Scott J. Schrader
Scott J. Schrader, 32, of East Aurora, died unexpectedly Thursday, February 10 at Erie County Medical Center, Buffalo of bacterial meningitis.
He was born in Springville and was a 1990 graduate of Springville-Griffith Institute and a 1992 graduate of Erie Community College South Campus.
He has lived in Nashua, NH where he was a sales associate with Staples Corporate Center in Framingham, Mass. Currently he was a sales associate for Azerty/United Stationers in Orchard Park. He enjoyed skiing, furniture refinishing, gourmet cooking, baking and working out.
He was the husband of the former Bethann E. Cunningham of East Aurora; father of Ian Andrew; son of David L. and Cheryl B. (nee Norris) Schrader of Glenwood.
Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock from St. Vincent DePaul Church, Spring Brook. Arrangements were made by the Wood Funeral Home, 784 Main Street, East Aurora.

Walter Wittmeyer
Walter Wittmeyer, age 91, February 12, 2005, of Springville. Husband of the late Lorraine (Gamel) Wittmeyer; father of Robert (Calista) Wittmeyer, Marjorie (Tom) Neubauer, Jerome (Pat), Richard (Candy), Edward (Elane) Wittmeyer, Sharon (Larry) Heim, George (Sally) Wittmeyer, and the late Leo and Eugene Wittmeyer; grandfather of 33 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren; brother of Ralph Wittmeyer, Marcella Emerling, and the late Sylvester, Carl Wittmeyer, Henrietta Speng- ler, Adaline Winkelman and Florence Presichel. Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at 9:45 from the Wentland Funeral Home, 10634 Main St., North Collins, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial from St. Mary's Church, New Oregon at 10:30. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Mr. Wittmeyer was a life member of the Langford-New Oregon Volunteer Fire Department.

Richard L. Benzing
Richard L. Benzing, February 9, 2005 of Leesburg, Fla. and Springville. Beloved husband of Marie (nee Glazner) Benzing; loving father of Kimberly (Peter) DeGlopper and Michelle (Peter) Sharman; dear grandfather of Chelsea, Bailey and Morgan. Private family services were held in Florida at the convenience of the family. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Hospice, Inc.

Robert J. Atkinson
Robert J. Atkinson of Ashford Hollow, February 8, 2005. Father of Dennis (Clare) of Tonawanda and James (Eileen) of Sarasota, Fla; brother of Mary (Darby) Shean of Shively, Ken., Doris (Tom) Wright-Gardner of Madison, Ohio, and Richard (Lois) of Cleveland, Ohio; also survived by six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Private services were held. Arrangements were made by the Hilliard-Creasey Funeral. Home, Inc.

Thomas Krezmien
Thomas Krezmien, an Air Force veteran and carpenter, died Feb. 8 after a seven-year fight with cancer. He was a local home builder for many years, and spent the last 16 year as a carpenter/mason at the Veterans Hospital in Buffalo. He had planned to retire at the end of the month.
Tom was a graduate of St. Aloysius School and Griffith Institute High School. In high school he was an All-Star athlete and lettered in volleyball, football, basketball and baseball. Tom served in the Air Force from 1960-1964. During that time he was athlete of the month numerous times and athlete of the year for three years.
He loved all sports and was a local Little League Baseball coach for many years. He played for the Mortons Corners baseball team for many years, where he once pitched a four-hitter (21 strikeouts) over 19 innings for a tie against the Springville baseball team. He played for one season with the San Francisco Giants farm system as a pitcher.
Tom is survived by his wife of 42 years, the former Susan Bates of Springville. Also surviving are three daughters, Maria VanDer- meer of Springville, Elizabeth Skorka of East Amherst, Mary Ellen Armbrust of Seattle, Wash; two sons, Michael of Baltimore, and Christopher of Ashuelot, NH; six grandchildren, Sean, Chelsea, Colby, Shaylynn, Colson, and Siena; one sister, Marie McIntosh; and two brothers, Stanley and Mark Krezmien, both of Springville.
Tom was a livelong member of St. Aloysius Church where a Mass of Christian Burial was held Feb. 13.

Mary A. (Kozlowski) Zielenieski
Mary A. (Kozlowski) Zielenieski, age 86, of Arcade, February 12, 2005. Wife of the late Stanley W. Zielenieski Sr.; mother of Daniel (Vicki) Zielenieski, Patricia (Kenneth) Volk, Dolores Alexander, Christine (Victor) Perkins, Maryann (Cory) Almeter, and the late Stanley Zielenieski Jr.; mother-in-law of Mary Ann Seales of Springville; sister of Peter Kaszynski, Carrie Green, and the late Ida Tucholski, Sophie Suba and Stanley Kozlowski; also survived by 17 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call Wednesday evening from 7-9 at the W.S. Davis Funeral Home, Inc., 358 West Main St., Arcade. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday morning at 11 o'clock from SS. Peter and Paul Church, Arcade. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Arcade Rescue Squad.

