DANIEL RICCIO, of Harrison, passed away December 28, 2010 at age 68. Born September 9, 1942 in Port Chester, NY to John and Catherine (Zaccagnino) Riccio. He was the proprietor of DiBiccari & Riccio Construction, later known as Lavigna (Lari) & Riccio Construction. Daniel was also a lifelong member, who then became Chief, of the Harrison Volunteer Fire Department. Survived by his beloved wife Adele (Friedland), cherished children Barbara (Robert) Loewengart, Daniel Riccio, Jr., Lauren (Hugh) Furman, Michael (Therese) Lange, and Scott (Beth) Lange, adoring grandchildren Tyler, Jillian, Alex, James, Jack, Katelyn, Oliver, and Nicholas, and a niece Gina and nephew John. In addition to his parents, he is also predeceased by his brother John Riccio. Visitation Thursday 2-4 and 7-9pm at COXE & GRAZIANO FUNERAL HOME, 767 E. Boston Post Rd, Mamaroneck. 914-698-5968. RICCIO, FRANK
Frank Riccio passed away on December 27, 2010. He was 92 years old. Frank was born on March 1, 1918 to Antonio and Teresa (Della Badia) Riccio. Frank came to the US in 1932 and settled in New Rochelle, NY. He has been a resident of New City for 38 years and lived in Boynton Beach, FL for 21 years. He was the owner of Frank Riccio's Landscaping since 1936. In 1972, Frank established Pine Brook Industry with his son-in-law, Rocco. Frank is the founding member, as well as the oldest living member, of the Guardia Lombardi Society in Mount Vernon, NY. He was honored as the original founder in October of 2008. Frank married Rose in 1939 at St. Joseph's Church in New Rochelle, NY. He was a member of St. Augustine's Church, and was also involved with doing charitable work with the Marian Shrine in Garnerville. He was an avid hunter and was a member of Hunters Haven Club in Monticello. He also enjoyed playing cards. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather whose greatest joy came from his family. Frank is pre-deceased by his wife, Rose, in 2007; his loving sons-in-law, Don Benz in 2004, and Rocco DiMatteo in 2008; as well as his brother, Nick. Frank is survived by his two daughters, Theresa DiMatteo from New City, NY and Lucille Benz from Valhalla, NY; his sister-in-law, Rose Riccio, from New City, NY; his four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Viewing will be held on Thursday December 30 from 4-8 pm at the Higgins Funeral Home in New City, NY. RODRIGUEZ, MATILDE
Matilde Rodriguez, resident of Bardonia, New York, passed away on 26th December, 2010, at the age of 88, at Nyack Hospital, New York after a sudden Brain Hemorrhage, and long battle with Parkinson and Dementia. Matilde was born on the 4th of August, 1922, in Puerto Rico. She moved to New York at the age of 15, and dedicated her life to care for her siblings, and her children working as a seamstress and then owner of her own Dress Factory. Matilde loved salsa music and enjoyed dancing with friends. She is survived by her son Joseph Puccio, daughter and Son in Law, Arlene and Peter Isaia, grandchildren, Matthew and Michael. She is further survived by her sisters Luz Raczkowski, Derys Rodriguez and brother Carlos Rodriguez, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. At Matilde's request there is no service being held in New York, and at a later date a Family Service will be held in Puerto Rico. Her family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations are sent to the Alzheimer Association , PO Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090.
SALEMO, CARMEN
Carmen Salemo a long time resident of North Rockland died December 26, 2010. He was 88. Carmen served his country proudly in the United States Army during WW II as a sergeant serving mainly in Europe. When Carmen returned from the war he worked until his retirement as a plant manager for West Point Military College. He was a life member of the Italian American Club belonging to the club for more than 50 years. Carmen was very dedicated father grandfather and husband; he was always volunteering his time at the Italian American Club and many different organizations helping children. Carmen is survived by his sons Robert and his wife Sharon of West Haverstraw, Anthony and his wife Rosana of Stony Point. His grandchildren Dennis and his wife Anita, Mark, Danielle and Andrew. He is also survived by his great-grandson Brandon his sister Rose Salemo and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Carmen is pre deceased by his wife Marie in 2001 and his son Dennis in 1999. He loved taking walks going to the beach and going to casinos. Friends may call Tuesday 7-9 PM and Wednesday 2-4, 7-9 PM at the T.J. McGowan Sons Funeral Home HAVERSTRAW. Vincent S. Stefano of Tuckahoe passed away on December 27, 2010. He was born on September 2, 1957 to Pasquale and Natalie Stefano. Loving father of Natalie and Nicholas Stefano; beloved fiance of Denise Pappas; dear brother of Regina and her husband Kevin Glynn and Tee (Patricia) and her husband Vinny Vozzella. Vince was an uncle, godfather, cousin, nephew, friend and neighbor to so many. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He worked for Genzyme Corporation as a Senior Hospital and Government Account Representative. Vince loved life, enjoyed his family and friends, worked hard and celebrated each day. Martin Finnegan, of Mahopac, NY passed away on Saturday December 11, 2010. He was 68. Marty was born in Williamstown, Galway, Ireland on April 21, 1942 the son of the late Martin and Helen Tormey Finnegan. Martin is survived by his girlfriend of 15 years Maureen Daly, his brothers John, James, Eamon and Peter Finnegan and his sisters Mary Cunningham, Bridie Finnegan and Margaret McGovern and many nieces and nephews. He was born on December 6,1926 in Brooklyn, N.Y. Philip proudly served in the US Army during WWII. He was a retired teacher with the NYC School System and past president of the Mt. Pleasant Seniors.
