Of the Briarwood Manor, Lockport, NY. formerly of Niagara Falls, NY. died suddenly Friday August 20, 2004 in Lockport Memorial Hospital. She was born in Aberdeenshire, Scotland on March 31, 1916 to Elizabeth (nee Able) and George Maitland. The former Phyllis Maitland was educated in Scotland. In 1945 she married Leonard Sangster and immigrated to Niagara Falls in 1949. He died August 2, 1990.
Mrs. Sangster was a member of the First Presbyterian Church Sunshine Club and a member of the Order of Scottish Clans. Her pastimes included sewing, traveling and spending time with her family. She is survived by a daughter Moira (Fred) Proctor of Niagara Falls, NY. and a sister Helen Milne of Scotland. Mrs. Sangster was predeceased by her husband, her parents, three brothers; the late Crawford, John, and Oliver Maitland. and a sister the late Queenie Braithwaite.
The family will be present to receive friends Sunday 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the SPALLINO-AMIGONE FUNERAL HOME 1300 Pine Ave. Niagara Falls, NY., where Funeral Services will be held Monday morning August 23, 2004 at 11:30 AM., Rev.
