U.S., Obituary Collection, 1930-Current

Beeles, Walter A., 82, of Mansfield, NY, died Oct. 4, 1999 in his home. He was born March 31, 1917 in Palermo, NY, the son of Robert and Evelyn Walsh Beeles. Surviving are his wife, Loretta Spychala Beeles, whom he married Jan. 13, 1945; two sons, Michael, and John Beeles; two daughters: Lorraine Couhig and Patricia Damon; a brother, Myron Beals; and a sister, Ruth Falise. He was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Beals.

Underwood, Robert D., 90, of Randolph, died Oct. 7, 1999 in his home. He was born Apr. 18, 1909 in Napoli, the son of Lynn and Ida Potter Underwood. He is survived by two sons: Robert D. Underwood, Jr., and James Underwood. He was predeceased by his wife, Lucille Jerrett Underwood whom he married Aug. 24, 1946 and who died Sept. 15, 1999; and a sister, Pauline Waite, in 1985. Burial was in the Randolph Cemetery.

Sheldon, Gleason Frank, 73, of Otto, NY, died Oct. 5, 1999 in Gowanda. He was born Dec. 22, 1925 in Frewsburg, the son of the late Gleason and Mildred Morrison Sheldon.
He is survived by his brother, Vincent Sheldon; and two sisters, Helen Morris and Barbara Caswell. He was predeceased by a brother, Lester Sheldon; and three sisters: Hazel Opferbeck, Bessie Kane, and Shirley Snyder. He was buried in the Park Lawn Cemetery in the Town of Dayton.

Edgar, Stephen Robert, 51, of Salamanca, NY, died Oct. 8, 1999 in his home. He was born Jan. 25, 1948, a son of Robert and the late Bonita Mae Goodrich Edgar. Besides his father, survivors are his wife, Debi Toussaint Edgar; four daughters: Michelle Edgar, Nicole Edgar, Kelli Zywiczynski, and Kandace Thompson; one sister: Linda Pelham; and a brother: Terry Edgar. Burial was in the Huskey Cemetery.

Fisher, Doris Marie, 82, of South Dayton, NY, died Oct 11, 1999. She was born April 25, 1917 in Little Valley, NY, the daughter of the late Floyd H. and Ethel O’Dell Evans.
Surviving are three daughters: Suzanne E. Sauberan , Linda Fisher, and Linda Czekalski; two brothers: O’Dell Evans and John Evans; and one sister: Mary Loretto.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert G. Fisher, whom she married Dec 26, 1936, and by a sister, Jeanette Randall.

Danner, Jerry Y., 69, of Little Valley, NY, died Oct 11, 1999, in her home. She was born Sept 27, 1930 in Salamanca, NY, a daughter of the late Howard and Gladys White Burnmark. Surviving are her husband, Raymond O. Danner, whom she married Oct 25, 1950; a son, Martin N. Danner; and a daughter, Cindy Lou Danner. Burial was in the Liberty Park Cemetery, Cattaraugus, NY.

Knight, Jessie M., 89, of Warren, died Oct. 15, 1999. She was born Oct. 15, 1910, the daughter of Mary Dain and Alfred Maloney. Surviving are two daughters: Carol Knowlton and Suzanne Shall; three sisters: Isabelle Dorwart, Mildred Huber, and Wilma Campbell; and three brothers: Orville, Kenneth, and Elton Maloney. She was preceded in death by her husband, William J. Knight; and two brothers: Auldrain and Harold Maloney.

Wescott, Grace M., 76, of Randolph, died Monday, Oct. 18, 1999 in her home. She was born Sept. 26, 1923 in Randolph, the daughter of the late Roland and Velma Young Carr.
Surviving are her husband, Robert C. Wescott, whom she married Oct. 19, 1945; a son, George R. Wescott; a brother, Earl Carr; and a sister, Eva Carr. Burial was in the Randolph Cemetery.

Braun, Eva T., 95, of Springville, NY, died Oct. 27, 1999. She was born March 29, 1904 in Greenville, PA, a daughter of the late Earl and Sylvia Greeley Thompson. Surviving are a son, Douglass Braun; and a sister, Bernice Marsh. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Joseph O. Braun, who died Sept. 26, 1985; two sisters: Ina Wallace and Laura Cooper; and three brothers: Greeley, Leeman, and Hilton Thompson.
