Arlena Bull
Funeral services were held Saturday (July 28) from the Evergreen Cemetery for Arlena Minekime Bull, 97, of Burbank, California and formerly of Eden, who died Thursday, March 8, 2001.
Wife of the late Albert William Bull, she is survived by her daughters, Alena D. Jetton and Cindy E. Bennett; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Bull was born in Eden and graduated from the University of the State of New York in 1926 with a teaching certificate. She relocated to Los Angeles in 1929 and joined her husband to establish his dental practice.
Agnes Gaylord
A graveside service was held Friday (August 3) from Lakeside Cemetery for Agnes E. Gaylord, 97, of Horseheads, and formerly of Hamburg, who died Monday, July 30, 2001.
Wife of the late Jesse L. Gaylord, she is survived by grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her son, Kenneth Gaylord; daughter, Elaine Blanchard; and brothers and sisters.
Memorials may be made to Bethany Nursing Home, 3005 Watkins Rd., Horseheads, NY 14845.

Michael Atkinson
Private funeral services were held at the convenience of the family for Michael D. Atkinson, 32, of Hamburg, who died Monday, July 30, 2001.
He is survived by his parents, Candida and Rick (Cathy) Atkinson; brothers, Jack and John Atkinson; sister, Alyssa Atkinson; and other relatives.
Mr. Atkinson was employed as a landscape supervisor for BDR Inc. in Orchard Park.
Arrangements were made through the Donald M. Demmerley Funeral Home.
William Pye
Graveside services were held Sunday (August 5) from St. Mary’s Church Cemetery for William P. Pye, 72, of East Eden, who died Thursday, August 2, 2001.
He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Metzger Pye; daughters, Carol (William) Eichorn, Peggy (Nicholas) Gervase, Georgia (Andrew) Tokars and Jeannette Pye-Sovereign; sons, Donald and William D. (Maureen) Pye; brother, Robert J. Pye; sister, Patricia Manchester; and seven grandchildren.
Mr. Pye was a veteran of the Korean War and a member of Hamburg VFW Post No. 1419, the Hamburg American Legion, Highland Rod and Gun Club, Hamburg Moose and Steamfitters Union 395, Local 22.

James Demmerley
Funeral services were held Friday (August 3) from the Full Gospel Tabernacle for James M. Demmerley, 72, of Kissimmee, Florida and formerly of Hamburg, who died Saturday, July 28, 2001.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Barber Demmerley; daughters, Carol O’Brien and Gail Pirincci; sons, Arthur, James and Robert Demmerley; stepsons, Stephen and Kirk Barber; stepdaughter, Alecia Barber; 21 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his stepson, Todd Barber.
Mr. Demmerley was the past owner of a local business in the Hamburg area and later was the owner and operator of the Kissimmee Shuttle Service in Florida.
Burial was at Lakeside Memorial Park and arrangements were made through the Donald M. Demmerley Funeral Home.
William Bley
A memorial service will be held at a later date for William C. “Cabe” Bley, 85, of Tryon, NC and formerly of Hamburg, who died Monday, July 30, 2001.
He is survived by his wife, Grace Fowler Bley; daughter, Constance E. Palsgrove; and two grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his son, W. Steven Bley.
Mr. Bley served in the US Army for four years during World War II. He was awarded the Bronze Star as one of Stephen Ambrose’s Citizen Soldiers. He worked in the accounting department of the Ford Motor Company before retiring in 1981.
He was a member of Masonic Lodge No. 625 and was treasurer of the local American Red Cross Chapter for many years. He was also president of the Gillette Woods Association, built sets for Tryon Little Theater productions, was a member of the Congregational Church, United Church of Christ in Tryon and was a member of the Red Fox Country Club.

Josephine Debicka
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Tuesday (August 7) from Holy Spirit Church for Josephine Debicka, 71, of North Collins, who died Saturday, August 4, 2001.
She is survived by her sisters, Sophie Garcia, Olena “Marie” and Stasia Debicki and Julianna and Helen McCann; and brothers, Valentine and Walter McCann.
She was predeceased by her brother, Stefan Debicki.
Arrangements were made through the Wentland Funeral Home.
