Margaret F. Fuller (nee Guilmain)
Margaret F. Fuller (nee Guilmain), June 14, 2005, of Sardinia. Wife of the late John C. Fuller; mother of Raymond Fuller, Peggy Galletta, Hank (Penny) Fuller, Dorothy Fuller, Bill (Mary) Fuller, Larry Fuller, Nancy (Mike) Wargo, Joan (Mick) Remington, Mike (Sally) Fuller, Joyce Fuller and Dan Fuller; also survived by 15 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; sister of the late Agnes Amsdell, Betty Morey, John and Mike Guilmain and Clara Jamison. Friends may call Wednesday from 6-9 p.m. at the Smith-Weismantel Funeral Home, Inc., 271 East Main Street, Springville, where funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 10 o'clock. The Rev. John S. Kwiecien will officiate. Burial will be in Sardinia Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Fiddlers Green Nursing Home, 168 West Main St., Springville, NY 14141.

Leroy P. Goode
Leroy P. Goode, 58, of Springville, died Friday, June 10, 2005 in Buffalo General Hospital.
A native of Salamanca, Mr. Goode was a Vietnam veteran and served in the Army from 1966 to 1969. He was employed as a food service teacher with BOCES in Angola for 31 years, retiring in 2002. He also was the restaurant manager at the Gowanda Country Club.
He was a life-member of the Gowanda VFW and was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Otto and the South Dayton American Legion.
Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Cindy Emke Good; two sons, Shannon of Cattaraugus and Christian of Gowanda; a brother, Thomas, of Grand Island; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at 11 o'clock from Immanuel Lutheran Church, Otto. Burial was in Liberty Park Cemetery, Cattaraugus.
Arrangements were made by the Mentley Funeral Home, Inc., 105 East Main St., Gowanda.

Wayne R. Smith
Wayne R. Smith, age 59, of Chaffee, died June 11, 2005 at Bertrand Chaffee Hospital, Springville.
He enjoyed four-wheeling and NASCAR races, and was an enthusiast of shipwrecks in the Great Lakes, especially the Edmund Firtzgerald.
He had been a supervisor at the New York State West Seneca Development Center, Evans-Angola Branch, had served in the U.S. Air Force from 1963-65.
Mr. Smith was the husband of Linda (Tesch) Smith; father of Michael (Melissa) Smith of Chaffee; grandfather of Kellen Michael Smith; son of Doris E. Smith of Springville and the late Raymond J. Smith; brother of Paul S. (Karen) Smith of Springville; uncle of Marcie Buchanon of Delevan and several other nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon, June 23, at 4 o'clock at the Sardinia Cemetery, Route 39, Sardinia. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Chaffee-Sardinia Fire Department.
Arrangements were made by the W.S. Davis Funeral Home, Inc., 358 West Main St., Arcade.

Jerry M. Taylor
Jerry M. Taylor, June 1, 2006, of Springville. Husband of Joan Wie- demann Taylor; father of Kevin (Tricia) Taylor, Scott Taylor, Rick (Terry) Taylor and Jamie Taylor; grandfather of six grandchildren; brother of Douglas (Wilma) Taylor, Eleanor (Ross) Townsend, and the late Harold and David Taylor; brother-in-law of Janet and Patricia Taylor. A Mass of Christian Burial was held Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock from St. Aloysius Church, Springville. The Rev. Lawrence Cobel officiated. Burial was in St. Aloysius Cemetery, Springville. Arrangements were made by the Smith-Weismantel Funeral Home, Inc., 271 East Main Street, Springville.

Courtland "Jud" Burke
Courtland "Jud" Burke, age 74, June 2, 2006, of Lawtons. Husband of Kathleen (Dash) Burke; father of William (Jessica Chapman) Burke; brother of Betsey E. Crabtree, Patsy Burke and Pam Catalano; also survived by several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial was held Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock from St. Martin's Church, Langford. Burial was in St. Martin's Cemetery. Jud was a member of the Gowanda VFW Post. Arrangements were made by the Wentland Funeral Home, 10634 Main St., North Collins.

Bernice M. Baker
Bernice M. Baker, May 24, 2006, of Boston. Adopted daughter of Henry and Nettie Baker; survived by her best friend Helen DiMarco and many dear friends. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Hospice Buffalo. Arrangements were made by the Wurtz Funeral Home, Boston.

