Martha (Dolly Bockhahn) Wight, January 20, 2003, in Pine Grove, California, formerly of East Concord, after a lengthy illness. Sister of Wahneatah Evans of Arcade, Mabel (Sis) Artlip of Erie, Pa., Robert, Gerard, Theodore, William and James Bockhahn of East Concord, and the late Richard.

Phyllis M. O'Connor (nee Kowalik) of Irving, suddenly, February 8, 2003. Beloved wife of the late Douglas H. O'Connor; mother of Anna M. O'Connor (James Lahr); grandmother of William Douglas O'Connor and Alexander James Lahr; daughter of Joseph M. Sr. and Phyllis M. Kowalik; sister of Joseph M. Jr. (Chris), James H., Thomas J. (Cheryl) Kowalik, and Mary A. Hollendursky-Flessel; aunt of Brandon, Daniel, CJ, Amber, Ashley, Hannah, Hayley, Amanda and Samantha; daughter-in-law of Jane B. O'Connor, formerly of Springville, and the late Rev. Andrew F. O'Connor; sister-in-law of Andrew F. (Margie) O'Connor Jr.; friend of Barbara (late Richard), Mark and Andrew Hollendursky. A memorial service was held Wednesday morning at 11 o'clock from the F.E. Brown Sons Funeral Home Inc., East Quaker Street, Orchard Park. Memorials may be made to Buffalo Children's Hospital.

John C. Reed
John C. Reed of Springville, formerly of Franklinville, passed away February 12, 2003 at Bertrand Chaffee Hospital, Springville. He was born Nov. 28, 1927 to Bernice and Ezma (Cook) Reed in Springville, Tenn. He attended the old LaSalle High School in Niagara Falls and was a member of the Baptist Church in Franklinville. He was the husband of Mary E. (Argy) Reed, father of John Cook (Rhonda) Reed Jr. of Seattle, Wash., David Alexander (Pamela) Reed of Lockport, George Leslie (Valery) Reed II of Detroit, Mich., Carolyn Reed (Bobbie) Wheeler of Navarre, Fla., Leslie (Larry) Broat of Michigan and JoEllen (Dalva) Hedlund of Ithaca; also survived by eight grandchildren; brother of George Leslie (Beverly) Reed. A Memorial Service was held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Smith-Weismantel Funeral Home, Inc., 271 East Main Street, Springville. The Rev. Derick Dickens officiated.

Husband of Lottie (nee Mikula) Smith; father of Janice Sawyer (John) of Delevan, David Monroe (Cathy Sledz) of Washington, DC, Hugh Smith of Ontario, Cal., Richard Monroe (Sharon Macha) of Houston, Texas, Donna Smith (Robert Nix II) of Murrieta, Cal., Cindy Redford ( Roy) of Hilton, NY, and the late Diane Huber; also survived by eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; brother of the late Thomas F. (Anna Lee) Smith; uncle of Leland (Laurie) Smith and Lorraine (Dale) Weber. Friends may call Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. at the Smith-Weismantel Funeral Home, Inc., 271 East Main Street, Springville, where a funeral service will be held Thursday morning at 11 o'clock. The Rev. Norbert F. Orsolitz will officiate. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery, Springville. Mr. Smith worked at Robinson Knife Inc., Springville for 41 years. He was a World War II Army veteran and belonged to American Legion Post #431. He had been a manager and coach for the Mortons Corners Baseball Club. He was noted for his great pitching ability and could throw a good curve and a big drop ball.

