Mohawk - Harry G. King "Toot", 84, of Creek Roadz, passed away on Friday morning, December 22, 2000 in Little Falls Hospital.
He was born March 27, 1916 in Herkimer, son of the late William and Grace Pinkstone King.
He was raised in Herkimer, and educated in Herkimer Schools.
An honorably discharged World War II veteran, he had served with the U.S. Army.
On January 30, 1942, he married Isabel Dibble in Christ Episcopal Church, Herkimer.
A loving and devoted union of fifty-two years until her passing on June 17, 1994.
A resident of Mohawk since 1942, Mr. King had his own trucking and hauling business in Mohawk.
He was a member Christ Episcopal Church, Herkimer.
Surviving him are a sister, Mary O Connell of Ilion, several nieces and nephews.
Besides his beloved parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, William and Elmer King and a sister, Catherine Keefe.
Funeral Service will take place on Wednesday at 9:00am in Fenner Funeral Home, Inc., 115 Court Street, Herkimer, with the Rev. Brian Kellington Rector of Christ Episcopal Church, Herkimer, officiating.
Interment will be in Mohawk Cemetery next spring.
The family will be present in the funeral home to receive relatives and friends on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9pm.

Pauline Madore
HERKIMER - Pauline Madore, 81, of South Bellinger Street, died on Monday, November 13, 2000, in St. Luke s Memorial Hospital Center, New Hartford.
She was born on April 19, 1919 in Herkimer, daughter of the late Antonio and Marie Domenica Annutto.
A lifelong Herkimer resident, she was educated in Herkimer Schools.
It was on November 26, 1955 that she married George J. Madore in Saint Anthony s Church, Herkimer.
For many years, she had worked in the garment industry and later, with a love for growing plants and flowers, owned and operated Madore s Greenhouse in Herkimer.
She was a member of the Church of Sts. Anthony and Joseph, Herkimer, the Herkimer Crusaders Auxiliary and the Anthony R. George Post Ladies Auxiliary.
Surviving besides her beloved husband of forty-five years, George, are one daughter, Georgina, and her husband, John Richard Viscosi, two granddaughters; Georgina Marie and Felicia Richelle Viscosi all of Gloversville, two sisters; Florence M. Annutto and Elizabeth Lidano, both of Herkimer, many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded death by five brothers; Philip Annutto, Anthony Annutto, Al Massaro, Nicholas Annatta and Alphonso Annotto, two sisters; Antoinette Campagna and Lillian Morra.

A Mass of Christian will be celebrated at 9:30 AM in the church of Sts. Anthony and Joseph.
The Reverend Robert Shinos, pastor, will officiate.
Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
The family will be present in the funeral home to receive relatives and friends on Wednesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM.

William Mang
ILION - William Mang, 79, of Jordanville Road, died on Monday evening, July 10, 2000 in Folts Homes, Herkimer.
He was born on March 25, 1921 in Dolgeville, son of the late Frank and Esther Mae Eaker Mang.
A lifelong area resident, he was educated in Richfield Springs Schools.
On August 10, 1940, he married Gertrude Eggleston in Richfield Springs.
He first worked for the Town of Warren and for twenty-three years, was a heavy equipment operator for the New York State Department of Transportation, retiring in 1959.
Bill was a man well-loved by his family and friends.
He truly cared for everyone he knew.
Bill loved the outdoors where he would hunt and fish.
He was a member of the Columbia Center United Methodist Church.
Surviving, besides his wife of fifty-nine years, Gertrude, are a son; Gary Mang of Poughkeepsie, three daughters and their husbands; Judy and Larry Sickler of Frankfort, Cathy and James Schultz of Mohawk, Robin and David Mergenthaler of Stephen City, VA, two brothers and their wives; Charles and Elsie Mang of South Columbia, Robert and Jean Mang of Cooperstown, a sister; Elizabeth VanCort of Herkimer, six grandchildren; Larry Sickler, Jr. and his wife, Joanne of Ilion, Timothy and his wife, Michelle Schultz, of Mohawk, David Mergenthaler Jr. (U.S. Coast Guard) and his wife, Colette of Holt, MI, Tammy Sickler Morgan, Sheila and her husband Leslie Hosler, Shelly and her husband Michael Cole all of Ilion, several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandson, Daniel Mergenthaler, in 1989, and a sister, Eleanor Dziadik.
Funeral service will be on Thursday at 11:00 AM in Fenner Funeral Home Inc., 115 Court Street, Herkimer.
The Reverend Hans Drews, pastor of the Columbia Center United Methodist Church, will officiate.
Interment will follow in Cedarville Cemetery.

Norma Newman
HERKIMER - Norma Newman, 70, of 690 West German Street, formerly of Eastern Gardens went to be her Lord on Thursday afternoon, November 30, 2000 in Little Falls Hospital.
She was born on June 22, 1930 in Herkimer, daughter of the late Sewell and Marcella Williams Lepper.
A lifelong Herkimer resident, she was a graduate of Herkimer High School.
Norma had worked in the Glove Factory and General Electric Company but her primary job was caring for her family.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Herkimer, and the ladies Auxiliary of the Michael Pliseck V.F.W. Post # 4915, Herkimer.
Surviving her are two sons, Mark and his wife, Joan Newman of Johnson City, Tim Newman of Herkimer, a daughter, Sally and her husband, Michael Taylor of Frankfort, two grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral service will be on Monday at 11:00am in Fenner Funeral Home, Inc., 115 Court Street, Herkimer, with The Reverend William H. Otis, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, Herkimer, officiating.
Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
The family will be present to receive relatives and friends on Sunday from 4:00- 7:00pm.
Members of the Michael Pliseck VFW Post #4915 Auxiliary are asked to meet at the funeral home on Sunday for services at 6:00pm.
