Funeral services were held Thursday (May 22) from St. Francis of Assisi Church for Charles J. Gerace, 77, of Hamburg, who died Monday, May 19, 2003.
He is survived by his wife, Maryann Fallon Gerace; daughters, Mary Pat Baker and Linda Hafner; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Mr. Gerace was employed as a traffic manager for W&F Manufacturing in Buffalo. He was a member of Hamburg Knights of Columbus Council No. 2220, was past president of St. Francis Holy Name Society and was a member of the St. Vincent DePaul Society and the DAV.
Arrangements were made through the Lakeside Memorial Funeral Home.
Jennie Longboat
Funeral services were held Monday (May 26) for Jennie Stevens Longboat, 52, of the Cattaraugus Indian Reservation, who died Friday, May 23, 2003.
She is survived by her husband, Dwayne Longboat; daughter, Jay-Nee Eppolito; son, Pete Longboat; sisters, Iona Lay, Delores Kaznica, Jane Stevens, Marilyn Stevens and Artie Stevens; brother, Lavern Stevens; and three grandchildren.
Mrs. Longboat was born in Gowanda and attended Gowanda High School. She later graduated from Chilocco Indian School in Chilocco, Oklahoma and completed the New York University Region II Head Start prescribed course of study for the Social Services Competency Based Training Program in 1992.
She was a Gowanda Central School System Indian Education Program Director from 1986 to 1991 and from 1993 to 1995. She was a member of the Head Start Parent Committee, Seneca Nation Board of Election, Gowanda Central School Board and the Gowanda Central School Indian Education Home School Care Program. She was director of employment and training for the Seneca Nation since 1999.
Burial will be in Seneca Park on the reservation and arrangements were made through the Wentland Funeral Home.
Richard Krasinski
Funeral services were held Wednesday (May 21) from Our Mother of Good Counsel Church for Richard D. Krasinski, 75, of Blasdell, who died Sunday, May 18, 2003.
Husband of the late Phyllis R. Antonik Krasinski, he is survived by his daughters, Jean (Robert) Allen, Cynthia (Anthony) Tomfi and Marilyn (Brian) Kendall; son, Phillip (Janet) Krasinski; sisters, Betty (late John) Malysza and Dolores (Ted) Bartorski; seven grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brother, Anthony (late Ann) Krasinski; and sisters, Mabel (late Joseph) Nowicki and Catherine (late Steven) Mendrysa.
Mr. Krasinski was employed as a crane operator at Betlehem Steel.
Burial was at Holy Cross Cemetery and arrangements were made through the John J. Kaczor Funeral Home.
Sister Tobia Patro
Sister Tobia Patro, served religiously for 71 years, dies at 91
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Wednesday (May 21) from Immaculate Conception Convent Chapel in Hamburg for Sister M. Tobia Patro, FSSJ, who died Sunday, May 18, 2003.
She is survived by her sisters, Florence (Neal) Funderburk and Agnes (Walter) Chojnowski; and nieces and nephews.
Sister Tobia was born in Baltimore, Maryland and attended St. Casmir’s School in Baltimore before entering the Congregation of the Franciscan Sisters of St. Joseph as a postulant from St. Casmir’s Parish. She professed her perpetual vows on July 10, 1937.
She received a degree in Education from Medaille College and later taught elementary school students in kindergarten and the primary grades for 51 years in several areas including Massachusetts, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Michigan, New Jersey, Connecticut and West Falls.
In 1985 she began semi-retirement at Immaculate Conception Convent in Hamburg and worked in the art room and soup kitchen. She later joined the Sisters of the Colette Hilbert Health Center.
Burial was at St. Stanislaus Cemetery in Cheektowaga.
Marvin Ford
A memorial mass will be held on Tuesday, June 3 at 10:30 a.m. in Port Charlotte, Florida for Marvin A. Ford, 83, of Port Charlotte, Florida and formerly of Hamburg, who died Wednesday, May 21, 2003.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Ford; daughters, Jacquelyn Cookston, Kathleen Hash and Cynthia Pronti; sons, Richard and James Ford; stepson, Michael Melnyk; sister, Herleen Hutton; and 16 grandchildren.
Mr. Ford is a retired employee of Niagara Blaner Company in Tonawanda. He served for five years in the U.S. Army during World War II and the Pacific Theatre and received three bronze stars. He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 110 and VFW No. 5690, both in Port Charlotte, Florida.

Pearl Griffith
A memorial service will be held on Saturday (May 31) from the Long Funeral Home in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania for Pearl M. Griffith, 84, of Bethlehem, who died Thursday, May 15, 2003.
Wife of W. Robert Griffith and the late Thomas Dale Fleming, she is survived by her son, Kerry D. Fleming; daughter, Rheta D. Strong; stepdaughters, Susan Davy, Stephanie L. Griffith and Deborah Stephens; two grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.

Ida Krazmien
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 29 at 10:30 a.m. from Lombardo Funeral Home in Orchard Park for Ida Ellen Battistelli Krazmien, 85, of Hamburg, who died Sunday, May 25, 2003.
She is survived by her husband, Harry P. Krazmien; children, Daryl (Laura) and Rev. Dale Ellen Krazmien; four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and other relatives.
She was predeceased by her children, Sally, Dwayne and Dawn Krazmien.
Mrs. Krazmien was a long-time member of the Armor Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary.
Entombment will be at Lakeside Cemetery.
Gail Budziszewski
Funeral services were held Friday (Aug. 8) from the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Angola for Gail M. Miller Budziszewski, 47, who died Monday, August 4, 2003.
She is survived by her son, Keith G. Budziszewski; brother, Raymond A. (Barbara) Miller Jr.; and sister, Judith (Gerald) Lewandowski.
Burial was at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Cheektowaga and arrangements were made through the Heimburg-Addison Funeral Home.
Marilyn Bauerlein
Funeral services were held Friday (Aug. 8) from St. Mary’s Church in New Oregon for Marilyn Kurtzworth Bauerlein,44, of Springville, who died Monday, August 4, 2003.
She is survived by her sons, Erik, Leo, Lucas and Jared Bauerlein; mother, Bernice Demske Kurtzworth; brothers, Frank (Mary Lou) and Fred Badekor and Leo, Mike (Merry Ann) and Joe (Judy) Kurtzworth; sisters, Martha (Clifford) Stone and Robin Kurtzworth; and nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her father, Leo Kurtzworth.
Ms. Bauerlein was born in Buffalo and resided in New Oregon for most of her life. She graduated from North Collins High School and Fredonia State University and later earned her master’s degree at Fredonia. She taught at Immaculate Conception School in Eden from 1988 to 1989 and later was employed as a teacher at North Collins Elementary School.
