U.S., Obituary Collection, 1930-Current

Thornton, Lucy, May 30, 2008, at age 92. She is predeceased by her husband, Arthur E. and brother, Willard Wundes. She is survived by her children, Joan (Galen) Grimma of Texas and John Thornton; grandchildren, David (Anne) Grimma, Elizabeth (David) Englert, John (Diana) Grimma, Michelle (Scott) Healt, Heather (Scott) Aldrich, Cheryl (Keith) Gay; many great grandchildren; nieces, Eleanor Thorton and Karen (Gary) Nelson.
Funeral Services were held June 4 at New Comer Funeral Home, Greece. Interment, Mt. Hope Cemetery.

Greenaker, Anne C., On May 31, 2008, at the age of 83. Predeceased by her husband Harold W., son William, parents James and Annie and five brothers and sisters. She is survived by her children, Carol (William) Biel, Jackie Scopa, Arthur of Tampa, Florida, Harold (Lisa) also of Tampa, Florida; faithful companion Sadie Pup; eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren; sister Elise Chase of Lawrence, Massachusetts; brother Robert (Rozzy) Thompson of Bow, New Hampshire and several nieces and nephews.
Interment at the convenience of the family.

Judd, Richard A., On June 2, 2008. He is survived by his daughters, Deborah and Mindy; grandchildren, Jessica and Mark; brothers Mike, Bill, Terry (Cindy), Roy (Janet); sister, Linda Marriott, and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services were held June 5 at Fowler Funeral Home Inc., Brockport. Interment at the convenience of the family.

Benoit, Eugene W. "Pete," May 30, 2008, at age 84 and on the day he married his bride of 61 years Margaret Story Benoit who preceded him in death on March 18, 2006. He is survived by his children Eugene L. (Robin) Benoit of Fairport and Aline (Marshall Burlingame) Benoit of Waban, Massachusetts; grandchildren Jim, Greg, Colleen and Jonathan Benoit and Brendan Hadcock; his sister, Jeannette Brown; many nieces and nephews. He was a Navy Aviator during WW II, served in the Pacific with VR-2 squadron as a Flight Engineer for the PB2Y Coronado's. He was a Manufacturing Engineer for GE. He also served as a member of the Churchville Village Board and a vital member of St. Vincent DePaul Church for over 50 years.
A Memorial Mass was said June 4 at St. Vincent DePaul Church, Churchville. Interment, St. Vincent DePaul Cemetery. Contributions can be made to National Naval Aviation Museum, 1750 Radford Blvd., Suite C, Naval Air Station, Pensacola, Florida 32508, or to St. Vincent DePaul Church in his memory.

Boss, Gertrude R. (Bubel) "Grandma Gert," April 29, 2008 on her 92nd Birthday with her family at her side.
A Memorial Service was held June 7 at the Father's House, Paul Road, Rochester. Contributions can be made to Alzheimer's research in her memory.

Gouger, William R., May 31, 2008. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis; daughters, Rachel Gouger, Marcia, Rebecca and Erica Dibble; his mother, Ida Braun; brothers, Erwin (Mary), Leonard (Faith), James (Beverly) Gouger and Henry Braun, Jr.; sister, Jeanette (Roosevelt) King; longtime friend, Eddie Knapp; many grandchildren; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and many close friends.
A Service was held June 7 at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Clarkson. Private interment, Parma Union Cemetery. Contributions can be made to Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses, 1000 Red Mills Road, Wallkill, New York 12589 in his memory.

Hazen, John A., Peacefully, June 2, 2008, age 62. Surrounded by his loving family. Survived by his wife, Judy (Lasch) Hazen; children, Michael (Mary) Hazen, Kimberly (Peter) Collura, Ann Nenni (Craig Nesbitt); his sisters, Ann and Catherine Hazen; his brother, Douglas (Elaine) Hazen; mother-in-law, Wilma Lasch; eight grandchildren; two great-grandsons; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Predeceased by his parents, Allan and Roberta (Ellis) Hazen.
Funeral Services were held June 6 at St. John Lutheran Church, Hamlin. Interment, Lakeside Cemetery. Con-tributions can be made to Hamlin Lions Club or St. John Lutheran Church in his memory.

Seewald, George R., May 22, 2008. Predeceased by his wife Betty (Beebe) Seewald and son Brian. Survived by his children Tim and Joe Seewald, Jennifer (David) Mitchell, Michele (David) Byrne, Lawrence Crawford. He also leaves 15 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
A Funeral Mass was said June 9 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Hamlin. Interment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Contributions can be made to the American Diabetes Association, 595 Blossom Road, Suite 208, Rochester 14610 or the American Cancer Society, Lakes Region, 1400 Winton Road North, Rochester 14609 in his memory.

Whitbeck, Sr., Leonard C., May 24, 2008, at age 78. He was predeceased by his wives, Josephine Whitbeck and Maria Whitbeck. He is survived by his son Leonard C. (Donna) Whitbeck, Jr.; daughter, Julie L. Whitbeck of Billings, Montana; grandchildren, Mark D. and Brian J. Whitbeck; sister, Jessie (Jerry) Mancuso. Leonard was a member of the Gates Auxiliary Police.
Private Services and interment were held.

Wright, Carolyn A., June 1, 2008, age 70, formerly of Hilton. She was predeceased by her husband, Denny W. Wright, June 11, 2007. Survived by her daughters, Julie (Edward) Daubert and Marcie Wright; her granddaughters, Alicia, Marissa and Amanda; her brother, Douglas Robinson; several sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews and many friends.
A Memorial Service was held June 5 at Hilton Baptist Church. Private interment, Parma Union Cemetery. Contributions can be made to Hilton Baptist Church Memorial Fund in her memory.