Charles Joseph Taylor
Charles Joseph Taylor, 85, of Waters of Houghton, formerly of Little Valley, February 14, 2005. Husband of the former Edna M. Hawk; father of Charles E. (June) Taylor of Flint, Mich., Donald L. (Darlene) Taylor of Caneadea, Karen R. (Ben) Mackiewicz of Bloomsburg, Pa.; grandfather of five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; brother of Floyd (Nellie) Taylor of Portersville, Pa., Evelyn (Rich) Gallagher of Butler, Pa., and the late Wallace P. Taylor and Mabel Timblin; also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Saturday morning, Feb. 19, at 10 o'clock from the Treusdell Funeral Home, Belfast. The Rev. Robert Mackmer, pastor of the Belfast Free Methodist Church, and the Rev. Larry Whitehead, pastor of the Riceville Community Church will officiate. Burial will be in Rawson Valley Cemetery, town of Lyndon. DeWayne E. Moritz
DeWayne E. Moritz of Freedom, formerly of Springville, February 16, 2005. He was born April 6, 1923 in Watertown, the son of Louis and Bertha (Jones) Moritz.
He was the husband of Dolores (Ranlett) Moritz; father of Diane E. (Daniel) Snyder, Larry J. (Kathy) Moritz and Bruce T. (Julie) Moritz; grandfather of four grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Mr. Moritz was a retired building inspector for the village of Springville.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday from St. Aloysius Church, Springville. The Rev. John S. Kwiecien officiated. Burial will be at St. Aloysius Cemetery in the spring. Arrangements were by Smith-Weismantel Funeral Home, Inc., 271 East Main Street, Springville.

Leanne M. Archer (nee Wells)
Private services were held in Baytown, Texas for Leanne M. Archer (nee Wells), 44, formerly of Springville, who died February 2, 2005. She was the wife of George M. Archer; mother of Joshua and Brandon Tyer; daughter of Carl A. and Joyce (Swain) Wells; and sister of Wendy (Mark) Waldorf.

Florence M. Rupert
Florence M. Rupert, age 92, of Sardinia, died February 21, 2005, beloved daughter of the late Asahel and Clara Billings Rupert; sister of the late Laurence Rupert; there is no visitation. Memorial services will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. in the Sardinia United Methodist Church. Interment will be in Sardinia Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the church. Arrangements were completed by W.S. Davis Funeral Home, Inc., 358 West Main Street, Arcade.

Virginia "Ginny" Jerozal
Virginia "Ginny" Jerozal, 80, of Longwood, Fla., January 18, 2005. She was born in Buffalo and lived in Myrtle Beach, SC from 1957-1978, when she moved to Florida.
She was a military wife for 32 years, and was a member of the Women's International Bowling Congress, and bowled in many tournaments. Her hobbies included ceramics and arts and crafts.
She was the wife of the late Maximilian Jerozal; daughter of the late Leon and Hedwig Rata- jczak; mother of Elaine J. (Thomas) Kozielski, Maximilian F. Jerozal Jr. and William L. Jerozal; grandmother of Eric, Bridget, Thomas, Brooke, Melanie, Brian and Matthew; great-grandmother of Gannon; sister of Gertrude Nunweiler, Leon Ratajczak of Springville; sister-in-law of Vickie Siminski.
Funeral services were held Jan. 22 from Nativity Catholic Church in Longwood, Fla. Burial was in Oaklawn Park Cemetery in Lake Mary, Fla. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Diabetic Research Center or the American Cancer Society. Arrangements were made by the North Brevard Funeral Home.

Ozella R. Penfold Kemp
Ozella R. Penfold Kemp of Springville, February 19, 2005. Wife of the late Fred Kemp; mother of Spencer (Geraldine) Kemp of Eden and Arlene (Thomas) Stoops of South Wales; sister of the late Edward and Neil Penfold; also survived by grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Private funeral services were held. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Salem Lutheran Church, Springville. Arrangements were made by the Loomis, Offers and Loomis, Inc., Hamburg Chapel.

Richard J. Dole
Richard J. Dole of North Collins, February 18, 2005. Husband of Evelyn (Polzin) Dole; father of Rick (Deb) Dole, Donna (Tim) Sheetz, Diane (Carmen) Caruana, Karen (Dave) Rhoten, Ron 'Ernie' (Patti) Dole, Colleen (Dave) Lynch and Kim Dole (friend Shawn); grandfather of Danielle and Ricky Dole, Robert and Karyn Sheetz, Ronny and Andy Dole, Gunnar Dole, David and Ryan Lynch, and Alex and Erik Rhoten; brother of Phyllis (late James) Schmitz, and the late Arlene Rechter, Doris (Fred) Bodenstedt and Carlton Dole; brother-in-law of Earl Rechter, Josephine Dole.
Mr. Dole was born in Langford and was a graduate of North Collins Central School and Bryant and Stratton College. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1951-1955. He was past owner of the Winter-Dole Insurance Agency of North Collins; and a member of the Langford-New Oregon Volunteer Fire Department; the American Legion Post 1640, North Collins, the Fire Chiefs Mutual Aid Organization, the South Western Association of Volunteer Firemen; Erie County Volunteer Firemen's Association; and the Knights of Columbus, Hamburg Council 2220. He was a past member of the Independent Insurance Association, the Insurance Club of Buffalo and the North Collins Chamber of Commerce.
Funeral services were held Monday morning at 9:45 from the Wentland Funeral Home, 10634 Main St., North Collins, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial from St. Martin's Church, Langford, at 10:30. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Langford-New Oregon Volunteer Fire Department.

George Henry Pfanner
George Henry Pfanner, 72, of Jacksonville, NC, died Feb. 13. He was veteran of the U.S. Army. Father of Timothy P. Pfanner of Temple, Texas and the late Thomas Pfanner; brother of Bernadette M. Pfanner of Jacksonville, NC, Patricia Pfanner Gibson of Boston, Mary Ann Bailey of Derby, and Jim Pfanner of Florida; grandfather of six grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at Infant of Prague Church with the Rev. Marcos Leon officiating. Burial was in Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the American Cancer Society, 930-B Wellness Drive, Greenville, NC 27854.
