Born at: Rochester, NY
History: Emma was born in Rochester, New York on June 30, 1931 to George & Alice Tiffany. She grew up in Greece with 2 sisters, Mary & Jackie and 3 brothers, George, Albert & Harvey. Emma Tiffany attended John Marshall High School beginning in 1947 and graduating in 1950. While in high school she met the love of her life and future husband, Edward C. Hayes. After graduating, Emma worked at Eastman Kodak and JM Fields. Nearly 3 years later she married Ed on February 14, 1953. Emma and Ed went on to have 6 children - Robin, Bill, Ken, Sandy, Patty & Bernie. She was a full-time MOM, her greatest achievement. After her children were grown, Emma went back to work in the insurance business for the balance of her working years. Five children married off and 9 grandchildren later, Emma was in the prime of her life. She enjoyed the company of many friends, who if asked, would say "she was a best friend". Her love of laughter and true honesty made people want to be around her. Over the years, she found enjoyment in a women`s bowling league, playing cards with the "girls", Friday night`s out with Ed, Euchre league, puzzles and special times with her family... and there were many. She gladly stepped in to help out her son at his place of business, Turnbull Heating & AC and took care of her grandchildren when called upon. She was always there for her kids. A woman totally devoted to her husband during his times of illness, her commitment to this man and the family she loved was unwavering. There is much to be said about Emma Hayes, a woman who will be sadly missed by so many. But I believe that the two things she would be most proud of would be her role as wife and mother. She is and always will be considered OUR greatest gift. We will all find comfort knowing that she knew how much she meant to each and every one of us. You will always be held close in our hearts....forever and ever. We love you MOM!!
