FALCONER - Julius C. Schultz, 70, of 14 E. Mosher St., died at 3:10 a.m. Monday (Oct. 4, 1999) in WCA Hospital. A lifelong resident, he was born Sept. 20, 1929, in Jamestown, the son of Julius and Minnie Rudolph Schultz. He attended Jamestown High School and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. He had been employed as a bricklayer through the Bricklayers and Allied Craftsmen Union in Buffalo for 52 years, retiring in 1990. His creative masonry talents could be seen in many fireplaces and brickwork in the area. After retirement, he established an extensive egg collection from all over the world. Surviving are his wife, Dorothy E. Benson Schultz, whom he married Oct. 30, 1964; two sons: Kirk J. Schultz of Hampton, Va., and Jay C. Schultz of Jamestown; three daughters: Julie C. and Lorri L. Schultz both of Southern Calif., and Suzanne Schultz of Falconer; four stepchildren: Kenyon W., R. Charles and Randall P. Hopkins all of Falconer and Lorrel Meacham of Jamestown; six grandchildren: Christine Crick, Trisha Hopkins and Andrew Schultz of Falconer, Christina Wilson of Celoron, Heather Meacham of Jamestown, and Catherine Schultz of Ellington; and two great-grandchildren. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Beverly Eckert; a brother, Paul Kent; and a granddaughter, Lisa Meacham. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Falconer Funeral Home. The Rev. James Ritchey, pastor, of the Southside Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery. Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be made to the Falconer Fire Department Rescue Squad or the American Diabetes Association.
Gleason Frank Sheldon
OTTO, N.Y. - Gleason Frank Sheldon, 73, of North Otto Road, died Tuesday (Oct. 5, 1999) in Gowanda. He was born Dec. 22, 1925, in Frewsburg, the son of the late Gleason and Mildred Morrison Sheldon. He was a 1943 graduate of Frewsburg High School and attended Otto Immanuel Lutheran Church. He was a shipping clerk-controller for ABEX-Corp., of Oxnard, Calif., retiring in 1993. He was an avid reader. Surviving are one brother, Vincent Sheldon of Frewsburg; two sisters: Helen Morris of Gowanda and Barbara Caswell of Erie; and several nieces and nephews, including Jean Hager of Gowanda with whom he made his home. He was preceded in death by a brother, Lester Sheldon; and three sisters: Hazel Opferbeck, Bessie Kane and Shirley Snyder. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Immanuel Lutheran Church of Otto. The Rev. Robert Azinger, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Park Lawn Cemetery in the Town of Dayton. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the Hills Funeral Chapel, 255 Aldrich St., Gowanda, N.Y.
William B. Waterhouse Jr.
GERRY - William B. Waterhouse Jr., 51, of Bentley Hill Road, Gerry, died Tuesday (Oct. 6, 1999) in WCA Hospital. He was born Jan. 16, 1948, in Erie, the son of William B. Sr. and Virginia Gibbens Waterhouse. He attended Pine Valley Central School and was employed as a welder at several businesses including Elmwood Pipe & Tank of Tonawanda, D & D Industrial Contracting, Inc. of Walton, Ky. and was presently employed by Nordic Fabrication of Jamestown. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Surviving besides his parents are his wife, Leeann Fredricks Waterhouse of Warren; two sons: William B. Waterhouse of Jamestown and Weldon W. Waterhouse of Warren; four daughters: Tracey Glover of Jamestown, Braedon, Marlo and Sterling Waterhouse all of Warren; four grandchildren: Gary and Jared Kum and Kody Waterhouse of Jamestown and Jessica Grace Waterhouse of Olean, N.Y.; two brothers: Jeffrey Waterhouse of Forestville and Lewis Waterhouse of Conewango; and two sisters: Donna Lee Tingue of Forestville and Marjorie Lanphere of Gerry. He was preceded in death by two grandchildren: Trevor and Brittany Waterhouse both in 1997; and two brothers: Richard J. Waterhouse, 1970 and Andrew T. Waterhouse, 1987. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the Jordan Funeral Home with the Rev. Raymond L. McGinnis, Chaplain, of Heritage Family of Homes officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
Airman 1st Class Michael F. Emory
GOLDSBORO, N.C. - Airman 1st Class Michael F. Emory, 21, of 3833 Sherman-Ripley Road, Sherman and Goldsboro died Monday (Oct. 4, 1999) in Seven Spring, N.C., as the result of an accidental death. He was the son of Byran and Brenda Marotto Emory of Sherman. Arrangement will be announced by the Spitzer Funeral Home.
