Bernadine Barrickman Feathers
KNOXVILLE, Tenn.- Bernadine Barrickman Feathers, 78, of 6900 Kings Crossing Way, Knoxville, died Saturday (Oct. 2, 1999).
She was born Sept. 16, 1921, in Adolph, W. Va., the daughter of Lewis M. and Emsie Godwin Barrickman. She moved to Jamestown in 1963 and was employed by the former Marine Midland Bank for many years.
She was a loving wife, mother and sister who will be sadly and greatly missed by her family.
Surviving are her stepmother, Beatrice Barrickman of Dailey, W. Va.; a daughter, Karen Feathers Collins of Knoxville; two grandchildren: Robbie and Kimberly Collins, both of Chicago; two sisters: Cordella Horan of Ashville and Norma Wamsley of Monterville, W. Va.; and four brothers: Emmett Barrickman of Rockford, Ill., Willard L. Kelley of Buckhannon, W. Va., Carroll Barrickman of Barberton, Ohio, and Dana Barrickman of Dailey, W. Va.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, R.S. Feathers; and a sister, Jean Barrickman. Arrangements were by the Rose Mortuary Inc., Knoxville.
John David Glady
WARREN - John David Glady, 70, of 124 Oak St., died at 11:59 a.m. Tuesday (Sept. 21, 1999) in Hamot Medical Center.
He was born Dec. 18, 1928, in Bradford, the son of the late Frederick and Myrtle Shine Glady. A Warren resident most of his life, he was employed by the Warren State Hospital for 40 years.
He was a member of the Joseph Warren Lodge No. 726, the Zem Zem Shriners, American Legion Post 135, Coudersport Consistory and Warren Police Auxiliary.
He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Pauline Zerbe Glady; two daughters: Patricia Hudak and Barbara Johnson of Tampa, Fla.; three grandchildren; a sister, Burlis Valarius of Bradford; and a brother, Norman Glady of Bradford.
He was preceded in death by two sisters: Violet and Gladys Glady. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. today in the First Church of the Nazarene. The Rev. Marcus Briggs will officiate.
Burial will be in Warren County Memorial Park. Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service today in the church. Memorials may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children, 1645 W. 8th St., Erie, Pa., 16505. Arrangements are by the Peterson-Blick Funeral Home.
Robert Kraig Johnson
LAKELAND, Fla.- Robert Kraig Johnson, 47, formerly of Jamestown and Bemus Point, died Wednesday (Sept. 29, 1999) in Lakeland Regional Medical Center. A Florida resident since 1968, he was born March 1, 1952, in Warren.
He was employed as a service technician by Central Foods in Lakeland and was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2297. While in Bemus Point, he was a member of St. Timothy Lutheran Church.
Surviving are his mother, Ruth Alice Johnson of Jamestown; two stepdaughters: Jennifer Rocha of Lakeland and Juanita Tennison of Mulberry, Fla.; a stepson, Doug Tennison of Lakeland; four grandchildren; and two brothers: Dennis Johnson of Lakeland and Jeffrey Johnson of Jamestown.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert K. Johnson, in 1974. A memorial service was held Sunday in the New Horizon Fellowship Church, Lakeland.
Burial was in the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell with full military honors. Arrangements were by the Lanier Funeral Home, Lakeland.
Ralph Vincent Delcamp
STOCKTON - Ralph Vincent Delcamp, 74, of Coe Road, Brocton, died Sunday (Nov. 14, 1999) in Brooks Memorial Hospital, Dunkirk. A lifetime resident, he was born in Portland, N.Y., the son of the late Bert Sr. and Eva Johnson Delcamp and was raised by James and Blanch Delcamp Doorman.
He was employed by the town of Stockton highway department as an equipment operator for 35 years, retiring in 1983. He collected antique tractors and was a member of the Chautauqua Antique Equipment Association.
