Ida L.Foti
Ida L. Foti, 72, of 5 Hilldale Ave., died at 4:42 a.m. Monday (Jan. 31, 2000) in WCA Hospital.
A native of Jamestown, she was born June 25, 1927, the daughter of Anthony and Antonia Basile Conti.
She was a 1945 graduate of Jamestown High School.
She was employed by the Medicine Shop for one year in the shipping department at Cummins Engine for five years and the former Crescent Tools for nine years.
She was a communicant of St. James Catholic Church, where she was active in the Altar and Rosary Society.
She was a member of the Lucille Ball Little Theatre, the Supper Club and the Lakewood Rod and Gun Club.
She was formerly a member of the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary.
She loved bowling, golfing and playing cards.
She was mother and aunt to all her nieces and nephews.
Surviving are her husband, Anthony J. Foti, whom she married Oct. 4, 1947; a sister, Josephine Conti of Jamestown; and a brother, Anthony Conti Jr. of Clearwater, Fla.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph "Windy" Conti, who died Nov. 18, 1993.A Mass of Christian
Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. James Catholic Church.
Intombment will be in the Mausoleum at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the Lind Funeral Home, where a Rosary Service will be led at 1:30 p.m. and a Christian Wake Service at 3:30 p.m.

Donald R. Briggs
Donald R. Briggs, 75, of 155 Merlin Ave., died at 1:40 a.m. Sunday (Jan. 30, 2000) in WCA Hospital.
He was born April 14, 1924, in Dunkirk, the son of Howard and Myrtle Mosher Briggs.
He was a 1942 graduate of Warren High School and served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.
He was employed by Jamestown Metal Corp. as a tool and die maker for 21 years and owned and operated Briggs Amusement Machines and the former Melody Inn for many years.
Surviving are his wife, Jane M. Anderson Briggs, whom he married June 28, 1947; four sons: Randy A. and Grant E. Briggs, both of Jamestown, Keith R. Briggs of Rock Hill, S.C., and Troy A. Briggs of Vero Beach, Fla; six granddaughters: Kimberly Briggs of North Port, Fla., Michelle Nead of Jacksonville, Fla., Lisa Marino of Warren, Elaine and Melissa Briggs both of Bemus Point and Brandi Briggs of Vero Beach; three great-grandchildren; and a brother, Tom Briggs of Falconer.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Briggs; and a sister, Nellie Anderson.
No funeral service or visitation will be observed.

Jeffrey Andrew Bernard
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - Jeffrey Andrew Bernard, 23, formerly of Cassadaga, died Friday (Jan. 28, 2000) in St. Anthony’s Hospital.
He was born in Killeen, Texas, the son of Cathy Cornell DesRochers of St. Petersburg, and Malcolm Bernard of Jamestown.
He attended Northeast High School and played baseball for Meadowlawn Little League, both in St. Petersburg.
He was a landscaper for Lawn Pro of St. Petersburg.
He loved basketball, golf and was an avid surfer.
Besides his parents, he is survived by his stepfather, Henry DesRochers of St. Petersburg; a sister, Stephanie DesRochers of St. Petersburg; a brother, Cameron Bernard of St. Petersburg; two stepsisters: Missy Liberty of Kings Naval Base, Georgia, and Kathy Copeland of Homosassa, Fla.; his grandmothers: Arletta Cornell of Stockton and Virginia Bernard of North Carolina; and his great-grandmother, Winifred Bernard of Cassadaga.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers: Gordon "Andy" Cornell and Wesley Bernard. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the E. Dale Gunter Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., 4100 16th St. N. St. Petersburg, Fla. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery in Clearwater, Fla.
Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.

Martha G Dorman
Martha G Dorman, 75, of 216 Forest Ave., died at 7:20 p.m. Saturday (Jan. 29, 2000) in WCA Hospital.
She was born June 21, 1924, in Corry, the daughter of Edgar and Minnie Price Woodard.
An area resident for nearly 30 years, she had always been a homemaker who loved spending time with her family.
Surviving are eight daughters: Edie Eimers, Diane Rutland, Martha Senear and Shirley Schweichler, all of Jamestown, Rosa Brunot of Meadville, Pa., Barbara Omar of Arcadia, Fla., Margie Lincoln of Pitts, Texas, and Patricia Soble of Ashville; three sons: William and Joseph Dorman and Eugene Ranney, all of Jamestown; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; three sisters: Clairabel Lily of Mesa, Ariz., Francis Decker of Pitts, and Hazel Woodard of Florida; and a brother, Stub Woodard of Corry.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marion E. Dorman Sr., who died in 1966; a daughter, Ruthie Porter; a son, Marion E. Dorman Jr.; two grandchildren: Robert James Porter and Darwin Dorman; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Colt; and four brothers: Paul, Fred, Dee and Glen Woodard.The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Mary Alice Peterhansel, pastor of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Falconer, will officiate.
Burial will be in Mayville Cemetery.

