U.S., Obituary Collection, 1930-Current

Prince, Edward E. Sr., June 22, 2007, at age 87. He was predeceased by his loving wife Ruth Barrus Prince, 1997, infant son David, 1949. He is survived by his children, Daryl (Debbie) Prince, Kathleen (Michael) Lindner, Edward Jr. (Sandra) Prince, Coleen Farr, Sally Cavagnaro, Daniel Prince, Jeffrey (Dana) Prince; his sister, Eleanor Roney; brother, Duane Prince; brothers and sisters-in-law, Janet Carter, Robert Barrus, Patricia (James) Lucero; 19 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and friends. Ed was a World War II vet, Past Chief of Hamlin Fire Depart-ment, 1960-61, retired Monroe County Deputy Sheriff.
Funeral Services were held June 27 at the Thomas E. Burger Funeral Home, Inc., Hilton. Interment, Garland Cemetery. Contributions can be made to the Ruth Barrus Prince Rose Fund, c/o Bradford Hospital Foundation, P.O. Box 1228, Bradford, Pennsylvania 16701 in his memory.

Riffle, James D., May 20, 2007, of Lakeland, Florida. Predeceased by his wife, Joan; his brother Claude; and his grandchild, Sara. Survived by his wife, Nancy; his children, Cheryl (Bill) Benedict, Gregory (Coleen) Jardine, Mark (Sue) Riffle, Grant (Tracy) Jardine, Jeanette Jardine, Todd (Joanne) Riffle; his 12 grandchildren, Mallary, Bryan, Brittany, Kelsey, Billy, Michael, Katheryne, Carly, Ellen, Sydney, Jennifer and Abigail; his brother Earl (Joyce) Riffle and his sister Phyliss (Tom) Loucks.
A Memorial Service was held June 26 at the Hilton Baptist Church. Contributions can be made to the Lakeland Choral Society, Department of Music, Florida Southern College, 111 Hollingsworth Drive, Lakeland, Florida 33801 in his memory.

Wolfrom, Elmer B. "Duke," May 8, 2007, age 92. He was predeceased by his wife, Joyce, 2003. Survived by his daughter, JoAnn Wolf of Olympia, Washington; several cousins, nieces and nephews. Also predeceased by his sisters, Grace Wolfrom, Eleanor Miller and Noreen Rood.
A Graveside Service was held June 26 at Parma Union Cemetery. Contributions can be made to Hilton Fire Department in his memory.

Grabowski, John R., June 24, 2007 at age 60. He is predeceased by his beloved wife, Patricia A. Grabowski and his parents, John and Valerie Grabowski. He is survived by his children, Steven (Mary) Grabowski, Lisa (Tom) Swanger, Kelly (Jim) Savary and Johnny Grabowski; grandchildren, Katie, James, Britney, Samantha, Leah, Lindsey and Haley; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, David and Gail Paprocki; several nieces and nephews and many devoted friends. Jack retired from Delphi after 30 years of service.
A Memorial Mass was said June 30 at St. John's Church, Spencerport. Contributions can be made to Camp Good Days Foundations, 1332 Pittsford-Mendon Road, Mendon 14506 or Ronald McDonald House Charities, 333 Westmoreland Drive, Rochester 14620 in his mem-ory.

Jewett, Gordon, June 22, 2007, at age 72. Predeceased by his parents Ray and Louise Jewett. Survived by his wife of 47 years, Kathryn J. (Kleisley) Jewett; his children, Scott (Jennifer) Jewett of Florida, Heather Butterman Jewett of Spencerport; grandchildren, Quinn, Spencer and Dylan; brother Arthur (Betty) Jewett of California; many nieces, nephews and hundreds of friends and family supporters. Retired in 1992 after 33 years as a teacher with RCSD, a Boy Scout Leader of Troop 84, Monroe County Swim Official, a member of the Brockport Yacht Club, PT Cruiser Club, Games for the Physically Challenged, Special Olympics, Rochester Power Squadron - Boating Safety Instructor, Red Cross - Water Safety Instructor and a Youth Leader of the Episcopal Diocese of Rochester.
A Memorial Service was held June 28 at the First Congregational UCC "White Church," Spencerport. Donations can be made to ALS Association, Upstate New York Chapter, P.O. Box 127, Elbridge, NY 13060 or MDA/ALS Division, 1425 Jefferson Road, Rochester 14623 in his memory.

