Private funeral services were recently held for Sarah D. Darby Young, 76, of Lake View, who died Saturday, June 8, 2002.
Wife of the late Mryon C. Young, she is survived by her son, Duane P. (Darlene) Young; daughter, Dorothy L. Young; brother, James Howard; sister, G. Darby Bennett; two grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

John Walker
A cremation service was recently held at the convenience of the family for John Edward Walker of Blasdell, who died Thursday, May 30, 2002.
He is survived by his daughter, Stacy M. Walker; sisters, Kathleen (Michael) Kaczmarek and Kim (David) Piazza; brother, James Griffin and two nephews.
Arrangements were made through the Franklin F. Miller Funeral Home.
Ross Getchell
Funeral services were held Saturday (June 8) from Wayside Presbyterian Church for Ross J. Getchell, 36, of Little Rock, Arkansas and formerly of Lake View and Syracuse, who died Sunday, June 2, 2002.
He is survived by his wife, Dr. Christine M. Finck; mother, Joan (John) Redman; brother, John (Joanne) Getchell; sisters, Gail (late Jeffrey) Delbridge, Wendy Getchell, Pamela (Paul) Biddlecombe and Amy (Cary) Ignaczak, and other family members.
He was predeceased by his father, Douglas Getchell.
Mr. Getchell worked at Home Depot in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Ora Sperling
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Thursday (June 6) from St. Martin’s Church for Ora Hamilton Sperling, 83, of Lawtons, who died Tuesday, June 4, 2002.
Wife of the late Roswell F. Sperling, she is survived by her son, Lester F. (Laura) Sperling; brother, Edward “Duke” Hamilton and five grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her brothers, William and Ray Hamilton and sisters, Helen Gallagher and Marie Powers.
Memorials may be made to the North Collins Emergency Squad.

Oliver Kalke
Private funeral services were held at the convenience of the family for Oliver O. Kalke, 88, of Rochester and formerly of Orchard Park, who died Friday, June 7, 2002.
Husband of the late Clarabelle Storck Kalke, he is survived by his daughters, Sally (Jack) Jones and Peggy (Frank) Milano; sons, James (late Kathy) and Thomas (Donna) Kalke, and seven grandchildren.
He was predeceased by two brothers and one sister.
Mr. Kalke was retired from Pine Hill Concrete and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Burial was at Hillcrest Cemetery.
Mary Ross
Funeral services were held Tuesday (June 11) from Lakeside Memorial Funeral Home for Mary “Pearl” Ross, 96, of Hamburg, who died Saturday, June 8, 2002.
She is survived by her son, Merle (Virginia) Lindy; sister, Margaret Uplinger; one great-grandchild and two great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Ross was employed as a receptionist at the Continental Inn.
Burial was at Acacia Park Cemetery.
William Lantzy
A memorial service was held on Saturday, June 15 at 11 a.m. from Wayside Presbyterian Church for William L. Lantzy of Boynton Beach, Florida and formerly of Angola, who died Sunday, May 19, 2002.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Monagan Lantzy; daughter, Susan (Greg) Sowash; son, William P. (Cathy) Lantzy; stepsons, Michael and Larry Sims; stepdaughter, Anne Simms; five brothers and sisters and many grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his sons, Thomas and Raymond (Katherine) Lantzy.
Mr. Lantzy was a World War II veteran and stayed in Europe for two years after the war to work with the American Red Cross. He was a member of the VFW posts in Angola and Boynton Beach and was also a member of the Boynton Beach Country Club, where he worked as a ranger until two years ago.
He was a retired foreman at the Ford Stamping Plant and also managed Quill’s Boat Livery and Carol Ann’s meat store in Angola in the 1960’s. He also was an active volunteer with Meals On Wheels, Operation Good Neighbor and Claddaugh.
Memorials may be made to the American Red Cross.
Geraldine Hilliard
A memorial service will be held at a later date for Geraldine M. “Jerry” Hilliard, 75, of Sun City Center, Florida and formerly of Hamburg, who died Tuesday, June 4, 2002.
She is survived by her husband, Robert J. Hilliard; son, Robert (Connie) Hilliard and daughter, Delores (Donald) Thompson.
Mrs. Hilliard worked as a machinist during World War II. She was a member of the Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Sun City Center.
Memorials may be made to the Sun City Center Rescue Squad.
Doris Donovan
Funeral services were held Thursday (June 6) from John J. Kaczor Funeral Home for Doris M. Vanderhoef Donovan, 83, of Hamburg, who died Monday, June 3, 2002.
Wife of the late Luther C. Donovan, she is survived by her daughter, Lisa A. Donovan; sister, Grace Hall and one grandchild.
She was predeceased by her son, Gary L. (Karen) Donovan and brothers and sisters.
Burial was at Lakeside Memorial Cemetery.