Camiller Bernice Coleman Irby
Camiller Bernice Coleman Irby, 88, of 116 Linwood Ave., died at 7:52 a.m. Monday (Oct. 4, 1999) in WCA Hospital. An area resident most of her life, she was born Sept. 2, 1911 in Safford, Ala., the daughter of Willie and Minnie Griffin Coleman. Before moving to the Jamestown area, she taught school in Bessemer and Selma, Ala. She was an active member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church where she served as Sunday school superintendent for many years. She was past president of the Missionary Society, a member of the church choir and a member of the Chautauqua American Baptist Women's Ministry. She was past Worthy Matron of Martha's Chapter 38, Order of the Eastern Star. In 1970, she was named Woman of the Year by the Church and in 1996 was cited for her many years of dedication to Emmanuel Baptist Church. She taught four generations of the church's youth and chaired numerous church fund raising events. She enjoyed participating in the activities of the Chautauqua Adult Day Care Center, as well as traveling throughout the country visiting her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She shared her faith wherever she went. Surviving are a daughter, Mary I. Gilbert of Jamestown; three sons: Roger W. Irby of New Orleans, La., retired Air Force Maj. Joseph Irby of San Antonio, Texas, and Alfred Dean Irby of New York; three grandsons: Chauncey L. Gilbert and Elijah R. Irby both of New York and Michael F. Irby of San Antonio; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Irby Jr. whom she married Nov. 18, 1934, and who died Jan. 2, 1984; three sisters; and four brothers. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the Emmanuel Baptist Church. The Rev. Leroy Walker, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the Powers, Present & Sixbey Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Chautauqua Adult Day Care Center or the Emmanuel Baptist Church.
Kaaren Luparello Lynch
BUFFALO - Kaaren Luparello Lynch, 40, of Buffalo, died Friday (Sept. 24, 1999) in Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital, Amherst. She earned a bachelor's degree in elementary education in 1991 from Medaille College and was working on her master program at the University of Buffalo. She was a member of the Romulus Club Women's Auxiliary and the Medaille College alumni association. She was appointed as a legislative aide to the Common Council in January of 1982 and later became a legislative assistant. She was named chief of staff in January 1998. Surviving are her husband, John ÔÔJay" Lynch; her parents, Oberdan and Elaine Luparello of Clarence, N.Y.; four brothers: Craig of Chantilly, Va., Thomas of Tonawanda, Ronald of Williamsville, and Robert; and two grandmothers: Marion Weichmann of Cheektowaga and Carrie Luparello of Clarence. A Mass of Christian Burial was held Sept. 28, 1999. Burial was in the Mount Calvary Cemetery in Cheektowaga. Arrangements were by Perna Funeral Home.

GERRY - Irene D. Reed, 69, of Damon Hill Road, Gerry, died Thursday (Sept. 30, 1999) in WCA Hospital. Also surviving are a daughter, Mary Irene Reed-Farris of Quanah, Texas; a grandson, Eric Paul Farris of Quanah; and a brother, Alan G. Schmidt of Asheville, N.C. Arrangements were by Jordan Funeral Home.
Marion R. Seaholm
BROOKSVILLE, Fla. - Marion R. Seaholm, of Brookridge, died Tuesday (Oct. 5, 1999) in Heartland of Brooksville. Before retiring she was employed by the former Jamestown Mutual Insurance Company. She attended Mariner United Methodist Church and was a member of the Brookridge Ladies Club. Surviving are her husband, George; a son, William S. Wiquist Jr. of Pomfret, Conn.; a daughter, Priscilla Brogdon of Winston-Salem, N.C.; four grandchildren; and a brother, Alfred Riley of Jamestown.
