YOUMANS Elwyn "Peck" Age 91, of Covington, PA, died, August 19, 2006 at Broad Acres Nursing Home, Wellsboro. Born June 25, 1915 in Covington Twp., he was a son of Fred and Lottie (Ferry) Youmans. He was a member of the Covington United Methodist Church. Peck was a talented auto mechanic. He enjoyed camping and Square dancing but his main interests was the love he shared with family. CRONIN Anne Frances (Hall) Age 67 of Horseheads, NY passed away on Thursday February 1, 2007 at St. Joseph's Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. Mrs. Cronin was born August 22, 1939 in Providence, RI the daughter of the late Francis J. and Mary White Hall. She was a payroll clerk at Swank Jewelry in Attleboro, MA from 1957-1960. Anne married her husband, James F. Cronin, on February 6, 1960 and they would have celebrated their 47th Wedding Anniversary on February 6, 2007. She was a communicant and taught religious education at St. Mary Our Mother Church in Horseheads, NY. Anne loved to play the piano and organ and was the organist at St. Edward's Church in Pawtucket, RI. Mrs. Cronin loved her family and friends and treasured the time she spent with them especially her grandchildren. Mrs. Cronin is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 47 years James F. She was predeceased by her husband of 49 years, Dominick Delello in 1993; and her infant son, Frank; and parents, Rocco and Julia Pompeii; sisters, Rose Canny and Antoinette Pompeii; brothers, Thomas and John Pompeii. DUELL John T. of Westfield, PA 59, died Thursday, February 1, 2007, at his home. Born August 9, 1947 in Corning, NY, he was the son of John W. and Bernice L. Thomas Duell. On March 25, 1967 in Westfield, he married the former Gloria Mead, who survives. A 1965 graduate of Cowanesque Valley High School, he served with the US Army in the Vietnam War from 1968 – 1969. He was employed as a bulk tank milk truck driver by Scott Bros. in Rushford, NY. Surviving besides his wife are: three daughters, Angela Duell and Lynnette (Jeff) Cady, both of Westfield, and Bobbie Jo (James Shank) Duell of Mesquite, TX; a son, John H. (Julie) Duell Empson of Addison, NY; three grandchildren, Morgan Cady, Cordell Cady, and Arch Ackley; two sisters, Dorothy (Gary Gill) Shablom of Harrison Valley, PA, and Achie Summers of Westfield, PA; two half sisters, Muriel (John Edward) Pekarski of Coudersport and Mary Kent of Norwalk, CT; a half brother, Willis R. (Sandy) Duell of Shinglehouse, PA; an aunt, Rodelia Webster of Ulysses; nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his father, John W. Duell; and his mother, Bernice L. Miller. ENGELBERT Dorothy T. Of 477 Waverly St., Waverly, NY, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer on Friday, February 2, 2007, at home surrounded by her loving family. Dorothy was born on September 8, 1937 in Waverly, NY. She was the daughter of Gilbert and Agnes Swartwood Terwilliger. Dorothy was a devout wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. When her children were growing up, she volunteered countless hours to their activities. Little League, Girl Scouts, and never missing any event they were involved in. She took pride in decorating her loving home. She also loved to do arts and crafts. Dorothy was a member of the Waverly United Methodist Church for over 50 years. She sang in the church choir and was always there to make her pies for church events. Dorothy was the chair person for the 1956 Waverly High School class reunions over the years. Dorothy is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Albert: In June of 2006 they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary; children, Kathy (David) Shaw III, Al (Amy) Engelbert of Elmira Heights, and Keith (Lorna) Engelbert of Tolland, CT; grandchildren, David IV (Sarah), Justin, and Jordan (Jessie) Shaw, Morgan, Taylor, Alexandra, Ashley, Christian, and Nicolas Engelbert; great-grandchildren, D.J. and Peyton Shaw; brothers, Jack (Alice) Terwi1liger of Waverly, Lewis G. NIXON Harold G. (Jack) Age 78, of Hammondsport, NY, passed away on Thursday, February l, 2007, following a lengthy battle with prostate cancer. Jack, as he was called by family and friends, was born on September 14, 1928 in Corning, NY, the son of Roy A. and Winifred Maltby Nixon. He graduated from Corning Northside and was an Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America. Jack was a graduate student of finance at Syracuse University and earned a Bachelor's degree there in Economics. He was Chapter President of Delta Tau Delta International Fraternity. An Elmira businessman, in 1953 Harold began as a Mechanical Contractor. His company performed heating, air conditioning, ventilation, electric and plumbing on industrial, commercial, and public works projects within the eastern U.S. and Canada. Simultaneously, he developed and owned Commercial Real Estate Properties, including thirteen U.S. Post Office facilities in the Southern Tier of New York. Harold was a pillar in business communities, helping his friends start many businesses. Publicly he is known for his battles against the Elmira Urban Renewal Agency after the Flood of 1972. He fought against the agency's policy of using Eminent Domain to condemn large sections of private land for public use and then improperly planning the redevelopment of downtown Elmira. Mostly he had victories as his buildings remain at the heart of many communities. Jack is survived by his wife of 25 years, Onalee Barton; five daughters and sons-in-law, Cindy and Alan O'Neil of Venice, FL, Debbie and Albert Babinicz of Simpsonville, SC, Patty and Anthony Werner of Castle Rock, CO, Laurie and Rick Guild of DePere, WI, and Jacquelyn Nixon of Rochester, NY; one son and daughter-in-law, Harold G. and Joy Nixon, Jr. of Phoenix, AZ; three stepchildren, Craig and Sue Sabin of Endwell, NY, Laural Sabin of Dallas, TX, and Todd and Jodi Sabin of Morganville, NJ; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Roy A. and Fran Nixon of Sparta, TN, Philip A. and Donna Nixon of Vero Beach, FL; two sisters and brother-in-law, Lucy and L. R. Walbridge of Hammondsport, NY, Kathryn Nixon of Vero Beach, FL; first wife, Lois Greene Ritchie of St. Petersburg, FL; 17 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. An avid bridge player, Jack participated in numerous bridge groups through the years. He enjoyed collecting antiques and collectibles with his wife and had great admiration for the ingenuity of our ancestors. In his younger years, Jack enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing and boating, and logged thousands of hours as a private pilot for both business and pleasure. He is predeceased by his son, Ronald Brewer, grandson, Joseph Brewer, brother, Glenn Brewer, and sisters, Bernice Black, Thelma Bucci, Mariam Widdis and Jean Depio. Bob is survived by his children, Dean D. Brewer of Lockwood, NY, Diane M. Kelley of Virginia, Robert J. Brewer, with wife Zandra, of Waverly, and Richard K. Brewer, with wife Colleen, of Elmira; sister, Jesse McCall of Elmira; grandchildren, Dean D. Bob lived in his home on Monkey Run Road for over 80 years. In his earlier years he was a part time farmer. Bob was retired from American Bridge in Elmira Heights. He was a lifetime member of the Chemung Valley Old Timers Association and enjoyed being around antique farm machinery. Bob's greatest love was for his family. He will be missed.
