LANGENBACH, SUSAN ADELE (nee Vasbinder) March 12, 2005 age 66. She is survived by eight loving children, her brother George, sister Joan, seven grandchildren Michael, Madison, Erin, Dylan, Ryan, Shane, and Colin, loving brother and sisters-law and many nieces and nephews. She lived her life by the riches of love and her family. There is truly nothing else. She will be forever loved and sadly missed by her family and friends. Loving grandfather of 13 grandchildren. Brother of Pearl (Rusty) Toellner, James (Joan) Gesel and the late Robert, John, Joseph Gesel, Eleanor Eger, Joan Maier and Dorothy Hannotte. Brother-in -law of Joe Eger, Dorothy Gesel, Ted and Joanne Maier. Also survived by nieces and nephews. The family will be present on Thursday from 2-9pm at the (Amherst Chapel)AMIGONE FUNERAL HOME, INC. , 5200 Sheridan Dr. (Corner of Hopkins Rd.) where funeral services will be held on Friday at 8:45 AM and from St. Gregory the Great Church at 9:30 AM. Betty H. Eldridge

died peacefully on July 27th, 2005 at the home of her daughter Nina Eldridge Born in York PA. She was born in Elma NY on August 6th, 1927. Betty was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Ruth Hoffman. She was predeceased by her husband of 56 yrs. Garry Eldridge in 2002. Betty was the loving mother of John (Christine) Eldridge, Deborah (Gary) Swartz, Nancy (Brian) Park, Nina (Michael) Born, Laurie (Greg) Kiel, and Heather Eldreige. Beloved grandmother of 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She is also survived by 2 brothers, Lawrence A. and William (Alice) Hoffman. A celebration of life service will be held on Friday August 26th at 10:00 AM at the (Cleveland Hill Chapel) Amigone Funeral Home Inc. 569 Cleveland Dr. If desired memorials may be made to Hospice Buffalo Inc.

Jack E. McCumber
Born in Verona, Ontario, Canada on Mar. 28, 1920

Jack McCumber of Grand Island, N.Y., formerly of Niagara Falls, died quietly in his sleep on Saturday August 13, 2005. He was the son of Thomas and Florence (Walker) McCumber. Jack was born on March 28, 1920 in Verona, Ontario. He and his family immigrated to the United States in 1927, initially living in Rochester, then Cheektowaga, and then on Whitney Avenue in Niagara Falls. He lived in the city for 68 years, more than 35 years in his home on 29th Street. He attended Gaskill Junior High School and Niagara Falls High School. He moved to Grand Island in 2000.
In 1940, Jack enlisted in the Army National Guard (174th Infantry Rifle, L Company) and trained at Fort Dix, N.J. where the unit was federalized. He served until early 1941. After the attack on Pearl Harbor (December 1941), Jack joined the Navy where he served until December 1945. During the war, he was stationed in Rhode Island, Virginia, Florida, and California, serving in Navy hospitals. He was in California, part of a task force preparing for the land invasion of Japan, when the war ended. He was then assigned to Sasebo, Japan as part of the initial occupation force. He returned to the U.S. on Christmas day, 1945.
Jack married Anna Reddick of Niagara Falls, on April 24, 1942.
Jack was an active father and grandfather. He was employed by the Hooker Chemical Company for 32 years, retiring from his pipefitter position in 1982. Jack also enjoyed gardening, camping and deer hunting.
Jack is survived by his wife of 63 years, Anna McCumber, three children, Michael (Lynda) McCumber of Chelmsford, MA; Kevin (Chery) McCumber of Elk Grove, CA; and Laura McCumber of Grand Island; seven grandchildren, James, Kenneth, and Kathryn McCumber of Chelmsford; Joshua, Alexander, and Jolie McCumber of Elk Grove; and Andrew McCumber of Grand Island. He is predeceased by his brother, Earl McCumber of Niagara Falls; his sister, Thelma Ford of Brandenburg, Kentucky; and one grandson, Thomas McCumber of Chelmsford.
Family will be present to receive friends at the SPALLINO-AMIGONE FUNERAL HOME 1300 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls Tuesday evening 6-8 PM. A memorial and graveside military service will be held Wednesday morning at 10 AM at Riverdale Cemetery Lewiston, NY. Friends invited