Mary Ann Lawton (nee Griffith)
Mary Ann Lawton (nee Griffith), October 19, 2007. Wife of the late Curtis M. Lawton; mother of Sharon (Kenneth) Kittle, Linda (Herbert) Heary and the late Curtis G. Lawton; also survived by seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at 11 o'clock from the Smith-Weismantel Funeral Home, Inc., 271 East Main Street, Springville. The Rev. Fred Beyer officiated. Burial was in Maplewood Cemetery, Springville. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the American Heart Association, Hospice Buffalo or the East Concord Volunteer Fire Department Ambulance Fund.

Betty Jane Larson
Betty Jane Larson of Corcoran, California, died October 8, 2007 at the age of 64.
She was born in Salamanca in 1943 and moved to California in 1972, where she lived in various cities throughout the state. She resided in La Puente and Pinon Hills prior to moving to Corcoran a year ago. In Pinon Hills she worked as an inspector of electrical circuit boards. She enjoyed traveling.
She was the mother of Wendie Larson of Corcoran and Dayton Michael Larson of Phelan, Cal.; grandmother of Harrison Larson; niece of Ruth Schultz of Ellicottville and Dorothy Kessinger of Florida.

Frank L. Knight
Frank L. Knight of Springville, formerly of Eden, died October 13, 2007 at the Hospice Inpatient in Cheektowaga after a long illness, at age 76. Husband of Donna (McClellan); stepfather of Jennifer Semrau of St. Louis, Mo. He served in the Korean War and had been retired from IBM for 24 years. He donated his body to the University at Buffalo School of Medicine. A private service was held at Hospice of Buffalo. Another service and gathering will be held at a later date, with burial in Lake George. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Hospice Buffalo.

Leona Mason
Leona Mason, age 85, of Collins Center, died October 19, 2007. Wife of the late James Mason; mother of James (Cheryl) Mason of Orchard Park; grandmother of Tracey (Todd) Olson; great-grandmother of Lauren, all of Hamburg; sister of John (Kathy) Kroll of Williamsville and the late Alice Andolina. Funeral services were held Monday morning at 11 o'clock from the Schindler Funeral Home, 44 Center St., Gowanda. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Collins Center Volunteer Fire Department, Main Street, Collins Center, NY 14035 or the ALS Association, Greater NY Chapter, 116 John St., Suite 1304, New York, NY 10038 earmarked WNY Foundation.

Robin L. Kurtzworth
Robin L. Kurtzworth, October 21, 2007, of Springville. Son of Bernice (Demske) and the late Leo Kurtzworth; father of Angel and Amber Kurtzworth; brother of Fred and Frank Bodekor, Martha (Cliff) Stone, Leo, Mike (Merry Ann), Joe Kurtzworth and the late Marilyn Bauerlein; dear friend of Michelle Bantin. Friends may call Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Smith-Weismantel Funeral Home, Inc,. 271 East Main Street, Springville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday morning at 11 o'clock from Epiphany of Our Lord Church, Langford. The Rev. Peter Karalus will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, New Oregon.

Pauline Luke (nee Kowel)
Pauline Luke (nee Kowel), age 90, of Chaffee, October 18, 2007. Wife of the late John Luke; mother of Patricia (Howard) Schultz, John Joseph Luke and the late John Francis Luke; grandmother of Peter Luke Schultz; sister of the late Ann Sanders; also survived by several nieces and nephews. A Funeral Mass was held Tuesday morning at 11 o'clock from St. Jude's Church, Sardinia. Arrangements were made by the W.S. Davis Funeral Home, Inc., Arcade.

Robert C. Slating
Robert C. Slating passed away December 31, 2007.
He was born in Ellicottville in 1923, the son of the late Clarence and Margaret (Lawrence) Slating. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, then received his B.A. degree from Rider College and worked as a public account- ant before coming to Springville in 1963, where he was employed as a controller at Winsmith and Robinson Knife, retiring in late 1980s.
Active in the community, Slating was elected to the Griffith Institute School Board, at one point serving as president, and was committee chair for Boy Scout Troop 543. He attended Springville United Methodist Church, where he served as an usher and was a member of the Board of Trustees. An avid golfer, he was a member of the Springville Country Club.
He was the husband of Dorothy Slating; father of Beth and Robin; grandfather of Jessica and Susan; brother of James (Joan) Slating and the late Elizabeth, Joyce and Alice; also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Jennie B. Richmond Nursing Home or to a charity of choice. Arrangements were made by the Smith-Weis- mantel Funeral Home, Inc., 271 East Main Street, Springville.