Henderson, Catherine S., Aunt "Bea" (also known as "Billie") died July 7, 2007 at the age of 90 at Friendly Home of Rochester. Catherine is predeceased by her loving husband, Donald Henderson, sisters, Bernadine (Hayes) Case, Stella (Hayes) Comden, Francis Hayes, Vincent ("Uncle Dee") Hayes, Barnard ("Barney") Hayes and her nephew Thomas ("Tommy") Case. Bea is survived by her devoted niece, Eileen (Case) Rhodes and devoted nephew James (Jimmy) Comden. Also by niece Karen (Comden) McAllister, nephew Francis Comden, nephew Donald Comden, niece Mary Catherine (Comden) Fadale, niece Cindy Hayes-Low and niece Marlene (Hayes) Sheetz; great nieces Katie and Colleen Rhodes; many other great nieces and nephews on the Comden and McAllister side of the family.
Funeral Services were held July 11 at the Merrill-Grinnell Funeral Home, Holley. Private interment, Hillside Cemetery, Holley. Contributions can be made to Hospice of Rochester, 3111 Winton Road South, Rochester 14623 in her memory.

Hube, June A., July 11, 2007. She was one of seven sisters and is survived by her only surviving sister Myrtle Jackson of New Jersey; a special niece Roxan and several other nieces and nephews in Florida, North Carolina and New Jersey. She was a longtime employee of General Motors.
A Graveside Service was held July 16 at Lakeview Cemetery, Brockport. Contributions can be made to the Catholic Service Center of Rochester, 30 North Clinton Avenue, Rochester 14604 in her memory.

O'Brien, Ronald E., November 16, 2006, of Goodyear, Arizona, formerly of Brockport. Survived by his wife, Mary Ann; son, Ron (Tammy) O'Brien; grandchildren, Kevin and Mikayla; his sister, Arlene (Robert) McAllister; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A Memorial Mass was said July 20 at Church of the Nativity of BVM, Brockport. Private interment, Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

Rowe, George A., died July 13, 2007 at age 92, a devoted husband, father and grandfather. A life-long resident of Brockport who worked as a U.S. Postal employee for over 30 years. He was an army veteran of World War II. He learned to water ski at age 57 and continued this until a knee injury stopped him. He devoted time to taking his children water skiing. He was also a member of Brockport Yacht Club and Capen Hose. He is survived by his wife of 57 1/2 years, Janet; son, William (Jody); daughters, Carol (Chris) Hinckley and Linda (John) Baker; and seven grandchildren.
Funeral Services were held July 18 at Webster Funeral Home, Brockport. Interment, Lakeview Ceme-tery. Contributions can be made to a charity of one's choice in his memory.

Bower, Harvey J., July 11, 2007, age 84. Predeceased by his wife, Lucille (Redick) Bower; parents, Harry and Lena (Nodecker) Bower; brothers, Hank (Onolee) Bower and "Gunny" (Marylou) Bower; sisters, Liz (Ken) Williams, Anna Bower Daly and Dorothy Bower. Survived by children, Jerry and John of Hamlin, Mike (Lynn Lemmon), Rick (Terry) and Lena Bower all of Hilton; daughter-in-law, Sheryl Bower; brother, Albert and sister, Phyllis Curtis; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Ricky, Matt (Joann), Tim (Stephanie) and Sarah; great-grandchildren Austin, Ashley and Timmy Bower; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Retired from Rochester Products, member of the Hilton Peaches Baseball Team, enjoyed bowling, boxing and golf; avid hunter, fisher-man and turtle snagger. He had a roadside vegetable stand for many years.
Funeral Services were held July 14 at the Thomas E. Burger Funeral Home, Inc., Hilton. Interment, Parma Union Cemetery. Contributions can be made to the S. Edelman-H. Gardner Cancer Research Foundation or Humane Society at Lollypop Farm in his memory.