Sister of Wilma Fox, Clarence Wittmeyer, Valera Smith, Raymond Wittmeyer, Nelson Wittmeyer, Verna Koester and the late Aloysius Wittmeyer and Evelyn Regan. Daughter of the late Albert and Clara Wittmeyer. No prior visitation. Flowers gratefully declined. Marilyn Diana Orwat, nee Hampton, died June 16, 2003 at the Albuquerque Regional Medical Center Hospital Unit in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Wife of the late Arthur M. Orwat; mother of David (Elvie) Orwat, Elaine (Dr. Robert) Foreman, Sharon D. Streicher, Charles (Debbie) Orwat and Keith (Debra) Orwat; daughter of Olive M. Hampton of Brigham City, Utah and the late Charlie Hampton; grandmother of Jennifer M. (Aaron) Osborne, Joseph James (Kimberly) Pelot III, Desiree (fiance Brandon McSween) Orwat, Diana and Charles Orwat Jr, Brett and Jordan Foreman, Candice and Michael Orwat, Sarah Orwat, Penny, Saul and Paul Rasmussen; also survived by five great-grandchildren; sister of Wesley Hampton of Spokane, WA, Wendy Zielinski of Rainer, OR, and Christopher Hampton of Rochester. Marilyn graduated from P.A.L. Clowns and was "Minnie the Clown" for 10 years. She worked as a bus driver for Helwig and Farmer School Bus Transportation Company, and retired after many years from UNM School of Medicine, Department of Biochemistry. A memorial service was held Saturday evening at 6 o'clock from the French Mortuary, Albuquerque NM. The Rev. Rey Vejil officiated. Father of Robin Lukowski-Heintz, Benita (Phil) Lukowski-Borden, Tammy (Don) Ciesla, Colleen (Kevin) Urbanczyk and Patty (Joe) Sawicki; survived by 14 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; brother of Frank, Bob, Penny James and the late Ruth Murray; also survived by several nieces and nephews. Arthur W. Bryant
Arthur W. Bryant of Springville, June 23, 2003 following a courageous battle. He was born August 22, 1941 in Salamanca to William and Louise (nee Ramsdell) Bryant. He attended Little Valley Central School and Bryant and Stratton Business School, and was a veteran of the Vietnam Era, serving in the United States Marine Corps from 1960 to 1964. He was a programer/consultant for JBM Computer Consultants in West Seneca for approximately 14 years.
Husband of Jean M. (nee McCann); father of Patricia (Mark) Loveless, Beth (Greg) Gross, Michael (Melinda) Loftus, Mary Beth (Keith) Brown, Sandra Elom, Paul (Lori) Bryant, Pamela Humphrey and Shawn Bryant; also survived by 15 grandchildren; brother of Jeanette Austin, Mary Hagens and Sharon Schaus.

Francesca Nason (nee Wiser), August 19, 2003, of Springville. Wife of the late Herbert Nason; sister of the late Alfred A. and Albertha Wiser; aunt of Patricia Kendall, Robert Wiser and Doris Boberg. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Smith-Weismantel Funeral Home, Inc., 271 East Main Street, Springville. The Rev. John S. Kwiecien officiated. Burial was in St. Aloysius Cemetery, Springville.

Alma A. Radigan (nee Bailey)
Alma A. Radigan (nee Bailey), August 23, 2003, of Boston. Wife of the late William O. Radigan; mother of William A. Radigan, Judith (Donald) McKinley, Patricia (John) Geiger, Kathleen (Theodore) Martin and Louanne (Jeffrey) Brown; grandmother of 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; sister of Alfred Bailey and the late Elaine Patricola. Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock from the Wurtz Funeral Home, 9287 Boston State Road, Boston. Mrs. Radigan was a member of the Boston Seniors.

Belle M. Burroughs
Belle M. Burroughs, 89, of Eddyville, December 31, 2003 at Bertrand Chaffee Hospital in Springville.
She was born Feb. 13, 1914 in East Otto, the daughter of the late Christopher and Nellie (Flecken- stein) Hart. She married Wilson W. Burroughs on Jan. 30,1934. He died March 24, 1995.
Mrs. Burroughs and her husband owned and operated a dairy farm in Eddyville for many years. She was a member of the Eddyville Community Church and the Mansfield Grange. She also loved to crochet and knit.
She is survived by two sons, Dennis Burroughs of North Otto and Gary (Gail) Burroughs of Eddyville; three daughters, Donna (Paul) Randall of Springville, Diane (Richard) Hopkins of Tennessee, and Geraldine (Danny) Hart of Eddyville; 13 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and several nieces. She was predeceased by a sister, Lillian Gogel.
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon from the Mentley Funeral Home, Inc., 411 Rock City Street, Little Valley. The Rev. Merton Burnham officiated. Burial was in Maples Cemetery, Mansfield.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