Surviving are his wife, Genevieve Palmer Delcamp, whom he married Dec. 8, 1947; three sons: James Delcamp of Brocton, Alan Delcamp of Stockton and Robert Delcamp of Mayville; two daughters: Darlene Bush of Findley Lake and Mary Stoll of Brocton; 14 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three half-brothers: Bert Delcamp Jr. of Silver Creek, and Edwin and Wayne Delcamp of Brocton; and six half-sisters: Shirley Becker, Winifred Noftsker, Belva Burton and Diana Giambra, all of Brocton, Ester Noel of Florida and Rachel Marcznski of Dunkirk.
He was preceded in death by two half-brothers, Dewy and Merle Delcamp. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Morse Funeral Home, Brocton. The Rev. Gordon Spiller will officiate. Interment will be in the Stockton Greenwood Cemetery. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
Dale W. Pope
DUNKIRK - Dale W. Pope, 59, of Park Shore Health Care Center, formerly of Fredonia, died at 9:58 a.m. Sunday (Nov. 14, 1999) in Brooks Memorial Hospital.
He was born May 18, 1940, in Silver Creek, the son of the late Lloyd and Olivia Thuman Pope. He attended Forestville Central School and was a member of Teamsters Local 649. He enjoyed carpentry work, grape farming, fishing and NASCAR.
Surviving are three daughters: Peggy Panek and Connie Pope of Fredonia and Rebecca Yacklon of Dunkirk; three sons: Wayne and Chris Pope, both of Fredonia, and Lance Pope of Cassadaga; 14 grandchildren; and one stepsister. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Riles Funeral Home, 39 Main St., Forestville. The Rev. Judith L. Scott, pastor of the Forestville United Methodist Church, will officiate.
Burial will be in Evergreen Lawn Cemetery, town of Hanover. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
Lillian B. Kreusch Worth
CLYMER - Lillian B. Kreusch Worth, 83, of Trailer Park Road, formerly of North State Street, Ripley, died Sunday (Nov. 14, 1999) in Westfield Memorial Hospital. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Mathews Funeral Home, 104 W. Main St., Ripley.
Gladys J. Zwieg
Gladys J. Zwieg, 65, of 28 D Bradmar Circle, died at 11:45 p.m. Saturday (Nov. 13, 1999) in her home. An area resident for the last 17 years, she was born March 2, 1934, in Jamestown, the daughter of Palmer and Annastasia Philips Palmer.
She was a 1952 graduate of Chautauqua Central School and attended Texas Tech University.
She was a 1956 graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology, a 1971 graduate of Jamestown Community College and a 1973 graduate of the State College at Fredonia.
She was employed as an activities director at the former Fenton Park Nursing Home, a teacher in the Jamestown School District and a retail buyer for Sibley Corp. and B. Forman Co. in Rochester.
Surviving are two sons: Eric Zwieg of Atlanta and Ivan Zwieg of Jamestown; a daughter, Liza Alm of Jamestown; five grandchildren: Jessica and Jacob Zwieg, Stefan, Corey and Jonathan Alm, all of Jamestown; and a brother, Donald Johnston of Jamestown.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Heidi Zwieg; and a brother, Richard Johnston. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Mary L. Krahn, pastor at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Mayville, will officiate.
Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
John H. Matha
YOUNGSVILLE - John H. Matha, 70, of West Main Street, died Saturday (Nov. 13, 1999) in his home.
He was born April 12, 1929, in Warren, the son of the late Leroy and Iva Cunningham Matha.
He was employed by McMillen Lumber Co. in Sheffield, retiring in 1992.
He was a veteran of the Army and a member of the Warren Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Surviving are a son, Daniel Matha of Warren; and two sisters: Iva Toole of Saylorsburg, Pa., and Connie Clinton of Long Island.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Norman Matha; and four sisters: Mary E. Simington, Ruby Hannah, Edna Marie Jacz and Leeila Matticari. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the McKinney Funeral Home in Youngsville. The Rev. Marcus Briggs will officiate.
Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Disabled American Veterans or the Eastern Paralyzed Veterans Association.
