Member of Sweeney Hose Company
Paul "Sponge" Kennedy, age 39, of North Tonawanda, died Saturday, March 6, 2004, at the Erie County Medical Center. A lifelong resident of the Tonawandas, Mr. Kennedy was a 1984 graduate of North Tonawanda Senior High School and a member of Sweeney Hose Company for more than 20 years. He was a member of Ascension R.C. Parish and was an avid Buffalo Bills fan.
He is survived by his parents, Ralph and Carol (nee Harmon) Kennedy; a sister, Maureen (Mike) Jacobs; two brothers, Patrick (Tina) Kennedy and Michael (Jennifer) Kennedy; a nephew, Allen Jacobs; two nieces, Samantha and Madelyn Kennedy; and a God-son, Joshua Large. Also surviving are many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-9 PM Monday at the Hamp Funeral Home, Inc., Adam and Seymour Streets, Tonawanda, where prayers will be said at 9 AM Tuesday, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 AM at Ascension R.C. Church on Robinson Street in North Tonawanda. Friends invited. Interment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. If desired, memorials to the North Tonawanda National Little League, Wheatfield Street & Erie Avenue, North Tonawanda, NY 14120, are preferred by the family.
Melanie Ann Tabor
Melanie Ann Tabor, infant daughter of Kevin and Jennifer (nee Linville) Tabor of North Tonawanda, died unexpectedly, Friday, June 15, 2007 at Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital.
In addition to her parents she is survived by a brother, Brandon Tabor; her grandparents, William S. and Mary Ann Tabor, and Sarah and Al Deguire; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was the granddaughter of the late Roger Linville.
Services were cared for privately, followed by interment at Acacia Park Cemetery, Town of Pendleton. Arrangements were entrusted to the Hamp Funeral Home, Inc. in Tonawanda.
Margaret Green Elek
Lifelong resident of Tonawandas
Margaret (nee Keleman) Green Elek, age 88, of North Tonawanda, died Wednesday, June 20, 2007 at Northgate Manor, after a long illness. Born January 1, 1919, she was the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (nee Gogolack) Keleman and had been a lifelong resident of the Tonawandas. She was the wife of the late Gabor Elek, who died in 1993, and sister of the late John and Edward Keleman, Irene Herman, and Mary Huffman.
She is survived by her three daughters, Karen Fortier, Marcia (Bernie) Schwab and Lynn (Richard) Drzyzga; and three sisters, Velma (Edward) Brenon, Elizabeth Kovacs, and Julia Herman. Also surviving are five grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Services were cared for privately at the convenience of the family, followed by interment at Elmlawn Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to the Hamp Funeral Home, Inc. in Tonawanda.
Norma Jean Mattucci
Graduate of NT High School
Norma Jean (nee Martin) Mattucci, age 44, of North Tonawanda, died Friday, June 22, 2007 at Buffalo General Hospital, after a brief illness. Born in North Tonawanda, she was the daughter of the late Donald L. Martin, Sr. and had been a lifelong resident of North Tonawanda. She was a 1983 graduate of North Tonawanda High School and has worked at the Burger King Restaurant in North Tonawanda for many years.
She is survived by her husband, William V. Mattucci, Jr.; two daughters, Danielle Mattucci and Katie Mattucci; a granddaughter, Emily Wittcop; her mother, Norma E. Martin of North Tonawanda; a sister, Susan N. Martin of Tonawanda; and two brothers, Donald L. Martin, Jr. of North Tonawanda, and Richard (Diane P.) Martin of Buffalo. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Tuesday only at the Hamp Funeral Home, Inc., Adam and Seymour Streets, Tonawanda, where services will be held at 8 PM Tuesday; the Rev. Msgr. James Connelly officiating. Friends invited. Interment will be cared for privately at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Town of Tonawanda. If desired, memorials are preferred by the family.
Joan M. Compeau
Joan (nee Wopperer) Compeau, age 77, of Lockport, formerly of Tonawanda, died Friday, June 29, 2007 at DeGraff Memorial Hospital, after a brief illness. Born in North Tonawanda, she was the daughter of the late William and Eva Wopperer and had been a resident of Tonawanda for the greater part of her life. She was the wife of the late Robert W. Compeau, who died August 9, 1998.
She is survived by her four sons, Robert (Gloria) Compeau of Lockport, Steven Compeau of Tonawanda, Michael (Kim Alfieri) Compeau of Lockport, and David (Kathleen) Compeau of North Tonawanda. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 11 AM – 1 PM on Tuesday only at the Hamp Funeral Home, Inc., Adam and Seymour Streets, Tonawanda. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:30 PM Tuesday at St. Francis Chapel on Adam Street in Tonawanda. Friends invited. Interment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Town of Tonawanda. If desired, memorials to the S.P.C.A. are preferred by the family.
Roger Sattelberg, Jr.
Truck Driver
Roger K. Sattelberg, Jr., age 46, of North Tonawanda, died unexpectedly, Saturday, June 30, 2007. Born in North Tonawanda, he was the son of the late Roger and Agnes (nee Matyevich) Sattelberg and had been a resident of North Tonawanda for the greater part of his life. Mr. Sattelberg was employed as a truck driver for Relco Systems in Lockport.
He is survived by his daughter, Cassondra (Donald Kirschner) McCarthy of the Town of Tonawanda; two sisters, Cheryl Plunkett of Wilson, and Chris (Robert) Zalewski of North Tonawanda; two nephews, Brian Plunkett and Kayne Zalewski; and a niece, Kelsey Zalewski.
Friends may call from 4-8 PM on Thursday only at the Hamp Funeral Home, Inc., Adam and Seymour Streets, Tonawanda, where services will be held at 8 PM Thursday; the Rev. Pat McKenzie officiating. Friends invited. Interment will be cared for privately at White Chapel Memorial Park, Town of Amherst.
Glenn J. Neumann
Retired Pharmacist
Glenn J. Neumann, age 78, of Tonawanda, died Tuesday, July 3, 2007 at the Weinberg Campus. Born in Buffalo, he was the son of the late Fred and Ida (nee Heim) Neumann and had been a lifelong resident of Tonawanda. An Air Force Veteran of the Korean War, Mr. Neumann worked as a pharmacist before retiring.
He is survived by a brother, Fred (Alice) Neumann of Montclare, Pennsylvania; a nephew, Raymond (Patricia) Neumann; and a niece, Andrea (Robert Fenz) Neumann.
There is no visitation. Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass at 10 AM on Tuesday at St. Francis Chapel on Adam Street in Tonawanda. Interment was cared for privately at Bath National Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to the Hamp Funeral Home, Inc. in Tonawanda.
