Catherine (nee Heilberger) Redner, age 84, of Tonawanda, died Monday, July 07, 2003, at Newfane Inter-Community Memorial Hospital after a long illness. Born in Tonawanda, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Catherine (nee Kaiser) Heilberger and had been a lifelong resident of the Tonawandas. She was a member of St. Francis Parish in Tonawanda, and was the wife of the late John D. Redner, who died in 1969.
She is survived by four sons, John (Leslie) Redner, Mark (Margaret) Redner, Daniel Redner and Paul Redner; three grandchildren, Kevin (Rose), Lisa and Allison Redner. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews and her dearest friend, Bernice Everett.
Friends may call from 4-8 PM Thursday only at the Hamp Funeral Home, Inc., Adam and Seymour Streets, Tonawanda. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2 PM Friday at St. Francis Chapel on Adam Street in Tonawanda. Friends invited. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. If desired, memorials to the Hospice Buffalo Foundation are preferred by the family.
Theodore J. Strugala

Theodore J. Strugala, age 78, of North Tonawanda, died unexpectedly, Saturday, July 12, 2003, at his residence.
Born January 26, 1925, in Dickson City, PA, he was the son of the late John and Sophie (nee Valichowska) Strugala and had been a resident of the Tonawandas and a member of St Francis Parish for the greater part of his life. He was a Marine Corps veteran of WW II, serving in the Pacific Theatre of operations, and was employed at Trico Products in Buffalo before retiring in 1990. He was a member of the American Legion, Stephen Sikora Post in North Tonawanda and was a Past Commander of the American Legion Post in Dickson City, PA. Mr. Strugala was a past president of both U.A.W. Local 774 in the Town of Tonawanda and U.A.W. Local 2100 in Buffalo. He was a member of the North Tonawanda Democratic Committee and the Golf Committee at Deerwood Golf Course. An active member of the North Tonawanda Senior Citizens, he was secretary of their Men's Club and president of their bowling league. He had been the owner of the former T & T Tool Grinding Company in North Tonawanda and was the brother of the late Joseph and George Strugala.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Janet (nee Skutnick) Strugala; three daughters, Connie (Tom) Quinzio, Sherry (John) Moderacki, and Chris (Stan) Szewczyk; two sons, Ted (Sue) Strugala and Greg (Kelly) Strugala; and 13 grandchildren, Tanya (Bob) Loesch, Michael & Peter Quinzio, Jessica, Alex, Rachel, Stephen, Amanda, & Jared Strugala, Adriane & Matthew Moderacki, and Kiel & Emily Szewczyk. Also surviving are two sisters, Ann Manno and Frances Lubniewski; a brother, Stanley Strugala; and many nieces and nephews.

Thomas J. Haines
Tonawanda Graduate was Vietnam Veteran
Thomas J. Haines, age 54, of Tonawanda, died Saturday, July 19, 2003, at his residence after a long illness. Born December 2, 1948, in North Tonawanda, he was the son of the late James L. and Elizabeth (nee Bradley) Haines and had been a resident of Tonawanda for the greater part of his life. A graduate of Tonawanda High School and Buffalo State College, Mr. Haines was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish and was an avid guitar player, music enthusiast and artist. He had been employed as a development technician at Carleton Technology in Orchard Park until becoming disabled several years ago.
He is survived by two children, Katie and David Haines; an aunt, Gretchen Bradley; and several cousins.

Jane L. Kinneberg
Retired Special Education Aide
Jane (nee Forsaith) Kinneberg, age 77, of the Town of Tonawanda, died Tuesday, July 22, 2003, at Hospice Buffalo, after a long illness. Born March 3, 1926, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late James L. and Elizabeth Forsaith, Sr., and had been a resident of Tonawanda for 50 years. She was a member of the Eastern Star and the Ellicott Creek Fire Company Auxillary, and had been a Special Education Aide with the Sweethome School District before retiring.
She is survived by her husband of more than 55 years, Robert L. Kinneberg; a son, Robert (Charna) Kinneberg, Jr.; a daughter, Karen (Alan) Longmuir; and a brother, James (Nancy) Forsaith. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Heather, Brent and Cassie Kinneberg, and Chelsea Longmuir; and several nieces and nephews.

