(Elaine) Conklin Jr., David (Jill) Conklin and Steve (Anna) Conklin; also survived by nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; sister of Yolanda (Benny) Dannunzil, Dorothy (Eugene) Szkatwiski, Mae (Paul) Lapiana, Nettie (James) Corsaro and the late Villa, Roseanne and Guy. Sandra Ann (Blasdell) Lux, suddenly, March 28, 2005 in Springville. Daughter of the late Charles and Wilma Blasdell; mother of Tammy (Chris) Riter, Stacy (Dennis) Cobo and Jennifer Turner; grandmother of Ashley, Courtney, Jacob, Tim, Josh, Meghan, Douglas, Christopher, Alyssa and Samantha; sister of Patricia (Donald) Barthel, Janet (late Dean) Nelson, Donald (Mary Lu) Blasdell, Bonnie (David) Freeman, Ronald (Ada Mae) Blasdell and Thomas Blasdell; also survived by many nieces and nephews.
She had been the manager of Springbrook Apartments for the past eight years, and was a happy and outgoing person who was devoted to her children and grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Thursday morning at 11 o'clock from the First Presbyterian Church, North Buffalo Street, Springville. The Rev. Katherine S. Evans will officiate. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Hulbert Library of Concord.

Maureen L. Walters, 56, of Wales Center died March 18 under hospice care in Millard Fillmore Hospital after a long illness. Longtime companion of Francis M. Myles; daughter of Lucille M. Donahue of Gowanda; sister of Ann Marie Howe of Wales, Judith Gabel of Langford, John Donahue of Springville, Paul Donahue of Collins and Thomas Donahue of Denver. A memorial service will be held on April 2 at 1 p.m. from the Wood Funeral Home, 784 Main St., East Aurora.

Carolyn Fritz, age 82, formerly of Springville, on March 22, 2005, at the Pines Healthcare and Rehab Center in Machias. Daughter of the late Herman and Nellie (Studley) Fritz; sister of the late Harold Fritz, Ellen Zefers and Arthur Fritz; also survived by several nieces and nephews. Albert J. Schmitz Jr., age 90, March 29, 2005 of Lawtons. Husband of the late Florence A. Joanne A. Newman
Joanne A. Newman, 78, of Leasburg, NC, a former Springville resident, died March 19, 2005 at her home after a brief illness.
The former Joanne Van De Klashorst was born in the Netherlands and moved to Buffalo in the 1940s. She later moved to Springville and where she lived until eight months ago when she moved to Leasburg.
She was a member of the Senior Citizens of Springville and a volunteer at Bertrand Chaffee Hospital.
She was the mother of Lewis of Buffalo, Herbert of Bailey, Colo., Brian of Alliance, Neb., Mark of Aurora, Colo., Johanna N. Agro of Leasburg, NC and Laurie N. Magnole of Bluffton, SC; sister of Kees Van De Klashorst of the Netherlands; grandmother of 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
Robert W. Kester
Robert W. Kester, a Boston dairy farmer, died unexpectedly Tuesday, June 7, 2005, in Bertrand Chaffee Hospital, Springville at the age of 87.
A World War II veteran, he served in the U.S. Army for five years.
He had been a dairy farmer for 32 years and was a member of the Arcade Dairy Co-Op and the Erie County Farm Bureau.
An avid snowmobiler, Mr. Kester was a past president of the Western New York Snowmobile Club, and was also a member of the Boston Fire Company for more than 50 years. He also belonged to the Boston Young at Hearts Club.
Mr. Kester and his wife of 63 years enjoyed traveling and visited Korea and Europe when their sons were on military duty.
He was the husband of the former Emma Wittmeyer; father of Donald (Mary) of Aston, Pa., Lynette (John) Fagnan of Springville, Dr. Richard (Virginia) of Cambridge Springs, Pa., Mary Ann Doyle of Holland Patent, Kathleen of Lanesboro, Mass., William (Susan) of Boston and Larry of Fredericksburg, Va; grandfather of 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday morning at 10 o'clock from St. John the Baptist Church, 6895 Boston Cross Road, Boston. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery, New Oregon. Arrangements were made by the Wurtz Funeral Home, 9287 Boston State Road, Boston.
Yusuaf A. Kathoon
Yusuaf A. Kathoon, a truck driver and member of the Army National Guard, died June 5, 2005 in Millard Fillmore Hospital following a brief illness. He was 52.
Born in Buffalo, he grew up in West Valley and attended Griffith Institute in Springville. He returned to Buffalo as a teenager.
He had worked as a truck driver for the Pepsi Bottling Company since 1980, and had served in the New York State Army National Guard for 26 years, holding the rank of sergeant at the time of his death.
He is survived by a sister, Samadah A. Kathoon of Buffalo.
Services were held Saturday, June 11, at noon from the Thomas T. Edwards Funeral Home, 995 Genesee St., Buffalo. Burial with military honors was in Lakeside Cemetery, Hamburg.

Mark R. Laskowski of Chaffee, June 9, 2005. Husband of Christina (White) Laskowski; father of Thomas, Adrienne, Kelly and Robert Laskowski; son of Patricia and the late Robert Laskowski; brother of Glenn Laskowski; also survived by aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Marjorie Ann Edwards, nee Reinstra
Marjorie Ann Edwards, nee Reinstra, age 73, of Luna Pier, Michigan, formerly of Buffalo, Holland and Springville, died June 7, 2005 following a long illness.
She was the daughter of George and Vivian (Brown) Reinstra, and was a graduate of Bennett High School in Buffalo.
While living in Springville during the 1970s and '80s, she was active in the St. Aloysius Home School Association and co-chaired the association's annual Holiday Bazaar one year. She frequently served as co-chair of the Arts and Crafts Booth for the event. She also owned and operated Fiddler's Green Restaurant on East Main Street, Springville, for several years.
She and her husband moved to Southeastern Michigan in 1994 and to Luna Pier in 2000.
She was the wife of Thomas G. of Luna Pier, mother of Howard C. (Sandra) McAllister of Buffalo, William G. (Margery) McAllister of Alfaretta, Ga., Donald P. (Marjorie) McAllister of Lake City, SC, Judy A. (David) Marso of Holland, Susan M. (Robert) Lux of East Concord, Mary Ann Edwards (Christopher Dunford) of Greenwood, SC, and Thomas G. (Micaela) Edwards of West Lake Village, Cal.; sister of Mary (Jerry) Lynch-Kennedy of Manchester, NH; grandmother of 16 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Sunday morning, June 19, at 11 o'clock from the East Concord Community Church, Route 240, East Concord.
