MOHAWK - Robert F. Goebel, Jr., 47, of Yule Corners Road, died on Wednesday November 8, 2000 in his home.
Born on February 24, 1953, in Herkimer, he was the son of Rose A. Massaro Goebel Goodman and the late Robert F. Goebel, Sr.
A lifelong area resident, he was raised and educated in Herkimer.
On February 12, 1993, he married Karen Ferrucci in Richfield Springs.
For many years, Bob was a self-employed carpenter.
In June of this year, he went to work for Harrington Butler Builders in Cooperstown.
He took great pride in his work and always lived up to his reputation.
Among his works was the restoration project at the Church of the Good Shepard in Cullen, which he was very dedicated to.
He was a member of the Saint John s Episcopal Church , Richfield Springs.
Surviving him are his loving wife, Karen; two daughters, Terra and Lianne Goebel of Palm Coast, FL; his mother, Rose and step-father Harry Goodman of Springfield Center; three sisters, Jane and her husband Frank Getman of West Winfield, Janet and her husband Jerry Gilbert of East Herkimer, Leona Goebel of Burlington, VT; a step-brother, Brad Goodman of Mohawk; a step-sister, Stacey Nunneker of Kannapolis, NC; nine nieces and nephews, James and Kathy Ward, Sarah-Jane and Benjamin Getman, Josiah, Isaiah, Elijah and Hannah Gilbert, Grant Goebel; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
A reading of the Burial Office and Celebration of Holy Communion from the Book of Common Prayer will take place on Monday at 10:00 a.m. in Saint John s Episcopal Church Richfield Springs.
The Reverend John Dixon Bartle, Rector will officiate.
Committal will be private and at the convenience of the family.
The family will present to receive relatives and friends in Fenner Funeral Home Inc., 115 Court Street, Herkimer, Sunday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.
Memorial donations may be made to the Church of the Good Shepard, Cullen in care of Saint John s Episcopal Church, Richfield Springs.

Harry Smith
HERKIMER - Harry D. Smith, 70, of E. German St., passed away Thursday, Feb. 22, 2001, in St. Elizabeth's Medical Center, Utica.
He was born June 8, 1930, in Herkimer, son of the late Arthur H. and Grace Gordon Smith.
A lifelong Herkimer resident, he was a graduate of Herkimer High School, "Class of 1950."
An honorably discharged U.S. Army veteran, he served our country during the Korean War.
For 20 years, he was employed as a shipping clerk for the Allegro Shoe Co. in Little Falls.
In 1985, he went to work for LaSalle Labs in Little Falls, retiring in 1992.
He was a member of the Herkimer Reformed Church, where he sang in the church choir.
Harry was a Past Commander of Adirondack Post of the American Legion in Cold Brook; he belonged to the Ilion Moose Lodge 31, the Forty and Eight and the AARP.
Surviving him are two brothers, Bruce Smith of Herkimer and James and his wife, Connie Smith, of East Herkimer; a sister, Sheila Servadio, of Herkimer; three nieces and three nephews.
Besides his parents, a brother, Wayne Smith, in 1977 and a brother-in-law, Angelo Servadio, in 1981, preceded him in death.
Funeral service will be Sunday at 2 p.m. in Fenner Funeral Home Inc., 115 Court St., Herkimer.
The Rev. Donald Battjes, pastor of the Herkimer Reformed Church will officiate.
Interment will be later this spring in Oak Hill Cemetery.
The family will be present in the funeral home to receive relatives and friends today (Saturday) from 4-7 p.m.

Edith S. Graves
Was a member of American Legion Ladies Auxiliary
HERKIMER - Edith S. Graves, 81, of Gray Street, passed away Wednesday, April 12, 2000, in Bassett Healthcare, Cooperstown.
She was born Oct. 10, 1918, in Ilion, daughter of the late Clarence and Jenny Sprague.
Edith was raised in Ilion, was a graduate of Ilion High School and furthered her education at Syracuse University.
On July 31, 1948, she married George Graves in the Methodist Church, Ilion.
She was a resident of Herkimer since 1969, coming here from Mohawk.
For many years, she worked for the Olde English Cleaners, Herkimer.
She was a former member of Myrtle Chapter OES and was a member of the Crowley-Barnum American Legion Post 25 Ladies Auxiliary, where she ran the Bingo night and was the auxiliary liaison to various groups.
Surviving besides her husband of 51 years, George, are one son, Rex and his wife, Jean Graves of New Hartford; two daughters and their husbands, Sandy and Wayne DeCarr of Warners, and Cindy and Derek Woertendyke of West Oneonta; a brother, Richard Sprague and his wife, Marge of Ilion; two sisters, Joan Ward of Watkins Glen, Betty Lou and her husband, Robert Whittemore of Oswego; seven grandchildren, Ezra and Marie Graves, Derek and Jason Woertendyke, Heidi and her husband, Peter Armao, Christine and Wayne DeCarr; two great-grandchildren, Michal Paige and Keaton Armao; several nieces, nephews and cousins; two sisters-in-law, Ruth Miller of Frankfort and Helen Sprague of Sherburne, as well as her husband's uncle, John Graves, of Newport.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Sprague.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in Fenner Funeral Home Inc., 115 Court St., Herkimer, with the Rev. David Oertel, Folts Homes chaplain, officiating.
Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
The family will be present to receive friends and relatives in the funeral home today (Friday) from 4-7 p.m.
Memorial donations may be made to MOVAC.

John Tinkler
HERKIMER - John Tinkler, age 92, of 315 North Prospect Street, passed away on Saturday morning, October 20, 2001 in Valley Health Services Inc., Herkimer.
He was born on February 3, 1909 in Herkimer, son of the late Albert and Rachel Orendorf Tinkler.
A lifelong area resident, John was raised and educated in Paines Hollow.
He moved to Herkimer in 1923 and had resided there since.
For thirty years, he was employed with Remington Rand, Sperry UNIVAC, retiring as stock room manager in 1971.
On August 7, 1971, he married Rita Savage Flannagan in the Newport United Methodist Church.
The Reverend Russell Little officiated.
He was a member of the Remington twenty-five year club.
He had a strong belief in God and was a Methodist by faith.
Besides his wife of thirty years, Rita, he is survived by two sons and their wives, Duane and Arlene Tinkler of Columbus, OH, Jack and Judy Tinkler of Ilion; two daughters and their husbands, Joan and Ronald Schorer of Mohawk, Diana and Marvin (Sonny) Briggs of Ilion; six grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
A grandson, Duane Loce, preceded him in death in 1979 and a daughter, Yvonne Tinkler, in 1997.
A memorial service will take place on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. in Fenner Funeral Home, Inc., 115 Court Street, Herkimer, with the Reverend William Otis, pastor of the First United Methodist Church Herkimer officiating.
Interment will follow in Mountain View Memorial Gardens, town of Little Falls.
The family will be present in the funeral home one hour prior to the memorial service (9- 10 a.m.) to receive relatives and friends.
