Ronald H. "Uncle Ron" Ehman of Olean, Tuesday, February 10, 2004 at his home following an illness.
Mr. Ehman was born on Beaver Meadows Road in the town of Ellicottville, the son of Howard and Anne Blohm Ehman. He married Margaret H. Moses in 1956 at St. Joseph Maronite Church. She died in 1994.
He was a 1943 graduate of West Valley High School and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. During that time he served on the 85th Bomb Disposal Squad and received the Army of Occupation Medal and the WW II Victory Medal.
Mr. Ehman was employed at Hysol in Olean for many years. He was a member of St. Joseph Maronite Church and enjoyed hunting and fishing, farming and playing cards.
Survivors include a sister, Jean R. Wells; 33 nieces and nephews; and many great-nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Friday morning at 10:30 from the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home in Olean, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial from St. Joseph Maronite Church at 11 o'clock. The Rev. Joseph G Akiki, officiated. Burial was in St. Bonaventure Cemetery, Allegany. Expressions of sympathy may be made to a charity of choice.
Kay Ferrin Blais
Private funeral services were held Tuesday at Memorial Park Cemetery, St. Petersburg, Florida for Kay Ferrin Blais, who died February 9, 2004, at Sabal Palms Health Care in Largo, Florida.
She was born in Springville in 1941, the daughter of the late Alson and Bernice Ferrin. She was a graduate of Griffith Institute and Syracuse University with a BS in speech.
Kay was band instrument sales and studio teaching coordinator at Clark Music in Syracuse for 13 years; also had been employed at Al Havener's Musicland and was self-employed playing music therapy programs in nursing homes, Alzheimer's units and ALFs; and taught group organ lessons at On Top of the World. She also was a volunteer board member/officer of Project Pets Uplifting People (pet therapy), and was a member of Clowns Galore Clown Alley in Clearwater, FL and the Tampa Bay Magic Club.
She was the niece of Dick (Barbara) Mahl of Springville and St. James City, FL, Ruth Mahl of Buffalo, Alma Whittaker of Ballston Spa; also survived by several cousins and friends.
Rena Mae Kruse (nee Davis)
Rena Mae Kruse (nee Davis), February 10, 2004, at Legacy Health Care Facility, Williamsville, formerly of Springville. She was born in Machias in 1916 to Ross and Dora (Fox) Davis, and graduated from West Valley School.
She worked as a housekeeper/cook at Griffith Institute and was a member of St. Aloysius Church and the Altar and Rosary Society.
She was the wife of the late Urban Kruse; mother of Doris (late George) Pleace of Arcade, William (Irene) Stauffer Jr. of North Tonawanda, Loraine (Ray) West of Pavilion and Kenneth (Sharon Ebling) Stauffer of Utica; stepmother of Dorothy (Clayton) Wagner of Machias; also survived by 16 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren; sister of the late Lillian Kruse, Chester and DeHart Davis.
Funeral services were held from the Smith-Weismantel Funeral Home, Inc., 271 East Main Street, Springville on Saturday morning at 11 o'clock. The Rev. John S. Kwiecien officiated. Burial in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, West Valley.
Loretta E. Greuschow (nee Major)
Loretta E. Greuschow (nee Major) of Boston, February 15, 2004. Wife of the late Harvey F.; mother of Gary (Darlene), Linda (Frank) Prell, Donald (Maureen), Joanne (Lewis) Candi, Janice (Patrick) Jeswald, Sandra Green and Cheryl (Alan) Andrews; sister of Kenneth Major and the late Francis Major, Isabelle Kirkby and Hazel Brown; also survived by 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock from St. John's U.C.C., Eden. Memorials may be made to Hospice Foundation, Inc. Laura Jean Fleckenstein
Laura Jean Fleckenstein, 82, died February 15, 2004 at the Randolph Manor in Randolph.
She was born in 1921 in East Otto, the daughter of the late Dever and Rachael (Sikes) Brooks.
Laura graduated from Cattaraugus High School in 1941, She married Edwin C. Fleckenstein in 1941, was a homemaker and helped on the family farm, and also worked at Fisher Price in Arcade. She was a member of the local Farm Bureau, the United Methodist Women and Town Historian for East Otto.
She was the wife of Edwin C. Fleckenstein of Springville; mother of Keith D. (Mariann) Fleckenstein of Rockford, Ind., Ella Mae (Donald) Adams of Cattaraugus, Patricia J. (Oscar) McCabe of Boulder City, NV, Edwina J. (Steven) DeRosa of Burlington, NC; grand other of 12 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; sister of Philo Brooks of Ransomville and twin Lora Jane Wilms of Amherst, OH, and the late Robert Brooks and Torrance Brooks.
Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 11 o'clock from the East Otto United Methodist Church. The Rev. Irwin W. Reist will officiate. Burial will be in the East Otto Cemetery.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to the East Otto Fire Department or East Otto United Methodist Church.

Harold J. "Cam" Cammarata, suddenly, October 1, 2004 of North Collins at age 69. Husband of the late Nancy (Bailey) Cammarata; father of Michael (Jeanne) Cammarata, Susan M. Cammarata, Mary Fetzner and the late David J. Cammarata; grandfather of Casina, Sarah and Daniel; brother of Marco Cammarata. Jerald W. Krise Sr.
Jerald W. Krise Sr., age 64, of Liverpool, passed away October 10, 2004, at his home, after a seven-month battle with cancer. He was raised in Springville and retired from Agway Inc. after a 33-year career. He was a Navy veteran and a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church.
He was the husband of Joan (nee Baer); father of Cynthia (Thomas) Mitchell and Jerald W. (Gerri Lynn) Krise Jr., all of Baldwinsville; brother of Webster (Dorothy) Krise Jr. of Tipp City, Ohio and Chloe (Robert) Farner of Springville; and grandfather of Sarah and Stephen Mitchell and Ryan and Morgan Krise.
Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 10 o'clock from St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Baldwinsville. Burial will be private.
