Lewis Chapman of Eden Heights and a former resident of Springville for several years, died Friday, April 4, at age 83. He is survived by a son, Paul (Margaret); a granddaughter Kim (David) Chesteen, and a grandson Greg Chapman. He was predeceased by his wife, Katherine. Also survived by a dear friend, Edna Crawford. Schweickert; also survived by seven grandchildren and a sister. Roger C. Sarver, of West Valley, April 7, 2003. Husband of Darlene C. Sarver (nee Bristol); father of Daniel B., Roxanne R. and Carianne L. Sarver; son of Jean Sarver (nee Thomas) and the late Floyd Sarver; brother of Richard (Karen) Sarver, Donald (Joan) Sarver, Audrey O'Niel and Barbara (Clyde) Green. Ruth K. Mahl Mueller
Ruth K. Mahl Mueller, 82, of Youngstown, formerly of Springville, died Tuesday, April 15, 2003 in Mount St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston, after a short illness.
She was born in Buffalo, the daughter of the late Raymond and Dora (Lake) Biddlecom, and graduated from South Park High School in South Buffalo. She lived most of her life in Springville.
She married Burdell Mahl in 1946, who died in 1982. She married Fred Mueller in 1989 and had resided in Youngstown for the past five years.
Mrs. Mahl worked as a receptionist at Bertrand Chaffee Hospital in Springville for five years, and was a secretary at Curtiss Wright Corporation in Buffalo for six years. While in Springville she was active in the Cordelian Club and was a former member of the Spring- ville Country Club. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Youngstown and a member of its Friends and New Membership Committee. She also belonged to the Youngstown Garden Club, and enjoyed golfing and traveling throughout the world.
She was the wife of Fred Mueller of Youngstown, mother of Judy (Reed) Donelli and Jerry Mahl, both of Youngstown; sister of Dorothy Mohr of Depew, Gladys (Jake) O'Connor of Hamburg, and the late Robert and Chuck Biddlecom and Joan Kreuzer; stepmother of Frederick (Barbara) Mueller of Junior, WV, Richard (Judy) Mueller of Irma, SC, Linda Mueller of Cheektowaga, and the late Robert Mueller; grandmother of seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Friday morning at 10 o'clock from the First Presbyterian Church of Youngstown. The Rev. Rex Ste- wart officiated. Burial was in St. Aloysius RC Cemetery, Springville. Elsie Ann (Parry) Porter (known to everyone as Nain), April 16, 2003, in East Concord. Born May 22, 1910 in Wymore, Nebraska to Griffith Parry and Kate Hughes, Elsie graduated from Nebraska Wesleyan University at Lincoln, Class of 1933 and was a member of Alpha Delta Theta Sorority. She married Dr. Richard C. Porter in 1938 in Wymore. He passed away in 1957. Mother of Ann (Thomas) Hall, Richard (Helen) Porter and Charles K. Porter; grandmother of Dahlia, Samuel, Charles Porter, Thomas, Chloe and Jessica Hall. Funeral services were held Saturday morning at 10:30 from the First Presbyterian Church, Springville. The Rev. Mr. Wentland was a World War II Army veteran, having served from 1943-1946 and received a Purple Heart while serving; past-president and treasurer of the Eden-North Collins Rotary, having been a member for more than 20 years. He was a past member of the Board of Directors at Lake Shore Hospital and Tri-County Hospital Board; and was a past board member of the Erie County Funeral Directors; past president of the North Collins Little League; a member of IOOF Buffalo Fortune Lodge, North Collins F&AM #788; an exempt member of the North Collins Volunteer Fire Department; a member of the William R. Dils VFW Post 1999; a member of Disabled American Veterans; former member of the North Collins Boy Scouts.
He was born in Buffalo and graduated from the Simmons School of Embalming at Syracuse in 1952 and became a licensed funeral director in 1953. In 1957 he established the Wentland Funeral Home, which he sold to his son, Gary, in 1986 but continued working there until his death.

Kreitner of Portland, Oregon, Robert J. Kreitner III of Phoenix, Arizona, and Peter R. Kreitner of Vashon, Washington; grandmother of seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
