BRIAN ROBERT BART - Born April 25, 1972, passed away peacefully at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center on June 5, 2009 following a motorcycle accident on May 15, 2009 in San Jose, California. Brian, a 1996 MS Graduate of the State University of New York at Buffalo, was an Electrical Engineer for National Semiconductor in Sunnyvale, CA. In addition to being a well respected member of his community Brian was greatly admired by his colleagues and loved by the friends he made playing goalie on his hockey team, The Red Army. In his honor, the team wore his number 26 on their jersey’s. Brian loved to relax by working in his garden and cooking his family and friends gourmet dishes. He was devoted to his wife Elizabeth Renee (Cutforth-Ford) and his beloved children Henry Oakes, the late Anders Josef, his newborn son Alexander James and his stepson Andrew Paul Cutforth. He is the cherished son of Robert James and Barbara Louise (Benbynek) and a loving brother to Kelly Ann (William) Lubey and loved to spoil his nieces Heather, Katelyn, Melissa Renee, Megan Elizabeth and his nephew Benjamin William. Brian is the dear son-in-law of Darryl and Carolyn (Ford) Compton of San Mateo, CA and a brother-in-law to Kim Kitz of California, Benjamin and Barb Ford of Portland, ME and Nathan and Donna Ford of Denver, CO. In addition to his loving family, he will be greatly missed by his canine buddies Frej and Freja. Friends and relatives are invited to attend a Memorial Service that will be held at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church, 10 French Rd., Depew, NY Tuesday, June 30 at 10:00 AM. McCOY - James V., Jr. June 12, 2009, beloved husband of Candie (nee Ross); dear father of Dale (Shari), James M., Yvonne (Mark Amato), Deborah Brennan and Candie (Thomas) Snyder; loving grandfather of Jessica, Nicole and Rebecca McCoy, Starlet (Nick) Croce, Bobby Clough Jr., Heather Ann McCoy, Ricky and Amber Staufenberger, Alexis McCoy, Hunter Snyder and Christopher Brennan; great-grandfather of Austin Robert Croce; son of the late Dorothy and James Sr.; brother of William and the late Dennis, Lawrence and Gary McCoy; also survived by nieces and nephews. Funeral from St. Paul's Episcopal Church 4275 Harris Hill Rd., Williamsville, near Main St., Wednesday at 11:00am, interment in Lancaster Rural Cemetery, no prior visitation. Jim was an Army veteran and a member of Teamsters Local #558.
George O. Brumfield
Member of National Hose Company
George O. Brumfield, age 71, of Tonawanda, died Friday, March 22, 2002, at Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital after a long illness. Born in Eden, NY, he was the son of the late Norman and Janet (nee Love) Brumfield and was a lifelong resident of Tonawanda. A Navy Veteran of the Korean War, he was the first truck driver hired at the Stroehmann Bakery. He then worked as a salesman at Cornwall Tools before retiring. He was a very active member at the Buffalo First Church of the Nazarene for more than 40 years. He was a 50 year member of the National Hose Company, where he was a former chaplain, and a member of the Fireman's Benevolent Association in Tonawanda. He had been in charge of the fire police in Tonawanda. Mr. Brumfield was an avid fisherman who greatly enjoyed spending time at the Niagara River and the Erie Canal.
He is survived by his wife, Leoria (nee Hartman) Brumfield; a daughter, Georgia (Paul) Vattimo of Bliss, NY; a son, Paul (Sharon) Brumfield of Tonawanda, NY; a brother, Norman Brumfield; and a sister, Janet Brumfield. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was especially proud of his granddaughter, ShoeBoo, who is studying to be a missionary and youth minister at Eastern Nazarene College in Quincy, Massachusetts.
There will be no visitation. The family will receive friends after 2 PM on Sunday at the Buffalo First Church of the Nazarene, 1270 Kenmore Avenue, near Delaware, where a memorial service will be conducted at 4 PM; the Rev. Thomas Maitland officiating. Friends invited. Burial will be cared for privately at Bath National Cemetery. If desired, memorials to the church are preferred by the family. Arrangements by the Hamp Funeral Home, Inc., Adam and Seymour Streets, Tonawanda.
