aimee), Stacey (Jeremy) Schlotzhaurer, Valerie (Derek) Newcomb, Scott (Carol), Laurel, Allan, Michael, Jason and Lisa LaVilla, seven great grandchildren, sisters, Nina (Gordon) DiBattisto, Mary (Joe) Flo, Elvira (Angelo) Domizio, brothers Anthony, and Joseph (Gail) Fantauzzo, many nieces and nephews, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.
His family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Paul W. Harris Funeral Home Inc., at 570 Kings Highway South (corner of Titus Avenue). Friends are invited to meet the family at 11 a.m. Monday at the Holly Cross Church for a Funeral Mass. Interment will be in the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
Memorials may be directed to the Amity Rescue Squad, Belmont, NY., 14813

C. WILLIAM GRASTORF
WELLSVILLE - C. William Grastorf, 96, of 4192A Bolivar Road, Wellsville, died Friday (January 31, 2003) in Jones Memorial Hospital after a long illness.
He was born on April 26, 1906, in Wellsville, the son of John and Elizabeth Gregory Grastorf.
On August 14, 1928, in Wellsville, he married Marie Cornwell who predeceased him on September 10, 1998. They had been married for 70 years.
He was a life-long resident of Wellsville and attended Wellsville Schools.
He was a member of the Wellsville First United Methodist Church.
He had been employed by Scoville Brown, in Wellsville and later at C&G Wheel Puller in Scio.
He truly enjoyed the outdoors especially caring for his trees on his tree farm. He also enjoyed small game hunting. He was an avid Yankee's baseball fan and liked to watch baseball. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be sadly missed by his family.
He is survived by two sons, C. William (Jean) Grastorf Jr., of St. Petersburg, FL., John (Rose) Grastorf, of California, MD., two daughters, Donna (Edward) Sroka of St. Petersburg, and Liz (Pete) Buchholz of Wellsville, six grandchildren, one great grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his loving wife of 70 years, Marie Cornwell Grastorf, two brothers Fred Grastorf and John Grastorf, and two sisters Elizabeth Boll and Gladys Reuning.
There will be no visitation observed. There will be a service at the convenience of the family. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Wellsville.
Arrangements are by the Mulholland-Crowell Funeral Home in Wellsville.
The family suggests that memorials be made to the David A. Howe Library in Wellsville or to the charity of the donor's choice.

SHIRLEY TABER BURR
WELLSVILLE - Shirley Taber Burr, formerly of Scio died Wednesday (January 29, 2003).
She was the wife of the late Alanson Andrew Jackson Burr Jr.,
Mrs. Burr and her husband owned the Wellsville Bake Shop and her husband was Post Master and Supervisor of the U.S. Post Office in Scio, NY.
She was the mother of Cheryl L. (Richard) Holden, Gail (Dennis) Rounsville, Wendy (Jack) Kinney, Andrew J. Burr and Pam (Joseph) Carapella. She was a sister of the late Dorothy Lyon and Lee (Ruth) Taber of Belfast, she is also survived by nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
There will be no prior visitation.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.

ROBERTA ALICIA MARIA MENDONSA
WELLSVILLE - Roberta Alicia Maria Mendonsa, formerly of 45 1/2 South Brooklyn Avenue, died Friday (January 31, 2003) in the Wellsville Manor Care Center.
She was a daughter of William E. Mendonsa and Mary Ann O'Connor.
Roberta was known to all as "Bobbie" and was the house keeper for the Immaculate Conception Church Rectory for many years. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church, the Legion of Mary and the Altar and Rosary Society.
Survivors include two nieces Maeneen Hendrick, of Wellsville, Kathleen (Kurt) Marble of Harvard, MA., two grand nieces and four grand nephews, one great grand niece and one great grand nephew, a special friend and care giver Donna Butts.
She was predeceased by two sisters, Margaret Hawes and Mary Aide Dwyer.
There will be no prior visitation. On Friday, February 7, 2003, friends are invited to a Prayer Service at 10:30 a.m. in the J.W. Embser Sons Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11 a.m. in the Immaculate Conception Church with the Reverend Dennis Wolf officiating. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Immaculate Conception School.

