Sergeant First Class Peter P. Tycz, II, age 32, of Raeford, NC, formerly of Tonawanda, died Wednesday, June 12, 2002 while serving our country in Afghanistan. Born in Cheektowaga, NY, he was a 1988 graduate of Tonawanda High School. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1988 as a Fire Support Specialist, where he served on active duty until 1990, at which time he joined the Reserves. He returned to active duty in 1993, and completed the Special Forces Qualification Course in 1997; he was assigned to Charlie Company, 2nd Battalion, 3rd Special Forces Group based in Fort Bragg, NC. He served on missions in Bosnia, the Persian Gulf War, Panama, and Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan. His awards include the Army Commendation Medal, Joint Service Achievement Award, NATO Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Combat Medical Badge, Parachutist Badge, Special Forces Tab, and many others.
He is survived by his wife, Tami (nee Parmentier) Tycz; five daughters, Felicia, Faith, Tiffany, Samantha, and Elizabeth; his parents, Terry (Kevin) Harnden and Peter (Paula) Tycz; a sister, Tracey Tycz; a step-brother, Kevin Harnden; and two step-sisters, Jennifer Rusnak and Anne Pedrick.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 PM SUNDAY ONLY at the Hamp Funeral Home, Inc., Adam and Seymour Streets, Tonawanda. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 AM Monday at St. Francis of Assisi Church on Broad Street at Clinton Park. Friends invited. Interment at Elmlawn Cemetery, Town of Tonawanda. Grace I. Lombardo
Lifelong resident of Tonawanda
Grace I. Lombardo, age 45, of Tonawanda, died Monday, July 1, 2002 at Roswell Park Cancer Institute after a long illness. Born in North Tonawanda, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Marion (nee Hoyt) Lombardo, and was a lifelong resident of Tonawanda. A member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish, she had been active in the Big Brothers, Big Sisters Organization. Ms. Lombardo had been employed as a medical secretary at Roswell for 25 years.
She is survived by three sisters, Karen (Alan) Berke, Elizabeth (Robert) Mohr, and Susan G. Lombardo; an aunt, Jean G. Krystaf; two nieces, Lisa Fishelson and Rebecca Moisides; and a nephew, Mark Berke. Also surviving are many dear friends.
Friends may call from 7-9 PM Wednesday and 1-5 PM Thursday at the Hamp Funeral Home, Inc, Adam & Seymour Streets, Tonawanda. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 AM Friday at St. Francis Chapel on Adam Street in Tonawanda. Friends invited. If desired, memorials to Roswell Park Cancer Institute are preferred by the family.
Antoinette Sinicropi
Member of St. Francis Parish
Antoinette (nee Vona) Sinicropi, age 91, died Saturday, July 6, 2002, at Northgate Health Care Facility after a long illness. Born in Rochester, NY, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Stella (nee Grasso) Vona and had been a resident of the Tonawandas since 1953. Mrs. Sinicropi was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish, and was the wife of the late John Fusco and the late Vincent Sinicropi.
She is survived by her son, Salvatore "Sam" (Diana) Fusco of Tonawanda; and three grandchildren, Linda (John) Warthling, John (Wendy) Fusco, and Nancy (James) Brady. Also surviving are 7 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Services were cared for privately at the convenience of the family, followed by interment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. If desired, memorials to Northgate Health Care Facility or a charity of your choice are preferred by the family. Arrangements by the Hamp Funeral Home, Inc., Adam and Seymour Streets, Tonawanda.
Arlene Wilson
Lifelong Resident of Tonawandas
Arlene J. Wilson, age 61, of North Tonawanda, died Sunday, July 7, 2002, at Millard Fillmore Hospital in Buffalo, after a brief illness. Born in Buffalo, she was the daughter of the late Arthur V. Fuller and Betty J. Lewis and was a lifelong resident of the Tonawandas.
She is survived by two daughters, Lynda J. Wilson and Bonnie S. Wilson; a son, Kneland O. Wilson; and two brothers, Clayton (Jennifer) Stickles and Edward (Marilyn) Stickles. Also surviving are 7 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 10-11 AM Wednesday at the Hamp Funeral Home, Inc., Adam and Seymour Streets, Tonawanda, where funeral services will be held at 11 AM; Msgr. James Connelly officiating. Friends invited.
Gloria Gene Roberts
Gloria Gene (nee Glessner) Roberts, age 78, of Tonawanda, died at her home, Tuesday, July 9, 2002, after a brief illness. Born in Harrisburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late Courtney and Dorothy (nee Dickert) Glessner and had been a resident of Tonawanda for more than fifty five years. She was the wife of the late Ralph R. Roberts, who died in 1986.
She is survived by three daughters, Sally A. Roberts, Roni (Dennis) Pietrowski and Lori E. Roberts. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Dennis and Julie Pietrowski and several nieces and nephews.

Alicia Swanick

Alicia J. (nee Williams) Swanick, age 52, of Tonawanda, died unexpectedly, Wednesday, July 17, 2002 at her residence. Born in Buffalo, she was the daughter of Frederick Williams and the late Jane (nee Diebold) Williams and had been a resident of Tonawanda for more than 25 years.
She is also survived by her husband, Carl J. Swanick; a sister, Kathy (Randy) Ruminski; and two brothers, Jeffrey (Edie) Williams and Douglas (Barbara) Williams. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 10 AM - 12 Noon on Saturday only at the Hamp Funeral Home, Inc., Adam and Seymour Streets, Tonawanda, where a prayer service will be held at Noon Saturday. Friends invited. Interment at Elmlawn Cemetery, Town of Tonawanda.
Sandra G. Fahning
Sandra (nee Harlach) Fahning, age 62, of Tonawanda, died unexpectedly, Friday, July 26, 2002, at her residence. Born in Buffalo, she was the daughter of Rose (nee Struebel) and the late Clarence G. Harlach and was a resident of Tonawanda since 1985.
She is also survived by her husband, William O. Fahning; three daughters, Wendy (Wiley Sweet) Fahning, Cathleen R. Fahning, and Elizabeth M. Fahning; two sons, Donald (Denise) Grabowski, Sr. and William F. (Julia Sczepczenski) Grabowski; and two brothers, Michael (Bernice) Harlach and Butch (Janet) Harlach. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Arrangements were cared for privately at the convenience of the family. A memorial service will be held at a later time to be announced.
