September 18, 1997, of Sloan, NY, beloved wife of the late Leon Sr.; dearest mother of Leon (Joan), Frank Wiertel and Maryanne (Charles) Soponski; survived by six grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; beloved companion of John Ratka; sister of the late Genevieve (late Vincent Januchowski and late Stanley Pawlowski), late Sr. Mary Franceline C.S.S.F. and Helen (late Joseph) Ostempowski. Funeral service commencing at the DANIEL R. SMOLAREK FUNERAL HOME, 2047 Broadway, Cheektowaga-Buffalo City Line, Saturday morning at 9:00 and at St. Andrew's Church at 9:30. Interment St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Mrs. Wiertel was a past member of the Ladies Social Club of Sloan and life member of the Parish Rosary Society and Mothers Club (Friday-6:45 PM). Family present Thursday 7-9 PM and Friday 2-4 and 7-9 PM..

Age 78, of North Tonawanda, NY, September 17, 1997, in DeGraff Memorial Hospital; beloved father of David (Cheri) Tesch and William (Sue) Tesch; brother of Betty (Ray) Bosz and Edie (Russ) Dotzler, and the late Floyd and Norman Tesch; grandfather of eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; beloved friend of Emma Gillis and family. Mr. Tesch was a long time member of the Loyal Order of Moose No. 2163, Legion of the Moose and Pilgrim of the Moose. He was also an honorary member of Live Hose Co. No. 4. No prior visitation. A memorial service will be held Friday at 7 PM from the FRETTHOLD FUNERAL HOME, INC., 1241 Oliver St. at Ward Rd. in North Tonawanda. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Niagara Hospice.
