HORNELL - Genevieve A. Davison, 89, of Riverbend Apartments, died Saturday (Sept. 6, 2003) at her home, following a long illness.

LEXINGTON, Ky. - Dolores Bradley, 81, longtime resident of Hornell, died on Tuesday (Sept. 2, 2003) in Lexington, Ky.
She graduated from Alfred State College and was a registered nurse.
She retired from Craig Colony in Sonyea, where she had served as both a staff and head nurse.
Dolores was preceded in death by both her husband Charles Bradley; and daughter, Darla Bradley Welch.
She is survived by her son, Bob Bradley; three grandchildren, Joe Welch and Rob Bradley of Lexington, Ky., and Meghan Martinez of Denver, Colo.; and three great-grandchildren.
No service is planned at this time.

HORNELL - Betty J. Bailey, 69, of 21 W. VanScoter St., entered into rest peacefully late Saturday evening (Sept. 6, 2003) at Hornell Gardens.

N. COHOCTON - Althea P. Keeler, 101, went to be with her Lord on Monday (Sept. 8, 2003) at the Steuben County Health Care Facility in Bath, where she had resided for the past two years.
TIMOTHY H. STEPHENS
BATAVIA - Timothy H. Stephens, 43, of Batavia, an employee with the New York State School For The Blind in Batavia for 22 years, died Monday (Sept. 8, 2003).
Timothy was born April 22, 1960, in Hornell, a son of Conner Stephens of Alfred Station and the late Lyla Mullen Stephens.
Surviving along with his father, are two sons, Timothy Stephens, who is stationed with the U.S. Navy at Norfolk, Va.; and David Stephens of Batavia; a daughter, Taryn Stephens of Pavilion; a brother, Jeffrey (Lois) Stephens of Alfred Station; three sisters, Diane Stephens of Alfred, Susan (Steve) Spangler of Sarasota, Fla., and Nancy (Robert) McCabe of Rochester; five nieces and nephews; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Friends may call from 1-3 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at the H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 403 East Main St., Batavia, where services will follow at 8 p.m.
Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery, Alfred.

HORNELL - Delilah T. Horton, 83, of 42 Depot St., passed away peacefully Wednesday (Sept. 10, 2003) at McAuley Manor.

HORNELL - James F. "Jim" Wiley, 81, of 100 River St., Hornell, died unexpectedly early Thursday morning (Sept. 11, 2003) at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, where he was taken after being stricken at home.
Jim's family will receive friends on Sunday from 4-8 p.m. at the Dagon Funeral Home, 38 Church St., Hornell.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday morning at a time to be announced.
JOHN J. WOOD
CLEVELAND, OHIO/HORNELL - John J. Wood, 52, of Cleveland, Ohio, formerly of Hornell, passed away Saturday (Sept. 6, 2003) after a long illness.
Born in Hornell, Sept. 1, 1951, the son of John and Madeline (McCarthy) Wood, he had resided in Cleveland since 1970.
He is survived by his wife, Sherry (Pullin) Wood of Cleveland; his two sons, Devon and Jared of Cleveland; his six sisters, Susan Wood, Cindy Wood and Melinda Wood, all of Hornell, Sally (Mark) Winrock of Fairport, Mary Wood of Shelby, N.C. and Patricia (Mark) Pinzok of Cranberry Township, Pa.; his brother, James (Woody) Wood of Hornell; four nieces and two nephews.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Sept. 9 at The Corrigan Funeral Home in Cleveland.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Wednesday, Sept. 10 at St. Ignatius Church in Cleveland.
Memorial contributions in his name may be made to the American Cancer Society.
MILDRED S. HOUSE
NORTH HORNELL - Mildred S. House, 99, formerly of Seneca Road, died Saturday (Sept. 13, 2003) in McAuley Manor, where she had resided for the past 4 1/2 years.
Born Feb. 11, 1904, in Kanona, she was the daughter of James and Anna Heminway Saunders.
She was married Sept. 16, 1926, in Hornell to George J. House, who died in 1978. ,
She was also predeceased by two sisters, Eleanor Brink and Maude Travis; one brother, Roland Saunders.
Mildred was a graduate of Hornell High School and the former Hornell Business School, and had resided in North Hornell since 1932.
As a stenographer, she was earlier employed by the former Erie Railroad and later employed for 21 years for the NYSDOT in Hornell, retiring in 1966. She was one of the oldest members of the United Presbyterian Church of Hornell, Past Matron of Ivanhoe Chapter #160 OES, Home Bureau and Women's Organization of the United Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Marjorie (Ian) James, Ontario, Canada; and Elizabeth (James) Macris, East Greenbush; four grandchildren, Elizabeth and Ian James, Amy DeWeerd and James Macris; one great-granddaughter, Hannah DeWeerd; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Robertson Funeral Home, Inc., Hornell.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at the United Presbyterian Church, with Rev. David M. Kilgore officiating.
Burial will be in Rural Cemetery, Hornell.

HORNELL - Glenn C. Gottschall, 77, of 2270 County Route 54, passed away this morning (Sept. 16, 2003) at his home.

SERENA NAOMI ZIRKELBACH
HORNELL - Serena Naomi Zirkelbach, 97, went home to her Lord and Savior on Monday (Sept. 15, 2003).
She was predeceased by her father, Edward George Franklin; mother, Cora Mae (Miller) Stephens; stepfather, Burt Stephens; brother, Clarence Stephens; granddaughter, Tracey Zirkelbach; and husband, Donald F. Zirkelbach.
Serena is survived by her son, G. Donald (Alice) Zirkelbach; daughters, Patricia (Rev. Nathan) Dye and Marilyn (Jesse) Cimino; grandchildren, Richard (Nancy) Zirkelbach, Joan Zirkelbach, Barbara (Peter) Chiariello, Robert (Kathy) Lyke, Susan (Dennis) Cooper and Steven (Theresa) Lyke; seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandsons; special cousins, Jeannie (Bob) Brown; adopted granddaughter, Colette Gawlowiez; and several nieces and nephews.
Serena graduated from the Canisteo Academy.
On June 30, 1935, Serena married Donald F. Zirkelbach; they were married for 64 years.
Donald died in 1989.
They lived most of their lives in the Almond/Hornell area.
Serena retired from the Alfred Almond Central School cafeteria in 1970.
Upon retirement Serena and Donald enjoyed being with family and traveling.
Four years ago, Serena moved from the Hornell area and made her home with her daughter and son-in-law in Rochester.
Serena had been a member of the Almond Union of Churches since 1935, and was active there until her move to Rochester. Serena had been secretary of the Philatelies, and a member of the Rebeccah's, and was instrumental in getting the women's prayer group started at the Almond Union of Churches.
Serena enjoyed her family, and church family, sewing, knitting and traveling.
Calling hours will be Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Bender-Brown & Powers Funeral Home in Hornell.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Almond Union of Churches, 11 Main St., Almond. Serena's son-in-law, Rev. Nathan Dye, will be officiating.
A memorial service will also be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday at Hope Lutheran Church, 1301 Vintage Lane, Rochester.
