Elizabeth (nee Bradley) Haines, age 76, of Tonawanda, died Friday, September 13, 2002, at DeGraff Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Dunkirk, she was the daughter of the late Emery and Margaret (nee Delanty) Bradley and had been a resident of Tonawanda for the greater part of her life. Mrs. Haines was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish, and had been employed as a sales clerk at Jenss Twin-Ton and Kahn's New York Store, and then was a receptionist at the Hamp Funeral Home for the past 12 years. She was the wife of the late James L. Haines, who died in 1997.
She is survived by a son, Thomas J. Haines; two grandchildren, Katie and David Haines; and a brother, Robert (Gretchen) Bradley. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews and many friends.
Friends may call from 1-5 PM Sunday at the Hamp Funeral Home, Inc., Adam and Seymour Streets, Tonawanda, where funeral services will be held at 1 PM Monday; Rev. Albert Hansen officiating. Friends invited. Interment at Elmlawn Cemetery. If desired, memorials to St. Francis School are preferred by the family.
Robert E. Bradley
Air Force Veteran
Robert E. Bradley, age 74, of Sheldon, NY, died Tuesday, September 17, 2002, at the VA Medical Center in Buffalo, after a long illness. Born in Dunkirk, NY, he was the son of the late Emery and Margaret (nee Delanty) Bradley. He served in the Air Force from 1949 until 1970, and was a veteran of both the Korean and Vietnam Wars. Mr. Bradley then worked at Moog, Inc. in East Aurora before retiring in 1991. He was the father of the late Deborah Bradley, and brother of the late Betty (Jim) Haines.
He is survived by his wife, Gretchen (nee Dietrich) Bradley; six children, Cheryl Bradley, Robert Bradley, Jr., Jacqueline DelValle, Kathleen (James) Kublas, Melissa (Mark) Scarinno, and Thea (John) Herrmann; 21 grandchildren; and a nephew, Thomas Haines.
There will be no visitation. Friends are invited to attend a graveside committal service at Noon on Saturday, September 21, at Strykersville Cemetery. If desired, memorials to the Strykersville Fire Department are preferred by the family. Arrangements by the Hamp Funeal Home, Inc., Tonawanda, NY.
If you will be attending the graveside service, take the 400 Expressway East to Route 20A (SR-78). Turn Left (East) onto 20A (SR-78). Turn right (South) onto SR-78 (Strykersville Road). Turn Left (East) onto SR-78 (Main Street). Turn left (North-East) onto CR-35 (Dutch Hollow Road). Turn right onto Sanders Hill Road. The cemetery is about 1.5 miles down on your right side.
Eleanor A. Pawlowski
Resident of Tonawanda for 50 years
Eleanor (nee Lukaszek) Pawlowski, age 78, of Tonawanda, died Saturday, September 21, 2002, at St. John's Home in Rochester. Born in Buffalo, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Rose (nee Brzyski) Lukaszek and had been a resident of Tonawanda until 2001. Mrs. Pawlowski was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish and the Tonawanda Homemakers Club. She was the beloved wife of the late Leonard B. Pawlowski, who died in 1994, and sister of the late Gertrude Welka, Emilia Pawlowski, and George Neureuther.
She is the dear mother of Roger (Patricia) Pawlowski; dear grandmother of Roger P. Pawlowski, David (Mridul) Pawlowski, and Gregory S. Pawlowski; and dear sister of Edward (Reggie) Lukaszek, Lorraine (Carl) Gozdziak, Florence Spring, Robert Neureuther, Leonard (Donna) Neureuther, Nina (Frank) Biondo, and Caroline (Russell) Greco. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.

Anna M. Goodlander
Worked at Paul's Teachers Pet
Anna M. Goodlander (nee Rogers), age 71, of the Town of Tonawanda, died Monday, September 30, 2002, at Williamsville Suburban Nursing Home, after a brief illness, following a three year battle with cancer. Born July 21, 1931, in Tonawanda, she was the daughter of the late Emerson and Anna (nee Lisle) Rogers, and had been a resident of the Town of Tonawanda for more than 40 years. She had been employed at Paul's Teachers Pet in Clarence before retiring. She was the wife of the late Elmer E. Goodlander, who died in 1982.
She is survived by two children, Eric (Christine Bailor) Goodlander and Ellen (Bryan) Goodlander-Karant; three grandchildren, Alexa, Andrew and Matthew; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends after 10 AM Thursday, October 3, at Hamp Funeral Home, Inc., Adam & Seymour Streets, Tonawanda, where a memorial service will be held at 11 AM. Friends invited. Interment will be cared for privately at Elmlawn Cemetery, Town of Tonawanda. If desired, memorials to Hospice Buffalo are preferred by the family.
Deborah E. Depew
Alcohol Addiction Counselor
Deborah E. Depew, age 51, of Pendleton, died Sunday, September 29, 2002, at Northgate Health Care Facility after a long illness. Born in Buffalo, she had been a resident of Pendleton for more than 25 years. Deborah was employed as an addiction counselor at the Stutzman Alcoholic Rehabilitation Center in Buffalo. She was a member of the Jewish Community Center in Getzville, the NYS Alcoholism Abuse Services, the Arabian Hosrse Association of New York, and the Certified Occupational Therapy Association.
She is survived by her mother, Frances (nee Castle) Depew; two brothers, Robert (Avice) Depew and Dennis Ertel; an aunt, Estelle Castle; an uncle, John Castle; and two dear friends, Michael Dean and Brad Evert. Also surviving are several other aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Rev. Msgr. Julius J. Szabo
Pastor Emeritus at Ascension Parish
Rev. Msgr Julius J. Szabo, age 92, of the Town of Tonawanda, died Sunday, October 13, 2002, after a brief illness. Born on May 20, 1910 in Buffalo, he was the son of the late Andrew and Anna (nee Orosz) Szabo. He was ordained on June 7, 1936 at Christ the King Seminary at St. Bonaventure University, and had served at St. Joseph Parish in Lockport, St. Elizabeth Parish in Buffalo and Assumption Parish in Lackawanna. He then served as pastor at Ascension Parish in North Tonawanda before retiring.
He is survived by his brother, Alexander T. Szabo; a niece, Barbara Anne Szabo; and several great nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 4-8 PM Tuesday at the Hamp Funeral Home, Inc., Adam and Seymour Streets, Tonawanda, and from 1-8 PM Wednesday at St. Elizabeth R.C. Church, 986 Grant Street, Buffalo. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM Thursday at St. Elizabeth R.C. Church. The Most Reverend Bishop Henry J. Mansell, Bishop of Buffalo, will be the principal celebrant. Loren Rachow
Member of St. Francis of Assisi
Loren L. Rachow, age 53, of North Tonawanda, died unexpectedly, Tuesday, October 15, 2002, at DeGraff Memorial Hospital. Born in Tonawanda, he was the son of the late Norman L. Rachow and Pearl (nee Madole) Rachow Helwig and was a lifelong resident of the Tonawandas. A member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish, he had been an avid bowler before becoming ill.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn (nee Rohr) Rachow; a son, Michael N. Rachow; a daughter, Michelle L. Rachow; a granddaughter, Ann Marie Rachow; a brother, Jeffrey (Lydia) Rachow; and his step-father, Benjamin Helwig. Also surviving are several nephews.
