Morningstar, Karan, (nee Zupo) 56, of Wheatfield after a long illness at Kenmore Mercy Hospital. Karan was a Certified Nurses Assistant and worked for the DeGraff Adult Day Care Facility. She was the sister of the late James Schimek and Yvonne Martinia.

Charles J. Pawlick
Retired U.S. Postal Carrier Charles J. Pawlick, 86, of North Tonawanda on Sunday (March 7, 2004) at DeGraff Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. Mr. Pawlick was a member of Ascension R.C. Church. He retired from the US Postal Service where he was a letter carrier for 31 years. He was a US Army WWII Veteran and served in the 69th Infantry. He served in D-Day and the Battle of the Bulge. He was a member of Stephen Sikora Post and the National Association of Letter Carriers.
Beloved husband of the late Anna R. (nee Margowski) Pawlick. Beloved father of Robert C. (Leeann) Pawlick of Machias, NY. Loving and Proud grandfather of Robert (Tina) Pawlick II of Convoy, OH, Rachel Pawlick of North Tonawanda and Michelle Pawlick of Buffalo. Dear brother of Marie Pawlick of Lancaster. Also survived by four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Paul William Rader, 61, of North Tonawanda on Wednesday (February 25, 2004) at Buffalo General Hospital after a long illness. Mr. Rader was retired from General Motors Tonawanda Forge. He was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church and a US Navy Veteran.
Beloved father of Lisa (Daniel) Wolfe, Michael Rader, Melanie (Michael) Rongo, Todd Rader and Paul R. Rader. Loving brother of Karen A. Rader and Terry D. (Thomas) Dunbar. Proud grandfather of Danielle, Shannon, Stephanie, Jamie, Michael and Tanya. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Paul R. Schlehr
Schlehr, Paul R. 79, of Tonawanda on Monday (February 14, 2005) at Kenmore Mercy Hospital, after a long illness. A life long Western New York resident, he grew up in North Buffalo. He graduated from Buffalo Technical High School. After attending MIT University for a year, he joined the US Army. He was a member of the 87th Infantry Division and saw action during the Battle of the Bulge in Belgium along with other fighting in the liberation of Europe. He suffered from the injuries he sustained during the brutal European winter of 1944 and 1945 for the remainder of his life. He was awarded a number of decorations for his military service including the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart.
Returning to Buffalo after the war, he continued his education and graduated from the University of Buffalo with a degree in Business Administration. He worked briefly as a civil engineer and for a local GM Dealership before joining the family business. He and his father ran the AC Schlehr Company, a specialty advertising company until his retirement in the 1990’s.
Outside his business, he was active in a number of civic organizations. He was Past Commander of the George F. Lamm Post of the American Legion. He became well known to many first time local boaters as an US Power Squadron instructor for the years he taught boating safety. After holding a number of ranks, he became a Commander of the Swift Water Power Squadron of North Tonawanda. He was active in his local church, St. Christopher in Tonawanda and taught religious instructions there for many years.
In addition to his love for boating in WNY and Canada, he used to enjoy playing golf with an old friend and was an expert marksman; belonging to a number of shooting clubs in the 50’s and 60’s.He was also a long time Buffalo Bills Fan.
Beloved husband of Marion E. (Thompson) Schlehr. Dear father of Kenneth (Roberta) Schlehr, Robert (Marilyn) Schlehr, Kathleen (Robert) Brown, Andrew (Cindy) Schlehr and Diane (Michael) DiTonto. Brother of Phyllis (Edward) Schilling, Janice Merrick and Patricia Frizelle. Grandfather of 12 grandchildren. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at 9:30 AM at St. Christopher R.C. Church on Niagara Falls Blvd. Interment will be private. Dorothy Schoenfeldt
Member of North Presbyterian Church Dorothy “Dot” Schoenfeldt (nee Nicholson) 79, of North Tonawanda on Monday (April 5, 2004) at Elderwood at Crestwood Nursing Facility. Mrs. Schoenfeldt was a member of North Presbyterian Church for over 56 years. She was active in the North Tonawanda Garden Club and Flower Chairman at her church. She at one time worked at Remington Rand and the Wales-Strippit Company formerly in North Tonawanda. Sister of the late Betty Jane Burtch and Weston Nicholson.
Beloved wife of 56 years to James H. Schoenfeldt of North Tonawanda. Loving mother of Beth (William) Exton of Perry, NY. Paul (Althea) Schoenfeldt of Richardson TX and David (Laurie) Schoenfeldt of Lockport. Proud and loving grandmother of Heather, Dawn and Amber Exton and Audra, Philip and Haley Schoenfeldt . Schulmeister, Esther R. (nee Burns) age 84, of North Tonawanda on Monday, (July 12, 2004) at DeGraff Memorial Hospital. Esther was a member of Ascension R.C. Church. Wife of the late Willard L. Schulmeister, mother of the late Carol Ann Schulmeister, grandmother of the late Jason Linville and sister of the late Margaret Mellors, Maryann Rapplyea and William Burns.
Loving mother of Rosemary (Harold) Kaman, Arizona, Ellen R. Schulmeister of Michigan, Willard L. (Deborah) Schulmeister, Jr. of North Tonawanda, Robin (John) Perry of North Tonawanda, Janet L. Shamrock Arthur
Shamrock, Arthur “Sonny” 85, of North Tonawanda died at DeGraff Memorial Hospital on Wednesday February 9th, 2005 after a long illness. He was a lifelong resident of North Tonawanda and had been a resident of Crestwood Health Care Facility for the past three years. Arthur was a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church. He had worked at Lampe Motor Company and Colonial Ford for over 30 years. Arthur was a WWII U.S. Army-Air Corps Veteran serving in Europe and was awarded the EAME Service Medal with 1 bronze Battle Star. He was an avid Buffalo Bills Fan and enjoyed fishing, baseball and bowling for many years. Husband of the late Louise Shamrock and son of the late Arthur and Esther Shamrock.
Beloved father of Michael (Joan) Shamrock and proud grandfather of Michael G. Shamrock. Dear brother of Doris Papoi and uncle of Diane (Vince) Pearson, Donna Madole. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
