Jean (Modica) Clingersmith 79, of Niagara Falls, NY died peacefully in her sleep Saturday June 20, 2009 at her residence. Born in Buffalo, NY she was the daughter of the late Vitale “Charles” and Rosaria (Giallombardo) Modica.
Jean grew up on the West Side of Buffalo and attended Buffalo schools. On June 12, 1954, she married William Clingersmith at Holy Angels Church in Buffalo, NY and together they moved to Niagara Falls, NY. Jean began working at the former J.N. Adam Co. in Buffalo, NY and later as a crossing guard for the City of Niagara Falls. Jean was involved with her children’s schools and volunteered at Niagara Catholic. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Church, St. Joseph’s Mothers Club and Pine Avenue Block Club. During her spare time she enjoyed playing cards but her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends.
In addition to her husband of 55 years, Mrs. Clingersmith is survived by her seven children David Clingersmith of Niagara Falls, NY; Ann Louise (Louis) Ciminelli of Buffalo, NY, Mark (Marianne) Clingersmith, William (Anne) Clingersmith, both of Niagara Falls, NY, James (Lisa) Clingersmith of San Diego, CA, Christine (Jeffrey) Vahue of Boston, MA and Julie (Michael) Dearing of Pendleton, NY; eighteen grand children, Ryanne, Caitlyn, Lauryn, Lyndsey, Molly, Matthew, Melissa, Ashley, William, Sarah, Kristen, Kenna, Kara, Daniel, Eric Clingersmith, Serena, Peter, Anthony Vahue; one great-grandson Gavin and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her three sisters, Rose (late Ed) Donnelly; Ada (Dominic of Buffalo, NY) D’Ettorre; Nina (late Tony) Saccia; two brothers Joseph (Frances of Kenmore, NY) Modica and Salvatore Modica. She was also predeceased by a brother-in-law Leonard (Isabel of Niagara Falls, NY) Clingersmith.

Angelo Perno
U.S. Veteran Loving Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather
Angelo N. Perno, 91, of the Town of Niagara, NY died on Wednesday June 17, 2009 at Mt. St. Mary’s Hospital in Lewiston, NY. Angelo was born in Niagara Falls, NY and was the son of the late Dominic and Maria (Critelli) Muraco-Perno.
Angelo was raised of humble surroundings on a farm where he learned hard work. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy on an aircraft carrier during World War II after the attack on Pearl Harbor from April 16, 1943 until his honorable discharge on April 20, 1946. He was awarded an American Theater Medal, a Good Conduct Medal and a Victory Medal. On September 14, 1946 he married Jennie D. (Finitz) Perno at Our Lady of the Rosary Church in Niagara Falls, NY. Angelo was employed at the former Hooker Chemical Corporation in Niagara Falls, NY as a machinist, and retired in 1979 after 33 years of service. He was a longtime active member of St. Leo’s Church in the Town of Niagara as well as serving as an usher and Catholic Charities volunteer. He liked gardening and was an avid sports fan but most of all; Angelo enjoyed spending time with his family. He truly lived by the statement “Love Thy Neighbor as Thyself.” He would know the neighbors well and showed concern for them.
In addition to his wife of sixty two years, Mr. Perno is survived by his daughter Beverly Jean Perno-Conte (David C.) Millis of Orlando, FL; a son Robert Dominic (Deborah) Perno of Niagara Falls, NY and another daughter Cynthia Marie Perno (Craig R.) Moeller of Melbourne, FL. He is also survived by his grandchildren Kris (Christina) Conte, Joel (Andrea) Conte, Jared (Janeth) Conte, SSgt. Justin (Betony) Conte,USAF, Aaron Conte, Gina (Paul) Urban, Robert A. Perno, Anthony Dominic Perno (fiancé’ Adrienne Rivers), Alyssa L. Moeller, Marlayna Moeller, Alicia Moeller and Craig Moeller, his great grandchildren Alexander Angelo Conte, Ryan E. Conte, William L. Conte, Joshua D. Conte, Blake Dominic Conte, Juliana B. Conte, Talia, Parker,Katie,Cara and Paulie Urban one brother Frank (Betty) Perno of Niagara Falls, NY; two sisters Elizabeth (late Marino) Galante of Niagara Falls, NY and Josephine (late Leo) Bongiovanni of Palmdale, CA and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by two brothers Thomas (late Bonnie) Muraco and Luigi “Louie” (Jennie of Niagara Falls, NY) Muraco and three sisters Mary Paonessa, Bessie (late Alfred) DiGregorio and Frances (late Angelo) Chiccone.

Robert Hughson officiating. Interment with Military Honors will be held in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.
Rose M. Scibetta
Rose M. (Ullo) Scibetta, 95, formerly of Niagara Falls, NY entered into rest on Tuesday June 16, 2009 at Northgate Manor Nursing Home in North Tonawanda, NY. Born in Chicago, IL she was the daughter of the late Guiseppe and Vincensia (Colca) Ullo.
Rose came to Niagara Falls as a child with her family and attended local schools. She married Dominick Scibetta at St. Joseph’s Church in Niagara Falls, NY. Mr. Scibetta predeceased her on April 9, 1970. Rose’s love for her family was first and foremost; she dedicated her life to their care, support and nurturing; her legacy will live on through them. Rose spent many happy years cooking, laughing, singing, crocheting and sharing stories with her many family, friends and neighborhood children.
Mrs. Scibetta is survived by four children Paul (Doris Fisher) Scibetta of Missouri, Josephine (late Frank) Bongiovanni of Bergholz, NY; Vincenette (Antonio “Leo”) Marcantonio and Joseph Scibetta both of Grand Island, NY, close friend of the family Dominic Marini, eleven grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, fourteen plus great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by one sister, Katherine ‘Katie’ Gullo (late Charles) Chiparo and four brothers, Peter (late Frances R. Insana) Ullo, John (late Frances M. Barone) Gullo, Joseph (late Mary) Gullo and Raymond (late Olean Palillo) Gullo.
