Darleen (nee Williams) Sickeri, age 50, of Sanborn, died Thursday, May 31, 2007 at DeGraff Memorial Hospital, after a brief illness. Born in North Tonawanda, she had been a resident of Sanborn for more than 10 years, and had formerly resided in the Town of Tonawanda with her late husband, Kim B. Sickeri, who died March 24, 1993.
She is survived by her parents, Clark and Agnes George of Sanborn; her son, Shawn Williams of North Tonawanda; and her brother, Frank (Kathy) Williams of North Tonawanda. Also surviving are a step-brother, four step-sisters, and several nieces and nephews.
Services were cared for privately at the convenience of the family. Arrangements entrusted to the care of the Hamp Funeral Home, Inc., Adam and Seymour Streets, Tonawanda.
Sister Richard Barry, SSMN
Teacher, Nurse & Chaplain
Sister Richard Barry, S.S.M.N., died peacefully on Friday, June 1, 2007 at Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital in Amherst. Born Mary Ann Barry on September 12, 1926 in Buffalo, she was the daughter of the late Jeremiah and Ann Mary (nee Conley) Barry. After graduating from Annunciation High School, she entered the order of St. Mary of Namur on October 3, 1943 and took her perpetual vows on August 15, 1952.
Sister Richard had many talents and a strong missionary sense. She taught in several Kenmore schools and spent several years among the poor in Florence, South Carolina. She also made many friends among the Canadian Sisters of St. Mary and taught English in Ottawa in 1978. Sister Richard was known for her exceptional ability to plan, organize and manage several events at the same time. And so, after obtaining her nursing degree in 1981, she joined the staff at Kenmore Mercy Hospital. Following that, she received a National Certificate of Clinical Pastoral Education and became the Pastoral Care Chaplain at several local nursing homes, including a sixteen year ministry at McAuley Residence in Kenmore.
She is survived by her sister, Patricia Crawford; her brother, Richard (Marcia) Barry; nieces, nephews, and many friends; and her sisters in the congregation of St. Mary of Namur.
Friends may call from 7-9 PM Saturday and 2-4 and 7-9 PM Sunday at St. Mary Center, 241 Lafayette Avenue, Buffalo, where a wake service will be held at 8 PM Sunday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 AM Monday at St. Mary Center Chapel. Friends invited. Interment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Town of Tonawanda. Ethel V. Muniak

Ethel (nee Poeller) Muniak, age 77, of Tonawanda, died Thursday, May 31, 2007 at Delaware Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after a long illness. Born in Tonawanda, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Neomi (nee Redlein) Poeller and was a lifelong resident of Tonawanda. Mrs. Muniak was a life member of Salem United Church of Christ, a member of the Tonawanda Senior Citizens, and the American Legion, Tonawandas Post No. 264 Auxiliary. During her younger years, she was an active softball player and had worked as a clerk at National Grinding Wheel and Wurlitzer Company, after World War II. She was the sister of the late Fred, Robert, Calvin, and Eugene Poeller, and Jean Kehoe.
She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Benjamin V. Muniak; two step-children, Linda (Jack) Weisenborn of Williamsville, and Dr. Dennis (Debbie) Muniak of BelAir, Maryland; three granddaughters, Stephanie, Lindsey and Andrea; three sisters, Marguerite Wurtenberger of Tonawanda, Faith (Douglas) Threader of Ohio, and June (Ken) Brown of Ohio; and three brothers, Ken (Louise) Poeller of Tonawanda, Delton Poeller of Tonawanda, and Keith (Beverly) Poeller of Niagara Falls. Also surviving are a special niece, Sandra Fritz of Tonawanda, and many other nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Sunday only at the Hamp Funeral Home, Inc., Adam and Seymour Streets, Tonawanda. A Memorial Service will be held at 11 AM Monday at Salem United Church of Christ, Main and Morgan Streets in Tonawanda; the Rev. David L. Donner officiating. Friends invited. Interment will be cared for privately at White Chapel Memorial Park, Town of Amherst. If desired, memorials to Salem Church, 114 Morgan Street, Tonawanda, NY 14150, are preferred by the family.
Jeffrey N. Rachow

