U.S., Obituary Collection, 1930-Current

RICHARD L. WESTMILLER
Richard L. Westmiller, of Lima, beloved father, brother and son, died Friday, May 21, 1999. He was 38.
He is survived by his father, William Westmiller, of Red Creek; two daughters, Ashley and Shauna; two brothers, Marty and Robbie; six sisters, Lucy, Barb, Peggy, Sara, Martha and Dorothy; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends called on Tuesday, May 25, at the Fuller Funeral Home in Canandaigua. A prayer service was held there on Wednesday, May 26, followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Mary’s Church in Canandaigua. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery.
Contributions may be made for the care of Mr. Westmiller’s daughters, Ashley and Shauna, by sending them to his sister, Peggy Maurer at 3 Railroad Avenue, Victor, NY 14654.

EDITH K. HEDENSTEDT
Mrs. Edith K. Hedenstedt died on Saturday, May 22, 1999. She is survived by her son, Bruce (Sophie) Hedenstedt; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Hedenstedt was a Life Member of Swedish Clippon Lodge 325 for 55 years.
There was no prior calling hours. A Memorial Service was held Monday, May 24, 1999, at Nulton Funeral Home in Penfield.
Those wishing may contribute to the Arthritis Foundation or Cancer Society in Mrs. Hedenstedt’s memory.

JAMES A. JANSEN, SR.
James A. Jansen, Sr., of Rush, died suddenly on Tuesday, May 18, 1999 at the Ira Davenport Hospital in Bath, New York.
Jim was born on April 14, 1930, in Rochester, New York, to Anton and Wilamina Jansen. He was retired from Waste Management Company, where he was a mechanic for many years. Jim was a member of American Legion Post 1407 in Wayne, NY, Disabled American Veterans Association and the Eagles Club in Nokomis, Florida. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict.
Predeceased by his daughter, Susan, Mr. Jansen is survived by his wife of 42 years, Ruth Judd Jansen; three sons, Ronald (Paula), Keith (Lisa) and Jimmy Jr.; one daughter, Tammy Jansen (Jon); eight grandchildren, Jason, Kimmy, Jenny, Jimmy III, Tim, Andrew, Stephanie and Zachary; three sisters, Luella (Ralph) Ingleby, Eleanor (William) Mears and Wilhelmina (Frank) Donohue; sisters-in-law Corrine Jansen and Marie Jansen; nieces and nephews.
Friends called Thursday at the Stephenson-Dougherty Funeral Home in Avon where Funeral Services were held on Friday, May 21, at 11 a.m., the Rev. Dr. Thomas Taylor officiating. Interment at Pine Hills Cemetery in Rush.

MABEL H. VANDEMAR
Mabel H. VanDeMar, a life-long resident of Brighton, died on Wednesday, March 17, 1999.
She is survived by her daughter, Dorothy (Dr. Alexander) Abashian; son, Charles VanDeMar; five grandchildren, Rebecca Cornell, Kimberly Sanders, Susan Werdein, Phillip Abashian and John VanDeMar; and five great grandchildren.
Friends called at the Merton H. Kays Funeral Home, Inc. in Honeoye Falls on Sunday. March 21, 1999. Funeral Services were held on Monday, March 22, at the Honeoye Falls First Presbyterian Church. Friends wishing to express their sympathy may contribute to the HUmane Society at Lolly Pop Farm, Victor, NY 14450, in memory of Mrs. VanDeMar.

STEPHEN E. KELLEHER
Stephen E. Kelleher, 51, of Lima, and Honeoye Falls, died on Friday, March 19, 1999, at Monroe Community Hospital after a long illness.
Mr. Kelleher was born on December 22, 1947, in Hornell, New York. He was the son of Stanley Kelleher and Frances (Davis) Kelleher.
He is survived by three sisters, Sharon Kelleher Pool of Texas, Jane Ryan of Honeoye Falls and Debra Acker of Hornell; five brothers, Gary Kelleher of Wellsville, Jim Kelleher of Lima, David Kelleher of Florida, Rick Weitzel of California, and Douglas Weitzel of Texas; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends called at the O'Connell-Drowne Funeral Home in Lima, where Mr. Kelleher's Funeral Service was held on Tuesday, March 23. The Rev. Dr. Jackie Sullivan officiated. Private interment at Rural Cemetery in Hornell, NY.

HOWARD W. SNODDY
Howard W. Snoddy, of St. Simons Island, Georgia, formerly of Honeoye Falls, died on Friday, March 5, 1999, after a brief illness. He was 84 years old.
Mr. Snoddy was a veteran of World War II and received the Bronze Star.He was an Eagle Scout of Honeoye Falls and a graduate of Cornell University, class of 1937. He also volunteered in his retirement to teach sales and marketing at the college level.
Mr. Snoddy was predeceased by his wife, Loretta (Hayes) Snoddy and is survived by beloved friend, Marion Clark; daughter, Elizabeth (Don) Hassett; sons, Richard and Bill Snoddy; grandchildren, Heather and Jamie Snoddy and Alisa Hassett; sisters, Dorothy Maloney and Enid Sargent; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, March 13, 1999, at St. Anne Church on Mt. Hope Avenue. A spring interment will follow at St. Paul of the Cross Cemetery in Honeoye Falls. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a charity of your choice in his memory.

CHARLES W. SCHAIBLE, SR.
Charles W. Schaible, Sr., of East Avon, died on Monday, March 8, 1999.
He is survived by his wife, Marie; son, Charles W. Jr. (Barbara) Schaible; four grandsons, Stephen (Sharon), Kenneth (Jocelyn), Robert (Jodi), and Mark Schaible; six great-grandchildren; and one grandniece.
Calling hours were held at the Merton Kays Funeral Home, Inc. in Honeoye Falls, on Thursday, March 11, 1999. A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Friday, March 12, 1999 at St. Paul of the Cross Church in Honeoye Falls. Interment at St. Paul of the Cross Cemetery in Honeoye Falls.