Joseph G. Riggie

Joseph G. Riggie, age 83, of Tonawanda, died Sunday, March 24, 2002, at his home after a long illness. Born in Buffalo, he was the son of the late Joseph A. and Clara (nee Hartman) Riggie and was a lifelong resident of Tonawanda. He had been employed as a production scheduler at Columbus McKinnon for 42 years, until retiring in 1982. Mr. Riggie was a member of the Philatelic Society. He was an avid baseball fan, especially of the St. Louis Cardinals. He loved reading and woodworking. He married Gloria Thompson on July 7, 1949. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with family and friends on July 7, 1999, at Salvatore's Italian Gardens.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Gloria (nee Thompson) Riggie; five children, Joseph (Dawn) Riggie, Rosemary Riggie, SSMN, Jonathan (Teri) Riggie, Timothy (Sheryl) Riggie, and Michael Riggie; and eight grandchildren, Joseph, Elizabeth, Sarah, Jennifer, Margaret, Timothy, Allison, and Jonathan. Also surviving are two step-grandchildren, Alexandra and Max; a great-granddaughter, Ruth; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 7-9 PM Monday and 2-4 & 7-9 PM Tuesday at the Hamp Funeral Home, Inc., Adam and Seymour Streets, Tonawanda. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM Wednesday at St. Francis Chapel on Adam Street. Friends invited. If desired, memorials to Hospice Buffalo or St. Francis Library Fund are preferred by the family.
Helen P. Batt
Lifelong resident of the Tonawandas
Helen (nee Perry) Batt, age 86, of North Tonawanda, died Thursday, March 28, 2002 at Crestwood Health Care Facility. Born in Pembroke, she was the daughter of the late William and Cora (nee Franz) Perry and was a lifelong resident of the Tonawandas. She was a past member of the Sets 'n Singles Group, and enjoyed traveling and playing bridge. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles. She was the wife of the late Kenneth R. Batt, who died in 1975.
She is survived by a son, Kenneth (Terry) Batt of West Palm Beach, FL; two daughters, Barbara (Robert) Kijowski of Las Vegas, NV, and Beverly Mills of Clarence Center, NY; and seven grandchildren. Also surviving are four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 2-4 & 7-8:30 PM Monday at the Hamp Funeral Home, Inc., Adam and Seymour Streets, Tonawanda, where funeral services will be held at 8:30 PM Monday. Friends invited. Interment will be cared for privately at White Chapel Cemetery in the Town of Amherst. Margaret C. Foss
Lifelong resident of the Tonawandas
Margaret (nee Schinaman) Foss, age 80, of Tonawanda, died Sunday, March 31, 2002, at the Newfane Rehabilitation and Health Care Center after a long illness. Born on January 6, 1922 in Tonawanda, she was the daughter of the late Jacob and Anna (nee Gurvin) Schinaman and was a lifelong resident of the Tonawandas. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Tonawanda.
She is survived by two daughters, Linda Sukiennik and Cynthia Schmidt; and two sons, Donald R. Foss and Douglas E. Foss. Also surviving are five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 6-8 PM on Wednesday at the Hamp Funeral Home, Inc., Adam and Seymour Streets, Tonawanda, where a prayer service will be held at 8 PM Wednesday. Friends invited. Interment will be cared for privately at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Town of Tonawanda.
Winifred M. Sattelberg
Active member of St. Martin Lutheran Church
Winifred (nee Mavis) Sattelberg, age 85, of the Town of Wheatfield, died Tuesday, April 2, 2002, at Northgate Manor Health Care Facility after a brief illness. Born January 5, 1917, in Wheatfield, she was the daughter of the late Martin and Magdalene (nee Hidde) Mavis and was a lifelong resident of the Town of Wheatfield. Mrs. Sattelberg was a member of St. Martin Lutheran Church, where she had been active in the Church Choir, Children's Choir, the Women's Guild, Memorial Committee, and Prayer Chain.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Albert M. Sattelberg, to whom she was married for more than 66 years. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, dear friends, and neighbors.