Anna P. Tabor
Army Veteran of WWII
Anna (nee Wielkiewicz) Tabor, age 80, of Tonawanda, died unexpectedly, Sunday, July 27, 2003, at her residence. Born June 18, 1923, in Thorpe, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Vincent and Mary (nee Horobowicz) Wielkiewicz, and had been a resident of Buffalo and then Swanton, Vermont before returning to the local area last fall. Mrs. Tabor was an Army Veteran of WWII. She was the wife of the late Valmont E. Tabor, who died March 14, 2000, and was predeceased by five brothers and two sisters.
She is survived by a son, William S. (MaryAnn) Tabor; four grandchildren, Frank (Cheryl) Tabor, Karen (Steve) Erdman, William E. (Ann) Tabor, and Kevin Tabor; three great-grandsons, Brandon, Jonathon, and William V.; a sister, Mary Wielkiewicz; and two brothers, Frank (Veronica) Wielkiewicz and Michael Wielkiewicz.

Alexander Szabo
Purple Heart Recipient
Alexander T. Szabo, age 89, of the Town of Amherst, died Friday, August 1, 2003, at Buffalo Hospice in Cheektowaga, after a long illness. Born on April 18, 1914 in Buffalo, he was the son of the late Andrew and Anna (nee Orosz) Szabo. A graduate of Canisius College with a degree in Accounting, he was a decorated Marine Corps Veteran of WWII, serving with the First Marine Division on Guadal Canal, where he earned the Purple Heart. Mr. Szabo was employed by the Immigration and Naturalization Service Border Patrol in Buffalo, where he was the Senior Patrol Agent in charge of the Niagara Falls Station in the Buffalo Border Patrol Sector when he retired on June 27, 1970. He was the husband of the late Marie Louise Szabo, who died October 17, 1987, and brother of the late Msgr. Julius J. Szabo, who died October 13, 2002.
He is survived by his daughter, Barbara Anne Szabo, and four grandchildren, Jeffrey T., Jonathan W., Jeremy M., and Alessandra M.. Also surviving are a sister-in-law, Berti and Frank Schultz, and a dear niece, Sharon Schultz Warner, all of Gainesville, Georgia.
A Latin Tridintine Requiem Mass was celebrated Wednesday at Our Lady Help of Christians Chapel in Cheektowaga, with Rev. David Bialkowski officiating. Interment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Mary Dolores Comer-Bowser

Mary Dolores (nee Schilling) Comer-Bowser, age 75, of North Tonawanda, died Sunday, August 3, 2003, at her home under the care of Niagara Hospice, after a long illness. Born October 26, 1927 in Buffalo, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Emma (nee McCallen) Schilling and had been a resident of North Tonawanda for more than 25 years, previously living in Buffalo. She had been employed as a court clerk in the Buffalo City Court before retiring, and had been a member of St. Margaret's Mothers Club in Buffalo. She was active with Eucharistic Adoration and the Rosary Society at Ascension R.C. Parish before becoming ill. Mrs. Comer-Bowser was an avid golfer and traveled extensively. She was the wife of the late H. Peter Comer, who died in 1993.
She is survived by her loving husband, Ronald E. Bowser of North Tonawanda; two devoted children, Peter Comer of Tampa, Florida and Mary (Don) Machowski of Concord, North Carolina; three step-daughters, Pam (Joe) Hash of Citrus Heights, California, Janet Kundl of Niagara Falls, New York, and Amy (Tim) Baxter of Niagara Falls, New York; a sister, Judy (Bill) Gorman of Kenmore, New York; and two brothers, Edward (Phyllis) Schilling of Florida and Richard (Jini) Schilling of Elmira, New York. Also surviving are 7 grandchildren, Eric and Stacie Phelps, Bridgette, Kelly and Courtney Comer, and Jessica and Emmalee Machowski; 5 step-grandchildren, Chris and Katey Kundl, Michael and John Baxter, and Nick Machowski; and many nieces and nephews.
