Carol M. Borner
Carol M. Borner, of Lockport, NY, entered into rest Sunday, June 28, 2009 in Eastern Niagara Hospital, Lockport.
Born July 26, 1932 in Lockport, she was the daughter of the late Leo and Virginia Floyd Borner.
Carol was a member of the Eagles #825, Navy-Marine Club, American Legion B. Leo Dolan Post 410 and the VFW 2535. Carol also enjoyed playing Bingo.
Mother of Robert (Marcia) Robinson of Lockport; grandmother of Diane Robinson of Lockport; sister of Leo (Noreen) Borner of Pendleton, Rose Marie (Donald) Carolus of Lockport and the late George (Delores) Borner and Albert J. Borner, Sr.; also survived by several nieces and nephwes.
Relatives and friends may call on Wednesday from 4-8PM at Gaul Funeral Home, 263 East Ave., where funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10AM. Interment in Acacia Park Cemetery. Helen Kasprzak (nee Brzana)- June 29, 2009, wife of the late Raymond; dear mother of Ronald (Julie), Marcia (Theodore) Frasier, Judy (Ronald) Rusinski, James (Nancy) and Robert (Mary) Kasprzak; grandmother of Kevin, Jennifer, Dawn, Mark, Renee, Steven, Brian, Ashley, Megan, Anna; great-grandmother of Lauren, Kristen, Alexandria, Anthony, Joshua, Brandon, Andrew and Jenna; sister of Frank (late Leona), Florence (late Richard) Blaszak and the late Most Rev. Natalina Fracassi
Natalina (Martini) Fracassi, 100, of Niagara Falls, NY died on Friday June 26, 2009 at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. Born in Aprigliano, Cosenza, Calabria, Italy she was the daughter of the late Luigi and Maria (Vigna) Martini.
Natalina was educated in Italy. In 1951 she immigrated to Canada and later came to Niagara Falls, NY where she currently resided. She was a longtime devout member of St. Joseph Church as well as their Madonna Del Perpetuo Soccorso Society. In her leisure time, Natalina enjoyed crocheting, knitting and gardening.
Mrs. Fracassi was predeceased by her husband John J. Fracassi on November 15, 1980. She is survived by one son, Anthony J. Fracassi of Niagara Falls, NY and was predeceased by one daughter Rose (late John) Chiochio. She is also survived by four grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, two sisters Angelina (late Sam) Covelli and Rose (late Albert) Perri both of Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada, one brother Pasquale (late Angelina) Martini of Toronto, Ontario, Canada and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins. She was also predeceased by three brothers Ralph Martino, Salvatore (Giovene of Niagara Falls, NY) Martini and Frank (late Mary) Martini.

Jane Antonucci
Jane (Pilato) Antonucci, 87, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on Sunday June 28, 2009 at her residence with her family at her side, while under the care of Niagara Hospice. Born in Rochester, NY she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Connie (Infantino) Pilato.
Jane was educated in Rochester, NY and moved to Niagara Falls, NY in her younger years. On September 9, 1944 she married Albert “Funt” Antonucci at St. Joseph’s Church in Niagara Falls. Mr. Antonucci predeceased her on May 19, 1971. During World War II she was employed as a riveter at Bell Aerospace in Wheatfield, NY. She later worked in the Produce Department of the former Slipko’s Market in Niagara Falls, NY for twenty three years, and in 2009 Jane retired as a longtime foster grandmother at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center after twenty four years of service. She was an avid reader and enjoyed tending to her flower garden and cooking for her family and friends but most of all, Jane loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be remembered as a caring generous person who had a warm smile.
Mrs. Antonucci is survived by two children Barbara Forgione and Albert T. (Sharon) Antonucci both of Niagara Falls, NY; eight grandchildren Terri Forgione, Denise (Matt) Seelbach, Donna Antonucci, Albert J. Antonucci, Rick Forgione, Karen Antonucci, Anthony Antonucci and Derrick (Melissa) Deyo, six great grandchildren, two brothers Angelo (Lois) Pilato of Youngstown, NY and Guy (Grace) Pilato of State College, PA; several nieces, nephews and cousins and her special friend Heather Wielgus. She was predeceased by one sister Mildred (late Clyde) Tomassini and one brother Peter Pilato.

Gregorio 'Greg' Alvarez
U.S. Veteran Gregorio ‘Greg’ Alvarez, 73, of Niagara Falls, NY died on Sunday, June 21, 2009 peacefully in his sleep at home after a two year illness. Born in Utado, Puerto Rico, he was the son the late Stephen and Innocentia (Rivera) Alvarez. He married Diane E. (Barrett) (Scarcelli) Alvarez on February 14, 1985 in Niagara Falls, NY.
In 1955, Greg came to the United States while serving in the United States Army, and shortly afterwards settled in Niagara Falls, NY. He was honorable discharged in 1957. Greg was employed by the city of Niagara Falls, NY in the Maintenance Department from 1958 until 1979, and from 1975 until 2001 he owned and operated the New San Juan Tavern located at Main St. and Ontario Ave. in Niagara Falls, NY. Greg enjoyed going to O.T.B. where he met the love of his life, Diane and also liked going to the Casino.
In addition to his beloved wife Diane of twenty four years, Mr. Alvarez is survived by three children Dr. Gregory (Lori) Alvarez of Atlanta, GA; Steven (Lori) Ward of Richmond, VA and Michael (Krystal) Scarcelli of Niagara Falls, NY; nine grandchildren; Grant, Alex, Melody, Melissa, Bryn, Steven II, Joshua, Chelsea and Brandon, two great grandchildren Morgan and Aiden, his siblings Alcadia Alvarez, Lulu Alvarez, Margo Alvarez, Antonio Alvarez and Elba Alvarez all of San Juan, PR, several nieces, nephews and cousins and his beloved pet dog Peepa.