Jeffrey N. Rachow, age 55, of North Tonawanda, died Monday, June 4, 2007, after a brief illness. Born in North Tonawanda, he was the son of the late Norman Rachow and Pearl (nee Madole) Helwig and had been a resident of Rocky Mount, North Carolina, before returning to North Tonawanda. Jeffrey had been a member of the Lakeview Volunteer Fire Company and the Buffalo Carpenters’ Union. He was the brother of the late Loren L. Rachow, and husband of Lydia (nee Trojanovic) Rachow.
He is survived by three sons, Eric, Justin and Aaron Rachow, all of North Carolina; his step-father, Benjamin C. Helwig of North Tonawanda; and his sister-in-law, Marilyn Rachow. Also surviving are a niece and nephew.
Friends may call from 7-9 PM on Thursday only at the Hamp Funeral Home, Inc., Adam and Seymour Streets, Tonawanda. Burial will be cared for at 11 AM Friday at Elmlawn Cemetery, Delaware and Brighton Roads, Town of Tonawanda.
Charlotte Middagh

Charlotte (nee Wegrzynowski) Middagh, formerly of Tonawanda, died Saturday, June 9, 2007 at St. Francis Geriatric Center in Buffalo, after a long illness. Born in Buffalo, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Mary (nee Jarmusz) Wegrzynowski and had been a member of the Tonawanda Senior Citizens and the Salvation Army Golden Agers. She was the wife of the late Earl R. Middagh and sister of the late Irene Tworkowski and Chester Wegrzynowski.
She is survived by a sister, Alice (Jasper) Rivera of Buffalo; and a brother, Raymond (Elizabeth) Wagner of Cheektowaga. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Tuesday at the Hamp Funeral Home, Inc., Adam and Seymour Streets, Tonawanda, where funeral services will be held at 11 AM Wednesday; the Rev. Msgr. James Connelly officiating. Friends invited. Interment will be cared for privately at Acacia Park Cemetery, Town of Pendleton.
Louise M. Roth

Louise (nee DiCicco) Roth, age 82, of North Tonawanda, died Monday, June 11, 2007, at Sheridan Manor Nursing Home after a long illness. Born in East Hartford, Connecticut, she was the daughter of the late Dominic and Serofina (nee Digorgio) DiCicco and had been a resident of the Tonawandas for the greater part of her life. She was the wife of the late Nicholas Gebera and Carl Roth, and mother of the late Nicholas and Michael Gebera.
She is survived by three children, Lawrence Gebera, John (Colleen) Gebera, and Patricia (Gerald) Kick; and a brother, Anthony (Welcome) DiCicco. Also surviving are many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Services were cared for privately at the convenience of the family. Arrangements entrusted to the care of the Hamp Funeral Home, Inc., Adam and Seymour Streets, Tonawanda.
Thelma H. Reuther
Formerly of New Jersey
Thelma (nee Hegnauer) Reuther, age 97, of the Town of Tonawanda, died Friday, January 7, 2005, at DeGraff Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. Born September 9, 1907 in Newark, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Wilhelmina (nee Fischer) Hegnauer and had been a resident of Irvington, New Jersey before moving to the Tonawandas. She was the wife of the late George A. Reuther, who died in 1988, and mother of the late Donald, Alan and Barbara.
She is survived by her grandsons, James L. Reuther, M.D. and his wife, Cecille Reuther, M.D. of Vancouver, Washington, and T. Scott Reuther of Astoria, New York; and her daughter-in-law, Janet Reuther of Tonawanda.
Services were cared for privately at the convenience of the family, followed by interment at Hollywood Cemetery in New Jersey. Arrangements entrusted to the care of the Hamp Funeral Home, Inc., Adam and Seymour Streets, Tonawanda.
