Bartel, Ruth A., (nee Wilke) age 90, formerly of North Tonawanda on Tuesday (February 10, 2004) at the St. Francis Home of Williamsville after a long illness. Mrs. Bartel was a life long member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church. She retired from the North Tonawanda School System where she was a cook at several schools. She was the wife of the late Carl A. Bartel, mother of the late David K. Bartel and grandmother of the late Matthew B. Armstrong.
Beloved mother of Ronald (Marcia) Bartel of Port Richey, Florida, Sharon (Dennis) Clements of Rolling Hills, California and Jean (Timothy) Armstrong of Amherst. Loving grandmother of Mark, Kris, Keith, Scott and Kevin Bartel, Ryan Clements, Brian, Scott and Kaitlin Armstrong.

Paul William Rader, 61, of North Tonawanda on Wednesday (February 25, 2004) at Buffalo General Hospital after a long illness. Mr. Rader was retired from General Motors Tonawanda Forge. He was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church and a US Navy Veteran.
Beloved father of Lisa (Daniel) Wolfe, Michael Rader, Melanie (Michael) Rongo, Todd Rader and Paul R. Rader. Loving brother of Karen A. Rader and Terry D. (Thomas) Dunbar. Proud grandfather of Danielle, Shannon, Stephanie, Jamie, Michael and Tanya. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Dora C. Spaziani, 83, of North Tonawanda on Thursday (February 26, 2004) after a brief illness. Mrs. Spaziani was a member of the North Tonawanda Congregation of the Jehovah’s Witnesses. Dora retired from the former Budwey’s Bells Supermarket where she was the former produce manager. She was the wife of the late Achille Spaziani and the mother of the late Bernard A. Spaziani.
Beloved mother of Antionette (Robert) Copello of North Tonawanda and Joanne (Donald) Pierce of Lockport. Dear sister of Gina (Fred) Taddei of North Tonawanda. Loving grandmother Debra, Vickie, Susan, Diana, Marie, Tina, Tammi, Bernie and Mark and 16 great-grandchildren.

Benjamin H. Glenn
Retired from Spaulding Fibre
Benjamin H. Glenn, 82, of North Tonawanda, formerly of Wilson, NY at the Delaware Rehabilitation Center in Buffalo on Friday (February 27, 2004). Mr. Glenn was a member of Ascension R.C. Church. He retired from Spaulding Fibre and worked part time for Sentrex in Niagara Falls. Brother of the late Esther Beckett. Mr. Glenn was a decorated U.S. Army WWII Veteran. A sharpshooter with the 90th infantry whose troop stormed the beaches of Normandy, France. Ben will be receiving the Bronze Star, posthumously, on Sunday presented by the Western New York Meritorious Service Group. He was an avid weight-lifter who held the USA Masters Record for 60 and older open bench press at 303.1 pounds. Before entering the service, he worked as a farm hand on his father’s farm on Irish Road in Wilson, NY.
Beloved Husband of Sharon R. (nee Richardson) Glenn of North Tonawanda. Loving Step-father of Charles J. (Trish) Fink, Cheryl (Steven) Friedel, David R. Fink, Gerry M. Fink and Diane (Brian) Roberts. Grandfather of seven grandchildren. Also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Retired U.S. Postal Carrier
Charles J. Pawlick, 86, of North Tonawanda on Sunday (March 7, 2004) at DeGraff Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. Mr. Pawlick was a member of Ascension R.C. Church. He retired from the US Postal Service where he was a letter carrier for 31 years. He was a US Army WWII Veteran and served in the 69th Infantry. He served in D-Day and the Battle of the Bulge. He was a member of Stephen Sikora Post and the National Association of Letter Carriers. Beloved husband of the late Anna R. (nee Margowski) Pawlick.
Beloved father of Robert C. (Leeann) Pawlick of Machias, NY. Loving and Proud grandfather of Robert (Tina) Pawlick II of Convoy, OH, Rachel Pawlick of North Tonawanda and Michelle Pawlick of Buffalo. Dear brother of Marie Pawlick of Lancaster. Also survived by four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Theresa M. Maiolo (nee Battisti), 71, of North Tonawanda on Friday (March 12, 2004) after a brief illness. Mrs. Maiolo was a member of Ascension R.C. Church. She was a member of Sadality of the Blessed Virgin Mary. She retired from the former Payne Avenue Branch of the Marine Midland Bank in 1988.
Beloved wife of Raymond A. Maiolo of North Tonawanda. Dear daughter of Elizabeth (the late Louis) Battisti of Wheatfield, formerly of North Tonawanda. Mildred C. Fredrickson (nee Scholin), 83, on Saturday (March 13, 2004) formerly of North Tonawanda at the Rosa Copeland Home at the Weinburg Campus. Mildred was born in Jamestown, NY on October 26, 1920 to Eric F. and Signe Scholin. Mildred was Valedictorian of the 1938 graduating class of Jamestown High School. She married Ernest R. Fredrickson in 1942 and moved to the Tonawandas’ in 1951. Mildred was a member of St. Martin Lutheran Church. She retired as office manager for Dr. Daniel Fahey in Kenmore. She was a member of the Quota Club.