Angeline Galati
Angeline "Angie" Galati, 93, of Tanglewood Manor, formerly of 22˘ Hazzard St., died at 2:30 p.m. Sunday (Jan. 30, 2000) in WCA Hospital.A native of Jamestown, she was born Feb. 26, 1906, the daughter of Sebastian and Concetta Conti Ciancio.
She was a communicant of St. James Catholic Church.
She will be remembered for her love and devotion to her children and grandchildren and as a devoted Elvis Presley fan. She also loved to crochet and cook for her family.
Surviving are a daughter, Carol J. Zeolle of Jamestown; a son, Sandy Galati of Jamestown; five grandchildren: Don Zeolle, Dori Rickerson and Debra Field, all of Jamestown, Lizbeth and Kristiann Galati, both of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; five great-grandchildren; and two brothers: Anthony Ciancio of Jamestown and Joseph Reale of Bemus Point.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Galati, whom she married July 26, 1926, and who died Nov. 22, 1967; her stepfather, Sebastian Reale; three brothers: Sebastian "Busty" Ciancio, Sandy and Carl Reale; and a sister, Carmella Rosella.A Mass of Christian

Ella Mae Coleman
Ella Mae Coleman, 94, of 5 W. 13th St., died Tuesday (Sept. 21, 1999) in University Park, Ill.
She was born June 17, 1905, in Coy, Ala., the daughter of Willie and Molly West McPherson. A member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, she assisted her husband in the affairs of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Farnham and Good Hope Baptist Church in Dunkirk.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Ollis Coleman, whom she married in 1934 and who died July 11, 1970. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Emmanuel Baptist Church. The Rev. Leroy Walker, pastor, will officiate.
Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery. Friends will be received one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church. Arrangements are by Power, Present & Sixbey Funeral Home.
David H. Emke
SOUTH DAYTON - David H. Emke, 61, of South Dayton-Silver Creek Road, South Dayton, died at 1:26 p.m. Thursday (Sept. 23, 1999) in his home.
He was born Aug. 21, 1938, in Conewango Valley, the son of the late Charles and Esther Irene Emke Killock. He owned and operated a dairy farm for 27 years and was a former dairy herdsman for Braymillers in Lawton, N.Y., for 15 years.
He was a member of the American Association of Retired Persons and the New York State Horsemans Association.
Surviving are his wife, Diane M. Webber Emke, whom he married July 4, 1958; four sons: Dennis K. Emke of Cherry Creek, Dwayne R. Emke of South Dayton, Daryl C. Emke of Gowanda, and David R. Emke of Springville; two daughters: Debra I. Emke-Walker of Cherry Creek, and Doris R. Treusch of South Dayton; 18 grandchildren; and 3 step-grandchildren.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Rebecca Emke, who died Jan. 4, 1983. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the Riles Funeral Home, 39 Main St., Forestville. The Rev. Dennis B. Johnson, pastor of the Hamlet United Methodist Church, will officiate.

William H. Gumaer
FREWSBURG - William H. Gumaer, 81, of Big Bone Run Road, died Wednesday (Sept. 22, 1999) in his residence.
He was born July 4, 1918, in Batavia, the son of Arthur and Grace Emlar Gumaer. Prior to retirement in September 1987, he was vice president and general manager of the Buxton Machine and Tool Company in Buffalo.
He was a member of the Tyrian Lodge No. 925 Free and Accepted Masons.
Surviving are a son, Robert W. Gumaer of East Bloomfield, N.Y.; a daughter, Judi Barillari of Clarence, N.Y.; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Arthur Gumaer. The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Peterson Funeral Home, conducted by the Randolph Masonic Lodge 359.
Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Frewsburg. Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service on Saturday in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Randolph Masonic Lodge No. 359.
