Stanley H. Komasara
Retired from American Axle Plant
Stanley H. Komasara, age 79, of Tonawanda, died unexpectedly, Thursday, August 7, 2003, at his residence. Born January 6, 1924, in Buffalo, he was the son of the late George and Florence (nee Koniechny) Komasara and had been a resident of Tonawanda for more than 40 years. Mr. Komasara had been employed at the American Axle Plant in Buffalo, before retiring, and was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Tonawanda. He was the husband of the late Dolores Komasara who died January 23, 2001, and father of the late George Komasara.
He is survived by two daughters, Patricia (Steven) Kelschenbach and Donna Komasara; a son, Chuck (Cheryl) Komasara; a brother, Edward (Lottie) Komasara; and a sister, Dorothy Stanilawski. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, a great-grandson and several nieces and nephews.
There will be no visitation. Friends are invited to celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 AM Monday at St. Francis Chapel on Adam Street in Tonawanda, followed by a brunch at Morgan's Restaurant on Delaware Avenue, just south of Sheridan Drive, in Kenmore. Interment will be cared for privately with the family. Arrangements by the Hamp Funeral Home, Inc., Adam & Seymour Streets, Tonawanda. If desired, memorials to the American Cancer Society, 101 John James Audubon Parkway, Amherst, NY 14228, are preferred by the family.

Lorraine F. Mutton
Retired from Jenss Twin-Ton
Lorraine (nee Bonn) Mutton, age 81, of Tonawanda, died Monday, August 18, 2003, after a brief illness. Born in Buffalo, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Marie Bonn and had been a resident of Tonawanda for the greater part of her life. Mrs Mutton was employed for more than 20 years at Jenss Twin-Ton before retiring, and was a member of Salem United Church of Christ in Tonawanda. She was the wife of the late Robert E. Mutton, who died in 1978.
She is survived by two sons, Rev. Dr. Robert D. (Vera) Mutton and David K. Mutton; four grandchildren, Dr. Holly Mutton, Thomas Mutton, Elizabeth Mutton, and Matthew Mutton; and a brother, Kenneth (Helen) Bonn. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews, and her former daughters-in-law, Nancy Payne and Susan Mutton.
There is no visitation. Friends are invited to attend a memorial service at 4 PM, Friday, September 5, at Salem United Church of Christ, Main and Morgan Streets in Tonawanda. If desired, memorials to Salem Church are preferred by the family. Arrangements by the Hamp Funeral Home, Inc., Adam and Seymour Streets, Tonawanda.

Gladys M. Sweeney
Longtime Buffalo Resident
Gladys M. Sweeney, age 66, of Buffalo, died Thursday, August 21, 2003, at the Erie County Medical Center, after a long illness. Born March 21, 1937, in Jamestown, NY, she was the daughter of the late John O. and Gladys (nee Strickland) Sweeney, Sr.. She had been a resident of Buffalo for the greater part of her life where she had lived on Covington Road. Ms. Sweeney had been a member of St. Rose of Lima R.C. Church before becoming ill.
She is survived by her brother, John Sweeney of Sarasota, Florida, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
There will be no visitation. Friends are invited to celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 AM Monday, at St. Timothy R.C. Church on East Park and Ensminger Roads in the Town of Tonawanda. Interment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in the Town of Tonawanda. Arrangements by the Hamp Funeral Home, Inc., Adam & Seymour Streets, Tonawanda.

Peter J. Cerutti, Jr.
Employed at PAR Industries
Peter J. Cerutti, Jr., age 40, of the Town of Amherst, died Monday, September 8, 2003, at Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital after a brief illness. Born June 21, 1963, in Melrose, Massachusetts, he was the son of Peter J. and Beverly (nee Santagate) Cerutti, and had been a resident of the local area for 20 years. A 1985 graduate of Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan, he was employed by Par Industries in Amherst.
He is survived by his parents, Peter and Beverly Cerutti of Ambler, PA; a sister, Linda (Gerald) Heinrich of Midland, MI; and a brother, Anthony J. Cerutti of Hartford, CT. Also surviving are a niece, 2 nephews, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Friends may call from 6-8 PM Wednesday at the Hamp Funeral Home, Inc., Adam and Seymour Streets, Tonawanda, where prayer services will be held at 8 PM Wednesday, the Rev. Msgr. James N. Connelly officiating. Friends invited. Interment will be cared for privately at the convenience of the family. If desired, memorials to the Suburban Dialysis Center, 1542 Maple Road, Williamsville, NY 14221, are preferred by the family.

