HERKIMER - Maryette Darling, 86, formerly of 215 Margaret Street, died on Saturday morning, January 15, 2000 in Little Falls Hospital.
She was born on May 19, 1913 in Mohawk, daughter of the late Charles G. and Katherine Cary Ranney.
A lifelong area resident, she was a graduate of Mohawk High School and Oneonta Normal School.
On February 21, 1942, she married Marvin S. Darling in Grace Episcopal Church, Mohawk, a loving and devoted union of forty-six years until his passing in 1984.
As a school teacher, she first taught in a one-room schoolhouse in Schuyler.
For twenty-eight years she taught in area schools, retiring from the Utica School System in 1973.
She was a member of the Grace Episcopal Church, Mohawk, where she had served on the church Vestry, a member and Past Matron of Mohawk Chapter #319 Order of the Eastern Star, the Amaranth, Daughters of Founders and Patriots and the New York State Retired Teachers Association.
Surviving her are one son, Curtis and his wife, Jill Darling, of Johnstown; a daughter, Charlotte Flynn, of Delmar; two sisters, Allene, and her husband, Robert Hoover, of Statesville, NC, Lucille Kidd of Hudson, FL; five grandchildren, Ryan Flynn of Guam, Alan Flynn of Denver, CO, Megan Flynn of Albany, Molly Flynn of Delmar and Kyle Flynn of Clearwater, FL; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service with Holy Eucharist will be celebrated on Wednesday at 11:30 AM in Grace Episcopal Church, Mohawk, with the Reverend Robert Witt, Rector officiating.
Interment will take place in Mohawk Cemetery later this spring.
The family will be present to receive relatives and friends in FENNER FUNERAL HOME INC., 115 Court Street, Herkimer on Wednesday 10:00 to 11:00 AM.
Memorial donations may be made to the Grace Episcopal Church, Mohawk.
Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
Glenn V. Kroft
HERKIMER -- Glenn V. Kroft, 36, of Pleasant Avenue, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2002, in his home.
He was born April 23, 1965, in Lansing, Mich., son of Julie S. Murphy Kroft and the late Glenn A. Kroft.
Glenn came to this area as a young boy.
He was educated in Frankfort-Schuyler and Utica Public Schools.
A resident of Herkimer since 1984, he was currently employed by the Hale Manufacturing Company in Herkimer.
He was a very creative person who loved to paint and was also a published author.
Glenn will always be remembered as a caring and hopeful person and will be greatly missed by many, especially his family.
Surviving are his wife, Venessa Hoage Kroft; his mother, Julie Kroft of Utica; three daughters, Renee Kroft and Aria and Jenna Lajuett, both of Herkimer; two brothers, Tarre and Jeffrey Kroft, both of Lynwood, Wash.; two sisters, Colleen Silva and her husband Thomas of Tacoma, Wash. and Mary Ellen Padula of Round Rock, Texas; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will be held on Monday evening at 8 p.m. in Fenner Funeral Home Inc., 115 Court St., Herkimer.
The family will be present in the funeral home to receive relatives and friends two hours prior to the memorial service, from 6-8 p.m. on Monday.

Bradford E. Sanderson
Bradford E. Sanderson, age 84, passed away on Monday morning, November 12, 2001 in Little Falls Hospital.
Born and raised in Herkimer, Mr. Sanderson was a longtime resident of Herkimer, where he owned and operated The Richfield Gas Station.
He then worked for the New York Telephone Company until his retirement.
He enjoyed collecting and restoring antique clocks and bicycles, but will be long remembered for his unyielding sense of humor and his devotion to his family.
Mr. Sanderson leaves his wife of sixty-four years, Beryl Locklin Sanderson; a daughter, Linda Caswell of Massachusetts; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; several treasured friends and extended family members.
He was also the father of the late Jerry Sanderson.
Funeral services will be on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. in Fenner Funeral Home, Inc., 115 Court Street, Herkimer.
The Reverend David Oertel, chaplain of Folts Homes, will officiate.
Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
The family will be present in the funeral home to receive relatives and friends on Wednesday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m.

Joseph W. Madison
Worked as an appliance repairman for local stores
ILION -- Joseph W. Madison, 57, of Otsego Street, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, Feb. 11, 2002, in Little Falls Hospital.
He was born Feb. 23, 1944, in Little Falls, son of the late Walter and Vivian Graff Madison.
A lifelong area resident, he was a graduate of the Utica Trade School.
He was an honorably discharged U.S. Army veteran.
In September of 1990, he married Lesha Hardy in Ilion.
He had worked as an appliance repairman for Robinson Brothers Appliance in Mohawk, and for Edick Appliance Store in Ilion, retiring in 1990.
He had a strong belief in God and lived a devoted Catholic life.
He was a parishioner of the Church of the Annunciation, Ilion.