GLADE DORR WEIMER
WELLSVILLE - Glade Dorr Weimer, 89, passed away peacefully and with dignity, Thursday (January 30, 2003) at his winter residence in Naples FL. surrounded by family members, friends and acquaintances.
Born August 3, 1913 on Startwell Creek in Potter County, PA. he was a son of Ray Otis and Carrie Hitchcock Weimer. He attended Roulette High School in Roulette, PA. and the Westbrook Academy in Olean, becoming the first member of his family to receive higher education.
On February 2, 1938, at the Methodist Parsonage , in Wellsville, he was united in holy matrimony with Valera Fessenden also of Roulette.
Glade was employed in the accounting profession with the Sinclair Oil Refining Company, Hanley and Byrd Oil Producers, Harry Graves and Son, Ford and Peckham and the Air Preheater Company all in the Western New York and Northern Pennsylvania area. In 1954, he began a travel trailer rental business and grew it into the Stannards Mobilehome Sales Company in Wellsville that included several rental properties and two mobile home parks. He retired in 1987, but remained active in family and travel until his death.
In the 1950's Mr. Weimer was on the Wellsville Central School Board and he served actively in the Willing Volunteer Fire Department for over 50 years. He was instrumental in the formation of the Stannards Cooperative Water System and the Willing Fire Department.
His hobbies included camping, square dancing, bridge and euchre, traveling and the general enjoyment of meeting and conversing with people during his many trips around the United States, Canada, Mexico and Europe. He was an avid keeper of his ancestral history and would trace his family's arrival in the United States in 1830 through written material as well as pictures, many of which date to the mid-1800s.
He was predeceased by his twin sister Gladys, sister Venetta (Caulkins) and brothers Rayburn, Cecil and Ronald. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, two sons, Philip (Diana) of Wellsville and Dennis (Kathleen) of Fort Myers Beach, FA., four grandchildren, five great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. His physical presence will be missed, but his wonderful spirit will live on.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in the Wellsville, area. in lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Glade's memory be made to the Stannards Methodist Church or a hospice center in the donor's local area.
Local arrangements are under the direction of the J.W. Embser Sons Funeral Home in Wellsville.

ROSE MARIE HUBBARD
WELLSVILLE - Rose Marie Hubbard, 80, of 140 Main Street, Wellsville, died Monday (February 3, 2003) in her residence surrounded by her daughter Thea and son in law/son Chuck Ackerman, after a brief illness.
She was born on January 2, 1923 , in Whitesville, a daughter of William and Kathleen Rohrabacher Skillman.
On April 8, 1944, in Whitesville, she was married to Melvin D. Hubbard who predeceased her on May 28, 1979.
She attended Whitesville Central School graduating in 1940. She was a long-time resident of Wellsville.
She was a member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church of Wellsville.
She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be sadly missed by her family.
She had worked as a store clerk in Grant's Department Store, in Wellsville, the Big N, in Hornell and in Wellsville, the Family Bargain Center, in Hornell, and for the Welch's Juice Company. She retired in January 1976.
She was a life member of Jones Memorial Hospital, Ladies Auxiliary, and past Corresponding Secretary. Her favorite job was working in the Gift Shop at the hospital. She was the past president and Secretary of the Mulberry Twig and attended Cherry Circle Club, in Whitesville, for over 50 years. She was the secretary of the Womens Christian Temperance Union (WCTU) and a Deaconess at the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church for 21 years. She was a past Sunday School Teacher and Financial Secretary at the Christian Temple and past Sunday School Teacher and member of the choir at the Whitesville Methodist Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Thea (Chuck) Ackerman of Wellsville, Marlee Meyer of Las Vegas, NV., two grandsons, Scott C. Young, of Las Vegas, and Thomas R. Young, of Las Vegas and one sister-in-law, Florence Skillman, of Wellsville.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Melvin D. Hubbard, a daughter Roxanne Hubbard, two grandsons, Benjamin Paul Ackerman and Steven R. Young, three sisters, Christine Waters, Lida Mae Skillman, Erla Eloise Skillman and one brother Franklin A. Skillman.
Friends may call at the Mulholland-Crowell Funeral Home on Thursday, February 6, 2003 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 7, 2003 at the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, in Wellsville, and will be officiated by the Reverend Michael Brady. Burial will be at the Whitesville Rural Cemetery in Whitesville.
The family suggests that memorials be made to the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, in Wellsville, or to the Jones Memorial Hospital in Wellsville.