Sr. Claire Marie Mulvihill, SSMN
Sr. Claire Marie Mulvihill, SSMN died Wednesday, September 10, 2003, at age 85, in Buffalo, NY. The former Rita Mulvihill was born in Arnprior, Ontario on July 11, 1918, daughter of the late William and Emma (Charbouneau) Mulvihill. Rita was the sixth of eight children in the family and she lived in Arnprior until she entered the Sisters of St. Mary of Namur in Buffalo, in February of 1946. On August 15, 1954, she professed Final Vows and as a Sister of St. Mary of Namur, she taught for 40 years in Parochial Schools in Buffalo (Holy Spirit, Blessed Sacrament, and Annunciation), Binghamton (St. Mary and St. Stanislaus), NY and Lowell (Sacred Heart), Massachusetts, and also in Florence (St. Ann) and Sumter, South Carolina. She received her Normal School diploma from Catholic University in 1956, and earned her Bachelor of Science Degree from Nazareth College in 1963.
Sr. Claire Marie is survived by one brother, Brian (Mary) Mulvihill of Belleville, Ontario, and by one sister, Sr. Mary Mulvihill, SSMN of Buffalo. Also surviving are a sister-in-law, Jean Mulvihill, 20 nieces and nephews, and all of her sisters in the congregation of St. Mary of Namur.
Friends may call from 4-8 PM on Thursday and Friday at St. Mary Center, 241 Lafayette Avenue in Buffalo, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM Saturday in the St. Mary Center Chapel. Friends invited. Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in the Town of Tonawanda, NY. If desired, memorials to the Sisters of St. Mary Infirmary Fund, 257 Lafayette Avenue, Buffalo, NY 14213 are preferred.

Myrtle A. Dobmeier
Operated Town of Tonawanda Marina
Myrtle "Betty" (nee Fennell) Dobmeier, age 91, of the Town of Tonawanda, died Monday, September 29, 2003, at the McAuley Residence after a long illness. Born July 22, 1912, in Eldon, Ontario, she was the daughter of the late Oliver and Leta (nee Oliver) Fennell, and had been a resident of the Town of Tonawanda for the greater part of her life. Along with her late husband, Mrs. Dobmeier had operated a small marina in the Town of Tonawanda for several years, and had been a member of the American Motorboat Club. She was the wife of the late Harold "Whitey" Dobmeier, who died December 26, 1984.
She is survived by a nephew, Harold (Debbie) Fennell and family; and two nieces, Vermell (Jim) Stevens and family, and Susan Fennell and family.
Friends may call after 10 AM Thursday at the Hamp Funeral Home, Inc., Adam & Seymour Streets, Tonawanda, where funeral services will be held at 11 AM Thursday; the Rev. Ronald Keaton officiating. Friends are invited. Interment will be cared for privately at Elmlawn Cemetery in the Town of Tonawanda.

Alphonse Ward
Retired from Dunlop Tire
Alphonse Ward, age 85, of the Town of Tonawanda, died Wednesday, October 8, 2003, at his son's home under the care of Buffalo Hospice, after a long illness. Born August 1, 1918 in Waterveliet, NY, he was the son of the late Stanley and Sophie (nee Manravikas) Cizanckas, and had been a resident of the Tonawandas for the greater part of his life. A Navy Veteran of WWII, he worked as an industrial engineer at the Dunlop Tire Factory in Tonawanda for 37 years, until retiring in 1973. He was the husband of the late Dorothy (nee Havens) Ward, who died October 31, 1996.
He is survived by three sons, Donald (Roberta) Ward of Pearson, Florida, Robert (Marcia) Ward of Pendleton, New York, and Alan (Terri) Ward of the Town of Tonawanda, New York. Also surviving are three grandchildren.
There will be no visitation. A Memorial Service will be held privately for the family. If desired, memorials to Hospice Buffalo, 225 Como Park Blvd, Buffalo, NY 14227-1480, are preferred by the family.
