U.S., Obituary Collection, 1930-CurrentHELEN SHEPARD
Helen Shepard passed away on Saturday, June 19, in Roseland, Virginia, where she had lived with her niece and nephew-in-law, Eloise and Charles Gredler, since 1984. Ms. Shepard, the youngest of the eight children of Lillian and Will Shepard, was born on January 23, 1902 in North Bloomfield.
The Shepard family has lived in Mendon, and North Bloomfield, since the early 1800s. After a fire in 1922, which destroyed the Shepard family home on Boughton Hill Road, Ms. Shepard’s family moved to Ideson Road in North Bloomfield. She lived there until late 1983, when that house was destroyed by fire.
Ms. Shepard will be remembered for her gardening expertise and the beautiful quilts she and her sister Mabel made over the years. She was a charter member of the Honeoye Falls Garden Club and of the Genesee Valley Quilt Club.
A memorial service will he held for Ms. Shepard on Saturday, August 21, at 2 p.m., at the North Bloomfield Chapel on Route 65 in North Bloomfield - Honeoye Falls.
People having memories of Ms. Shepard are encouraged to write them down in a book that will be provided at the memorial service. Linda Shepard has such memories. She says, "I think Helen was an exceptional lady. I've never known any one who lived life her (or his) own way as Helen did. I was lucky to have known her."
A reception will he held after the service at the home of Jim Shepard at 54 Fairlawn, Honeoye FaIls. All are welcome to attend.
ETHEL N. MARTIN
Ethel N. Martin, of Rush, died on Tuesday, August 3, 1999. She is survived by husband, Robert Martin; daughter, Debbie (John) Fuchs; son, Russell Martin; five grandchildren, Erich and Casey Fuchs and Ryan, Stacey and Scott Martin; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at Merton Kays Funeral Home in Honeoye Falls on Friday, August 6, 1999. Interment was at North Rush Cemetery.
JAMES F. BROOMFIELD
James F. Broomfield, of Melbourne, Florida, formerly of Rochester, New York, died on Wednesday, August 4, 1999. He is survived by his wife, Dottie Broomfield; sons, David, Chris and Kevin Broomfield; daughter, Kim Higgins; and nine grandchildren. All relatives reside in Florida.
Born in 1924, Mr. Broomfield lived in Rochester, until 1958 when he moved to Florida. He worked as an electrical engineer for Rochester Products and for the space program. He also worked for the Brevard County School system as a bus driver. He served in the United States Army during World War II and was active in the Knights of Columbus.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 14, 1999 at 1:30 p.m. at Our Lay of Grace Church, 300 Malabar Road, Palm Bay, Florida. LAURIMERE W. CHAPMAN
Laurimere W. "Larry" Chapman, of River Road in Scottsville, died on Wednesday, August 4, 1999, at the age of 61.
Mr. Chapman is survived by his mother, Thelma Chapman of Bath, New York; his wife, Charlotte Wytias; sons, Keith (Shari) Chapman of Ft. Collins, Colorado and Bradley (Ann) Chapman of Greeley, Colorado; four grandchildren; stepsons Gregory Hoffman of Denver, Colorado and Andrew Hoffman of Boise, Idaho; brothers, Clifford (Barbara) Chapman of Scottsville, Earle Chapman of Somerville, Maine and Donald (Ruth) Chapman of Orlando, Florida; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, the Rev. Hiram Chapman.
Friends attended his Funeral Service on Saturday, August 7, 1999, at the Prattsburgh Baptist Church. Pastor Arthur Brown officiated. Burial was at Rural Cemetery in Prattsburgh.
Mr. Chapman was retired from Eastman Kodak and attended Pearce Memorial Church in Chili.
Memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice. Arrangements were handled by the Bottoni-Wood Funeral Home in Prattsburgh, New York.
DAVID R. SAYMAN
Mr. David R. Sayman, formerly of Scottsville, died suddenly in Shawnee, Oklahoma. He was 31. Mr. Sayman was a graduate of Wheatland-Chili High School. He had served in the United States Navy.
Survivors include his mother, Nancy of Scottsville and Donald and Gail, father and step mother, of Florida; a sister, Teri of Honeoye Falls; brothers, Rick of Oklahoma and Tom of Kenmore; a grandmother, Julia, of Pennsylvania; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at the Honeoye Falls United Methodist Church on Wednesday, August 18, at 10:30 a.m.

JOANNE E. AMES
Joanne E. Ames, of Honeoye Falls, died on Thursday, May 11, 2000. She is survived by her mother, Helen Ames; sister, Nancy (Dean) Heckman; one niece, Jessica Heckman; three nephews, Jacob Heckman, Mark Zobel and Eric Zobel; aunt, June Ames; cousins; and many friends, including special friends Terry and Jeff Hume.
Friends called on Sunday, May 14 at the Merton H. Kays Funeral Home in Honeoye Falls. Services were held there on Monday, May 15. Interment was private. Friends wishing to do so may express their sympathy to a charity of their choice.

John F. Kuebel, of Honeoye Falls, died suddenly on Saturday, May 13, 2000.He is survived by his wife, Anne; son, John Jr.; three daughters, Suzanne Kuebel, Stephanie Kuebel and Theresa Shortz; two granddaughters, Sara Kuebel and Chloe Shortz; sister, Mary Kathleen Coen; a brother, Philip (Norma) Kuebel; daughter-in-law Denise Kuebel; sister-in-law Lillian Kuebel; and four nephews.
Friends called at the Merton H. Kays Funeral Home in Honeoye Falls, on Monday, May 15. Prayers were offered there on Tuesday, May 16, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, celebrated at St. Paul of the Cross Church. Interment at St. Paul of the Cross Cemetery.
